how crazy is all this skilled position talent...arguablly a top 5 RB, top 5 WR (defianltly top 10), and a top 10 QB (potential to move higher). good solid backups at the skill positions.... the defense should be solid.....and special teams should be above average, as always.... i know training camp will be dominated by O line talk, but i'm not super concerned about it. IMO, the new offense will take into account that and move the pocket, audiable, and play to its skill set. unless we see massive fall off on D, or injuries catch up....this team should easily make the playoffs.....and once there, have as good of a chance as anybody else.
I think the problem is you think Cutler is a top 10 QB. He again proved last night he is no where near that, way too inconsistent. Could he get there? Maybe, but everything I've seen so far tells me he won't.

Way too much is made about whether guys are top 5, top 10, top 20. Who gives a shit. Cutler is a QB that the Bears should be able to win with...plain and simple.

great point about stupid rankings. not sure I agree with your second point though. why do you think that? he is a turnover machine, has a shitty attitude, and has never won anything

They got to the NFC championship with him 2 years ago. Bears were rolling last year at 7-3 with him before he got hurt in spite of Martz's horrendous play calling and an awful O-line. And now they added some size and speed at WR that this team has never had. Granted, he does turn the ball over a lot and will have games like last night from time to time. He does have an awful attitude...pretty obvious that the guy is a complete asshole. Asshole or not, I think they should be able to win with him.

He did kind of come across as an asshole in his post-game interview last night, but in his defense the reporters were asking some of the DUMBEST questions I've ever heard, multiple times. I think they were just trying to piss him off and get a good sound bite out of it.
"See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"
The Packers should have flat-out destroyed the Bears last night.
4 picks and they only scored 23 points? And they got 13 of them from two long field goals and a trick play?
The NFC championship game will not feature a team from the North this year.
Way too early to make that call. Did anyone expect the Giants to win the Super Bowl after week 2 last week? The Packers beat a good Bears team last night by almost 2 TDS- they did plenty to win. No offense to the Bears fan- I still think they will have a good season too.
Since his days in college he's hated talking to the media. I'm pretty sure I'd come off as an asshole too as I have little patience for stupid people and the stupid things they say. The questions they ask are ridiculous and he's not one to respond too often with the pre-packaged cliche answer.
While the entire team was awful last night what irritates me the most is the coaching.
Two things:
The play calling. Was Mike Martz calling in those plays from his couch last night? The running game was never established. They didn't even try! All offseason they were talking about how the offense was going to be a quick attack, short slant, "west coast" kind of offense. All the talk was getting the ball out of Jay's hands and into the playmaker's. I don't recall seeing this happen even once last night. Everything was a 5 step drop or set up in the shotgun. Every sack was a 10-15 yard loss and this wasn't because Jay was scrambling. If you have to drop back that far to give your guys time to get open....that's a bit of a problem, especially with a line that can't stop anyone from breaking through. The wideouts never ran a route that was less than 10-15 yards. The slot was running 5-10 yard turn arounds against a 3-4 defense....aka...lots of traffic (see the pick attempted to Earl Bennett).
Coaching overall: I remember before the game the announcers talking about how the Bears were laughing and goofing around during the pre-game warm-ups. Um, I'm sorry but what kind of coach would allow for this to happen? Get f'n serious! I'm very curious to see what the discussion was a half. Clearly nothing changed. It would be nice to have a coaching staff put a boot up some asses from time to time!
If Clay Matthews ever has to take a drug test, I guarantee he comes up positive for PEDs
Its the NFL..
These players are taking PED's for breakfast.
Funny, in baseball if you get caught? They suspend you for 50 games.
In Football? You take PED's like they are cough drops.
I have a feeling its worse in the MLB, NFL guys are naturally athletic and built like machines, but there is a lot of PEDs floating around the NFL, but i'm thinkin more in the MLB
Hehehehe you knew it was coming....all that shit talking before the game....hot damn the Bears o-line looked awful. Cutler's a little bitch....they are who we thought they were!

Yep. They had all 11 guys way up on the line trying for the block. The game was only 3-0 at the time. Why the fuck send everybody for the block???

charles woodson's comments after the game. hilarious...and spot on
"We understand that Jay is excited about his new weapons, but it's the same-old Jay. We don't need luck; Jay will throw us the ball."

he's just not the most jovial outgoing person.
if I was his o-lineman I might 'miss' a block every now and then

Ha...I could see that. I doubt Cutler takes his o-linemen out to dinner and buys them gifts like most QBs do.
one of my friends who bet on bears last night texted me during the game.
'cutler doesn't look or act like a qb. he should be playing lacrosse'
I was pissing myself

I'm not in complete freakout mode, but boy was that ugly last night.
Gonna be crazy if the vikes end up all alone in first in our division after this week
Yeah, the one thing no one seems to be talking about is how well the Bears D played. Like you said, way too early in the season to start freaking out.
That would be somethin if the Vikes end up in 1st.
