I just got Madden 13 in the mail today. I didn't even know I had it coming. Apparently it's my free gift from Sports Illustrated this year. I'm excited to check it out.
for me, San Andreas was. I loved how large the area was with so much variety (large cities, mountains, desert, casinos, woods, etc). I also loved the backdrop of South Central LA in the 90's.
Plus the RPG elements of your character building skills depending on what you did, weapons you used, ate, wore, etc..
Played about 10 minutes on Tuesday, had to finish the Deus Ex achievement before getting into H4, but did the first mission last night...I'm loving it.
A huge leap in audio/video as well, imo. Amazing cutscenes.
Damn, Halo 4 is already out? I was going to pre-order it and get the bonus stuff, but I kept putting it off and forgot. I bought 007 Legends like 3-4 weeks ago and have only played it for like 10 minutes. Now there's another game coming out. I'm getting behind.
"See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"

I didn't hear anything good about Legends, how did you like your 10 minutes?
I loved QoS but I'm not sure how that was reviewed either.

Pretty disappointed actually. I really liked QoS, and Blood Stone too. This game is just like Goldeneye Reloaded. Same straight forward FPS with no strategy required. I liked the sneaking around and cover system from those other games, this is just run and gun.
Also, one of the reasons I was so looking forward to it is because I thought you were going to be playing as the old school Bonds. Since all the levels are based on classic movies from each era. Instead it's just Daniel Craig in updated/modern versions of the films, much the same way Goldeneye Reloaded was a modern remake of the film starring Daniel Craig. The plot device is that Bond gets knocked out or something, and in his dreams goes through all the various Bond adventures, as Daniel Craig.
Moonraker starring Daniel Craig? :nono:

That is disappointing. I knew Craig was the Bond for all the scenarios, but the plot as you describe it seems rather lame!
I didn't mind Bloodstone but they ruined the multiplayer. The MP for QoS was great fun! Except Golden Gun....only achievement I'm missing...

Golden Gun was the last achievement I got (for 100% completion) and I hated it too. Not a fun game, and people would just camp and kill anybody who came near it. I never played MP for Bloodstone though, I stopped playing games online after about a year of XBOX Live. I was just talking about story mode.
I played for a little while longer last night, like 10 more minutes. Still not crazy about it, but it's not terrible.
The premise is kind of lame, I'll expand. It starts out with a scene from Skyfall, and Bond get's knocked off a bridge into the water, then he wakes up in a dream as Bond from different eras. I don't know if it's all supposed to be a dream, or if they're saying that this all supposedly really happened and it is flashbacks, and creating a continuity/canon within the game or something.
It would have been so much better to just made the levels about the classic movies, they use all the same bad guys, just change the Bond.

Saw SF today so that makes a bit of sense. It would not be too bad as flashbacks I guess.

Yeah, I didn't want to say too much, I haven't seen it yet, but I didn't know if it was a spoiler or something. But it's when he's on top of a train, and he gets shot I think (I forget it was like 2 weeks ago when I started) and falls into the water, and goes into flashback mode. Also, now that Skyfall is released there is Skyfall DLC for the game.

SatansFuton, SkyFall, SF..hmm, coincidence??
There are a lot that would rank higher, but here are the most grievous snubs:
Super Mario World
Civ 4
Final Fantasy 2
Tecmo Super Bowl
Red Alert 2
Red Dead Redemption
Zelda: Link to the Past
Super Mario 2 and 3
Rome: Total War
Miss Pac Man
R.B.I. Baseball
NHL '94
Super Mario Kart

How does REZ even make that list? :fp:
I forgot about that one... I played the shit out of that game.
that list is pretty bad... its mostly a list of the most popular game done by decades. katamari is on that list but they exclude silent hill 2 and resident evil 2, the best of franchise, though they included the first of those series. guitar hero and rock band but no ocarina of time....
that list was a bit all over the place. Should have called it the biggest breakthroughs or something.
Civ 4 I agree IMO is the best game ever. You can say Civ I is better.
Same goes with GTA III. Vice City and San Andreas were way better. At this time I would probably play GTA II before I would III. But it was the major breakthrough for the series.
ToeJam and Earl I would put on the list.
Tetris should be higher. Everyone has played it and is aware of what it is.
A lot of those I never heard of.
There is just too much criteria to make a definitive list like that. There are a lot of different criteria. I prefer a sandbox game and the more freedom you have to branch off, do what you want, customization, etc/replayability, the better the game is. Linear games would not make it that close to the top of my list.
Nostalgia is important too, which is why Techmo Super Bowl would be rated higher than say Madden 2008.
Battletoads was another great Nintendo game. Linear, but so challenging. No room for error.

Vice City is the pinnacle of the series.

I wasn't a fan of 4 either. I got it, I played it, I got bored and never finished it.
I thought S.A was the best of all of them.
