However, I think for the past 10 or so years now the Lakers have been thought of by sub-par and inconsistent contributors as "the team to sign with if I want an easy ring."

    Such competitors.

hey if you were a journeyman player and the lakers wanted you, you wouldn't go? i mean we gotta fill the bench even though phil never plays 'em

It wouldn't be worth sporting that terrible "Laker" name on my chest night in and night out.

I don't loathe much, but the Lakers are an exception. I associate that mostly with all the fraudulent and jackass fans, except of course you norm. I can't stay mad at that sweet gopher face.

I bet it's not a matter of wanting the journeymen, but more so of who out there will take the lowest salary to save Buss money.

    Reference Kwame Brown.

can't really help with the fan base...it is what it is...in every sport there are bandwagoners & asshats

well since the lakers have been paying a luxury tax for several years now, i think buss should try to save money wherever he can :D

hmmm....lets not forget, he did crack the 60 point barrior a few times including a 69 point OT performance vs. teh Cavs

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 80CLE.html

given the right circumstances (a team with bad team defense, and bad 2 guard defense, a hot shooting hand), i don't see why he couldn't.

call me a homer if you would like.

 i assumed we were all talking about a Jordan in his prime in today's league.

i still think he could play in the league as a backup. not heavy minutes, but couple of minutes here and there.

i still have hope that he puts on the jersey one more time.
