i disagree. i think a saxophone would add a lot to some older tunes and help take them into a new direction.

    this needs to happen.

Hmm... I'm sure Kirk Pengilly (INXS) would love the gig and could add a 4th guitar to the mix... but how about how about a dj scratching and pumping out a doof doof doof back beat... or we could even get tock aitken waterman to write a few tunes for them...

I've heard the Memphis Horns add some great sounds on a You Am I album ("You Am I's 4th Album") but just can't see that fitting with PJ.

Yes! And then Ed could start dressing more formally on stage, and when the boys covered Neil Young it would sound like this:

Now, this just happens to be absolutely awesome and fabulous. But, alas, it already has been done.

  • Oh -- the saxophone solo begins at 3:32 in that video.

I'd be willing to play trombone. Think how nice the "do do do do do do do" in Black would sound played on trombone. All I would ask is that I am paid money similar to the "rookie" members like Boom and that drummer from Soundgarden.

The next album could be called "Sax-ual Harrassment"
  • not only do they not need a saxophonist, they need to drop the keyboardist. nothing against Boom or keyboards in general, I just don't feel it fits their music.

pearl jam experimented with the sax on some songs for during the yield sessions but left them off the album.

not sure if anyone has heard the version of in hiding with the sax solo but it kicks major ass.

i really think they should revisit this.

Not sure it would work for Pearl Jam.

The Hold Steady however, the song 'Our Whole Lives' is BEGGING for a horn section. It's in the later part, but I think it would be better all the way through.

What about The Black Crowes, 'Freak N' Roll' has the horns, and it rocks.
