Even though they lost that was one of the most exciting experiences of my life. I can't believe I got to see a World Series game in person. I can't believe the Rangers are about to play a game in November!!
My son and his friend painted up their faces and made signs and all that stuff. We showed up early and did a little tailgating. It was a night I will NEVER forget.
Down 3-1 is tough, but I do think the Rangers win with Lee tonight and take it back to SF. Anything can happen. Pretty disappointed in the offense though. They just could not figure Bumgarner out.
Every single one of the Giants are tough outs. The may not be the best offense around but they battle and wear down pitchers and get timely hits, substituting quality for quantity. Got to hand it to 'em for that.
As far as the Rangers go, an already shaky bullpen took another huge hit last night as Ogando is now out for the remainder of the series. The Rangers need Lee to go strong tonight and need a huge game out of CJ.
Srsly, I envy you. Seeing a World Series game has always been a dream for me. For some reason, this year it seems enough that one is happening less than 10 miles from where I live.

This team went from the depths of bankruptcy in the loneliest outpost of MLB in the shadow of the Dallas Cowboys to the World Series.
I can't even describe how crazy this season has been. They can hold their head up high when the dust settles. They did far more than any Rangers team in history. I didn't want this season so end!
Going to a World Series game with my son is something I will never ever forget. Ever.
Thanks Josh Hamilton for the inspiration and the monster season you put together. Thanks Cliff Lee for helping up get there. Thanks Colby Lewis for finding your way! Thanks CJ for being a complete weirdo and kinda bad ass too. Thanks Michael Young for putting in your time and sticking with us through the dark years. You deserve it more than anyone. Thanks for the boomstick Nellie.
And most of all, thanks Jon Daniels, Chuck Greenberg and especially the great Nolan Ryan for finally making us respectable, for putting this thing together and ending the myth that you can't pitch in this park, that the heat keeps people away, that people won't follow once the Cowboys start, that we can't win in the post season, that we can't get past the Yankees.

i suspect the Rangers are going to be on an upswing, now that Nolan is running the show. assuming he knows what he is doing, i don't think you could ask for a better owner.
Part of me is glad. I remember A-Rod and I wasn't comfortable with giving up that much money and that many years. The Rangers farm system is stacked. We will be OK. Hey, if that is what he wanted then so be it.
The more I think about it this morning, I just don't think the Rangers would have been able to swallow that much for that long. $160 million over 7 years or whatever it was. Wow.
As far as Cliff goes, he must have really wanted to go there to leave that much on the table, but now I have to wonder something. I wonder if he got it into his head that if he had stayed here, we might not be able to put pieces around him. If he thought about the A-Rod contract and how that played out. He doesn't have to be the man in Philly. Maybe that spooked him a little? At any rate, I won't hate him or anything. This isn't like Mark Texieria. So, thank you Cliff for helping us take our shot last year and good luck!

Not sure anything will get done with Greinke, but I bet Matt Garza becomes a target and that would be just fine with me. Also expect a big push fr Adrian Beltre. We'll be OK.
As usual, Flagg, you sum up my feelings. I also had memories of the A-Rod deal and think it's just as well it worked out this way. It's kind of satisfying anyway, that he could pass up the Yankees deal and go where he wanted to.
I am not sure I like some of the moves this off season.
OK with Adrian Beltre but trading Frank Francisco for Mike Napoli makes no sense to me. We have a 1st baseman, although young and untested for a whole season (Mitch Moreland) and a veteran who has now been moved to utility status (Michael Young). I think we already have one of the best (if not the best) infields in the AL so adding Napoli is weird.
It doesn't even make sense at catcher since Torrealba and Treanor are here. I guess they are going into training with three catchers on the roster.
I guess they really trust that bullpen but after what happened in the World Series I don't see how that is the case. Missing Francisco for the last part of the season put a strain on them. How does removing him from the mix altogether help?
If they just needed a bat, then just resign Vlad! He isn't finding work anywhere else. I suppose the thinking is that Napoli is good insurance in case someone gets hurt. And he knows the AL West having been with the hated Angels for several years.
I don't know. Since we lost out on Cliff Lee some of the moves seem a little weird.
Not a bad start to the season. Had a great time at the game last night. If you want to see the Rangers win at home, getting tickets to a game where John Lackey starts is a pretty safe bet.
