Shocker, Ohio St. beats Penn St. again. Pearl-Jam-Smileys
Not very creative with the play calling at the end, but it was a pretty good game.

Ha.  Riley the offensive genius is a total fraud.
Has there ever been a team that has the lead in every game in the 4th qtr and is 4-5 after 9?
    Fuck.
Just win 3 of then and the story is different.
    Total HC fail.
Didn't expect team to be awesome this year but didn't expect to lose close games all year.

Probably true, but at least you know of you fall behind by 14 that you are still going to win.

IU Hoosiers still getting it done. UM coming to town next week, and then the big test at Ohio St.

I love this for IU! Huge favorites against Meatchicken. A bye week before playing Ohio. And a game against a decimated Purdue team to cap it off. It's set up as good as it could possibly be for IU and I hope for the best for them.

My son went to JMU and this is killing him.  Like me, he's also fundamentally a Buckeye so if we were to lose to them, that would be a devastating blow after Cignetti packed up himself and like 14 transfers and went to IU.

As well as IU is playing, there is still a pretty major talent gap between IU and OSU and the game is in Columbus.  They will be underdogs for sure, but they seem to play us tough more often than not.

I don't and haven't cared for college fooseball up until the playoffs.  So.
Is it me or are these games that are televised absolute crap?  The level of playmanship isn't good.

Did the NIL kill college football now?

I think NIL is helping to even the playing field. There will still be the upper echelon of teams. But before LEGAL NIL and the transfer portal, the SMU, Boise States and IU never stood a chance.

I’m not sure if it’s NIL, expanded conferences or the playoffs, but I think college has been better than ever this year. Games feel both more important, because there are more games that matter, and less pressure packed because you can lose. It feels a little closer to pro.

Yes, I recall. And they were given tge death penalty. I was referring to the more recent landscape of CFB I guess. Prior to this year, SMU, Boise State or IU could be at the exact same spot they are in. But, realistically, none of these schools would have ended up with a chance to play for the national title. An exception would be IU if they were to beat Ohio State in 2 weeks and Oregon in the B1G Championship Game. Otherwise, they'd have zero chance.

Agreed. Games that were previously not that important to the national picture are now huge. Alabama-LSU, both with two losses, was a good example.

John Robinson and Gerry Faust both died yesterday at the same age.

Robinson pulled a Rollie Massimino (or maybe vice versa) when he took UNLV’s money and gave them nothing in return.

RoboFat was kinda a jack wagon but he did delivery some Championships.
Was there when he came back for SC round 2, not great.  My senior year he won a Rose Bowl w.Keyshawn and I think finished 3rd or so.

I figured LSU was going to drop that one. After being curb-stomped by Bama and losing any outside chance of the CFP, I thought they would mail in the rest of the season.

a lot of inconsistencies in the CFP rankings. legitimate gripes to be had by non-B1G/SEC teams. I suppose it will work itself out.

I could see all of the top 4 (bye) seeds losing, no matter how the bracket fills out on the left hand side. IMO, Oregon doesn’t get much of a reward for being the overall #1.

In this model, 5 seed is sitting pretty. It’s why I don’t like automatic bye. I’m good with the conference champs getting in, but after that it should be a straight seed like in basketball.

I agree that they should Seed like Basketball.

#5 Seed could play their first 2 games vs teams outside the Top 10.
