Yes. The sprint format was awesome. The Saturday sprint race was so fun. It was probably the best Austin racing experience I have had in the 10 years I have been going. And the shirts were $220, Max hat, $160. Proud of myself that I did not buy any of that overpriced merch, even though there were tons of good stuff. Plenty of vodka and tacos though :).  Already booked the house for next year!

What kind of shirts?  The team button polos or t shirts?
I went to Mtl in 2008 and 2010 and the team shirts were $120 CDN I believe.  I have three and I don't think I've worn them :)

Alpine, Merc and Red Bull T-shirts $220. I think they actually lowered the prices leading up to race day. F1 does have great merch even though the prices are outrageous. And same, I have a bunch of team shirts but I only wear them at the races.

Crazy times!  The sprint didn't look so good on tv, I'm glad you had a good time in person!

The sprint was one of the highlights.  Instead of a boring Friday or Saturday.

Was planning on checking out the Vegas F1 race this weekend but just saw that it starts at 10pm Vegas time.  Middle of the night for most of the US.  Why so late????  But the same guy who wins every race will just win again so won't miss much.

The obviously wanted it under the lights but from what I read it was about making it a better viewing time for Europe. But yeah, dumb

I lived in Vegas for 33 years….99% of my friends are still there….the locals are not happy about the disruption this race is causing. service workers on and around the strip are basically being told “plan on a three hour drive to work; we don’t know where you can park but you’d better be here!” many locals are hoping this thing is a giant failure.

I get the hassle and the added traffic for months, but the traffic mess will, in theory, be over now that everything is built.  As far as workers go. Its four days of inconvenience, which sucks but is not the end of the world. I wonder if the super bowl will have the same effect.  Anyhow, I am looking forward to seeing how this goes. The opening ceremony was like being in a nightclub. Not my cup of tea.

I don’t think half the roads around the strip will be closed, leading up to the Super Bowl.

I am not that familiar with Vegas. I would guess there will be headaches when the super bowl comes to town. I hear you on the strip being shut down though.

After all the early hiccups, Vegas turned out to be a great F1 track.    Great race.
