And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

Perhaps I should have created a separate thread :) I wouldn't want them to have a single sax man playing solos, but I would love to hear the band with a horn section backing them.

I don't mean that they should have one at each show, or in an album (though I wouldn't oppose the album option) but at least one show with a horn section would be nice. They could ask Pete (Townshend) help with the arrangements ;) I can hear in my head how the arrangements would go e.g. for Faithful and Do The Evolution.

I'm sure you didn't dislike how the band sounded at VH1 Rock Honors?

  • Oh no!! No saxophone. No. Maybe for one song though, if Eddie started moving to the music, and also threw his shirt away. Why not in Stockholm on the 7th of July, for example? ;) But after that one song, the saxophone must be GONE.

    pearl jam NEEDS a saxophist.

if this is a truly serious suggestion, what songs do you think would benefit from sax?

I'm not opposed to this idea.

It wouldn't need to be on every song, but a nice sax on a few songs a show would be nice and add
    something cool and different.

This is coming from a songwriter that's been in rock bands my whole life and swore i'd never even have a
keyboard player. Now that I'm doing the solo thing, but looking to put a band together to work the solo stuff, a good piano/keys player is on the top of my list to find. Along with someone that can play sax on a few things.

It's called growth people. We can't stay 22 forever. Trust me, I've tried. :D
    Peace, Love.

no one's saying the sax is only for old people. it has its place. it just wouldn't fit with pearl jam's music. maybe ed's solo stuff, but not PJ.
