Better episode this week, but the show is still moving too slow.

I for one would rather have a concise short season like last season. There's got to be better story telling than the Rick/Lori/Shane triangle thing, and for gods sake, find or kill off the little girl already! Or better yet, bring her back as a zombie who kills Shane. I've had enough of his whining already. He needs to be zombie meat.

I bet Sophia comes back as a zombie and bites mommy.

I don't know, that's kind of cliche. It happened in Night Of The Living Dead and many of the countless zombie films that followed. But they do need to find her and move on with the show, I don't even remember what she looks like anymore.

They are spending too much time on the farm. There needs to be a zombie attack on it soon, and half of the people make it out alive.
  • anyone think Otis will make an appearance down the line? then maybe Shane can give him the Honky Tonk with his own guitar!

I hope so. I liked poor chubby Otis.

Last night I watched the pilot episode itself, up until Rick encounters the zombies in Atlanta. (I can't stand to watch the part where the horse is attacked.)

What an amazing, amazing pilot that was. Grabbed you by the throat from the very beginning.

Yeah, they need to resolve the situation with the little girl and get the hell off of this farm! Last 2 episodes have been pretty boring. All the zombies in the barn was a big thing, but I think most saw that coming...

I'm sure there's probably a good "Severed Hand" joke for Merle, but I'm too lazy to think of it...

  • I just watched 28 Days Later tonight. Always assumed it was a zombie movie. But it's a "rage" virus. still, pretty good. Walking Dead TOTALLY stole that beginning though! Holy crap it's the exact same scenario! wake up in the hospital and everyone is gone!

  • is anyone else scared that this might turn into the next Lost? I hope the writers actually know where they are going with this. Next week with the "barn escape" looks good, but a lot of the previews have been very well edited to make it look like something the actual episode doesn't quite turn out to be.

me too so far. I think it's just one of those shows that you get so addicted to so quickly, and with the pilot being as strong as it was, you want that pace to keep up, even though that's not possible.

Actually the first issue of the Walking Dead graphic novel had already gone to press and they were working on the second issue when 28 Days Later came out. So apparently it had no influence. But I remember when the show first came out there was a lot of discussion, and some people claimed that the way both The Walking Dead and 28 Days Later begins is a "ripoff" of some other movie that I had never heard of and title I don't remember.

    i know i have mentioned this b4.
me personally i have always been a huge fan of the genre and 99% percent of zombie movies deal with the same "few days" scenario
granted i love that and would love that in the walkking dead...however ,this is a totally new attempt at throwing a wrinkle into the genre ..
some might call it boring ,but i'am totally digging the every day life of the situation which at times is zombie-lesss

alittle variety never hurt nobody

never having watched a zombie movie in my life, TWD is my first forray into the genre. I was immediately captivated by the fact that the show is about the survivors, not the zombies.

I don't think it's boring, I just think the first few episodes spoiled us is all. It's just that the show keeps me wanting more. Kinda like 24 did. I hated when that hour was up every week.

You would probably enjoy the first 3 Romero movies. They are more about the survivors than zombies, especially Dawn Of The Dead and Day Of The Dead, and the common theme is that in a zombie apocalypse it's not the zombies you need to worry about, but the other survivors. The downfall of various characters and groups of characters are always caused by humans.
