  • I thought Paxton Lynch was supposed to be good? Looked awful against a mediocre Auburn team.

The SEC homers are out in full force (not here, elsewhere online) after beating two shitty teams in mismatched bowl games.
Like, they don't even cheer for the team. It's just "SEC, SEC, SEC." I'll never understand that. I couldn't give two shits what anyone else in the ACC does as long as the 'Noles handle their own business. (Unless, of course, it's an ACC team beating an SEC team.)

It's funny how the conference pride shows up during bowl season when every game but 3 of them is absolutely meaningless.

Even though he isn't a coach, throw Pat Forde in there for good measure.

Kicked their ass is what they did. 13-1, beat 4 ranked teams in their last 5 games, 2-0 vs ACC teams which were 3-1 against the "almighty" SEC. Houston was definitely overlooked on everyone's radar... especially Jimbo Fisher's.

Not picking a fight by any means, but I just don't understand the conference rooting. Now let me state now that I am an enormous Notre Dame fan. That said, I have friends that are fans of various teams but I'll use Michigan fans as an example (not bashing, despite my deep deep hatred for UM). I fail to understand how a UM fan could root for Ohio State under any circumstance that would not advance Michigan's season.

The only circumstances in which I would consider rooting for Michigan or USC would be if it meant that their win would somehow help Notre Dame advance to the CFP. At this point in the season, we are all past our rivals helping our own teams cause. A like comparison would be no way is Auburn rooting for Bama...right? Or, maybe I'm just looking at it from an independent perspective (pun intended).

No chance in heck I'll internet fight, but for me...I'm a Penn State fan who grew up as an independent and I always thought it sucked. I always watched Big10 football and loved it. PSU got in, Big 10 hated it, but I always found it great. We have no natural rival, so it's easy for me. I agree, I can't see an OSU fan rooting for that team from the north but....more bowl wins is more conference money

As a Michigan fan, it made me happy watching Bama destroy MSU. Would never root for MSU. Never understood why SEC fans will root for their conference rivals in bowl games, but to each there own. I'll now root for Clemson to win it all.

And if there was any way both tO$U and Notre Dame could lose somehow, that would make me very happy.
