Bullshit too in that it eliminates rentals as well, if I'm not mistaken.

Also, I didn't see anything about backwards compatibility. Will One play 360 games?
    Nope.

Heres the side by side specs of both systems:

I didn't know the PS4 wasn't either. I thought they had a plan for that?
    Gross.

The 4K compatibility is interesting for both systems, not that many people will be able to afford a TV for the next several years.
And so you see, I have come to doubt

Has there been much 3D hyping with the PS4?

I dont think so. I think everyones starting, or has, realized that 3D tv is pretty stupid.

Ha, depends on the media. Some things are quite neat.

How is the CPU better? The PS3 CPU was better than 360's as well and fat lot of good that did.

The PS4 CPU is 2GHz. Xbox One is 1.6GHz

The "Cell" processor is more powerful than the 360's Xenon. Sony's biggest problem was that the system had far too little RAM. The 360 was able to allocate resources better as their CPU and GPU were on the same chip. They could rely on 512MB of RAM where the PS3 had a seperate 256MB of dedicated video RAM in addition to being able to share additional 224MB from the system RAM. Xbox's GPU was far simpler to work with.

Yeah, I have a 3D TV. I tried it once and thought it was a waste of time.

Idk, hope thats not the case if PS4 opts to go this route as well.

Well, I wont be being either for at least a year. Should be able to make a decent decision by then. Maybe getting my first Sony. Still way too many unknowns at this time though.

The install fee is B.S. even though it doesn't affect me.

I harken back to the days when I was a young lad and relied on a N.E.S. trading ring because it would take me three months of mowing lawns to buy C.O.N.T.R.A.

The future does not look good for hard core gamers. Not when kids are playing iPod games these days.

Very much sounding like it will not be compatible.

The Xbox One looks like it will be a disaster. It appears to be focused on sucking money out of our wallets more then gaming.

Nintendo should cut WiiU prices right now and start focusing on high-end RPG development. I think they can retake the market if Microsoft and Sony fall flat on their faces.

I don't think it will be anywhere close to a disaster, either one of them. The original rumours of always on drm and whatever else could have been true and they would still have sold.

The games are looking good and really that is the main thing. There are a few things I am not keen on, like everyone else, but I am not too worried about it as it will be a good bit into the life cycle before I am done with 360 and PS3 and who knows what will have changed by then (the install fee could be gone by then, like EA is doing away with the online pass...would be nice).

Sony's stock went up 9% after the Xbox One reveal. Microsoft went down .6%

These should get delayed. I hope they do. If not, then Im sure we will see collossal failures. Sony and MS wont want to be the first to delay though, that hurt Sony bad last time.

Im still in the boat of wait and see. Definitely leaning PS4 at the moment though. Probably wont buy one anyways for quite awhile unless there is some game (like a new Fallout) that completely compels me

Confusion reigned yesterday when sources first reported that the Xbox One would require mandatory installs, with anyone wanting to play a game on more than one machine forced to pay for it again. Thankfully, this was later clarified as a misunderstanding - you can play a game using your own account from any machine, though you can't share that game with others unless they're signed into your account or playing on the same machine.

    Im still confused

It looks like it is basically the same thing. It sounds like the copy will be married to your profile/gamer tag

Well it is obvious MS is trying to squeeze people. I think they know exactly what they are going to do but dont want to come right out and say it because they know the backlash will be terrible. They are taking a page out of politics and making things blurry on purpose. It is possible that they are testing peoples reactions and will make a decision in based on that but I doubt it.

Every sign is pointing toward me switching to Sony. If they do the same I will be done with consoles.

Well, Sony did say that they wouldn't block "used" games. I hope it's true, but I don't see how a developer who makes games for Sony and MS would be ok with this. The developers LOVE the idea of getting rid of used games as it will bring in more money for them...which I get. I just don't know how say a company like Activision or EA would make a game for MS which bans used games then make the exact same game for Sony that allows for it.
I think ultimately, both companies are going to have to do the same thing.
Many people are up in arms about these rumors coming from MS with many saying they'll go to the other system. If Sony stays the way they claim, I think MS is going to stuggle...but again, I think Sony has taken the right course....so far.

I agree. I'll bet Sony has the same agreement with the game publishers. All they have stated is that you will be able to play used games. Whether that includes a fee has yet to be denied or addressed.
