I love nature... am all about preserving the natural environment... BUT those wankers need to a swift kick to their genitalia.
Great post.
I too love nature and believe we should do all we can to preserve it but these tossers make me want to destroy a tree just to spite them.
Be careful, you might just get a splinter in your ass.
what's the big deal? ... what does it matter to you what others do that has absolutely zero impact on you or anyone you know?
some people act like that at the mention of the word "tax" ...
doesn't matter at all to me... they are certainly free to express themselves however they want. I just think the way they have chosen to do so is pathetic beyond fucking measure. Grow a set and make yourself heard! Shit man life is too short and these causes are too important to sit around crying about it.
Eddie has an Earth First tatoo on his leg. Are you saying he is a crybaby?
No, I'm not. Why? Did you incorrectly interpret my statement to mean that all activism is pathetic? That is certainly not what I said or connotated and if you interpreted it that way I apologize... Crying over trees is incredibly trite and hypocritical. Someone earlier mentioned that they are sitting on grass and killing at least a few plants. Why aren't they crying over that? Because that species has a shorter life span? Because it isn't as beautiful? Give me a break.
And my statement about "kicking them in the genitalia" wasn't literal, of course, and that should be obvious. It was meant in a symbolic manner that they are overly emotional and need to grow a pair and make a real difference somehow. Yes, I found out that they are part of a group that does indeed do some wild things (that I think are cool) but we are talking about this individual act of weeping over vegetation.
Finally, I think this is just an ego-inflating gimmick these people are performing. "Look at me... I care so deeply about trees that I CRY about them... I'm so sensitive and I know how to make the place better." They are jerking off their egos onto the collective face of humanity by putting this up on YouTube.
We agree on one thing; that trees are important and the environment shouldn't be tampered with.
We disagree on another thing; that these people have a trite message that makes my stomach hurt because it is so embarassing and pathetic.
Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. You are free... free to do what the government says you can do.
It's not that I love man less, it's just that I love nature more
who said it?
love it.
don't watch you tube at work, but well, trees are important no?
if someone wants to cry over em, more power to em. hurts no one.
just don't take bereavement leave over your pet, or dunk will hunt you down.
this is true.
i'm in the "i find this pathetic" club on this thread topic... whilst it does indeed not hurt anyone as people have said.. it does make me feel more embarrassed than watching a 1992 video of PJ on youtube where Jeff is wearing 4 pairs of shorts and a really stupid hat.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"
I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world
It's not that I love man less, it's just that I love nature more

Maybe we should go back to spiking trees and guerrilla tactics. Wait, that just got us labeled as environmental terrorists. It's a no win situation and the people who should care, plain and simply don't. All you people saying you support the environment but find this pathetic. Just what the fuck do you actually do? I bet it is a whole lot of sitting around making fun of those who are actually attempting to help your short-sighted asses.

they sit around on message boards and call people names ... i love how they preface how they care about nature tho ... i'm guessing they really don't ...
this is a post below that video. It is exactly what I was thinking:
"I wonder how many people watching this video, laughing at these people's emotional outbursts over trees believe in a magical man who can reward them with eternal life who actively monitors their day to day life.
Look in the mirror. Crazy is crazy, no matter how you spin it. "
I'm also wondering who's crying for the blades of grass that these people are so calously crushing with their dirty bums as they sit and cry and hard shoes as they walk on by?
Grass?
yes, that other living being that they trampled on to get to the tree they are crying about. I totally get the message they are trying to send, I just meant "where does it end?". Honestly, I can identify with these people more than I can with religious fundamentalists/extremists, as these people worship something they can see and touch, and the "blade of grass" comment was more in jest than anything, but I think it's a decent point. Do none of these people drive a car that slowly kill vegetation from the pollution? What about heating their homes? What about the processing of the food they eat? Do they not use paper? Pencils?

Why should that be pathetic? There isn't one thing about a tree that isn't beautiful, and you know, the whole oxygen thing as well. Humans, on the other hand, are the must ugly, vile, destructive species to have ever existed. We are killing everything. I should think crying about dead people is more pathetic than crying about dead trees.

it's pathetic because it is. It's pathetic to me just as it was pathetic to me when i watched morons throw flowers onto Princess Diana's hearse... the same people who probably cry when their favourite person wins American Idol and shit like that... and trees are beautiful, but then so is Zooey Deschanel.
so you think crying about a dead loved one is more pathetic than crying about a tree? I think that speaks volumes... i also think you're saying it for dramatic effect... You're getting pissed off because some people don't think it's ok to cry about dead trees... those same people will get pissed off because of your lack of emotion in regards to a dead human. its the same thing.

Why don't you off yourself then??? And I hope that last sentence is a purely emotional response. That is the most ridiculous I have ever heard. You have no relation with a tree, no shared emotions or anything.

Im just curious. So you think logging fucks should be kicked in the teeth. Do you enjoy the furniture in your house or would you rather sit on the floor. Do you enjoy your counter tops and your cabinets ? or would you rather just stack every thing on the floor ? oh wait.. If it weren't for those loggers you might not even have a sub-floor. That is if you don't have a slab house. ? Did it ever occur to you that a lot of the loggers that you wish to hurt actually plant seedlings and actually do care.
I know that there are some that have done a lot of damage. I get that but I think you should realize that theere are many regulations in place when it comes to logging in America. Not to mention they are some tough MOTHERFUCKERS and you might want to think twice about that.
These are some stats just in Orgeon.
Fun and Interesting
It takes one tree every year per person to meet their needs for paper, packaging, lumber, fiber compounds and panel products.
Oregon's most abundant tree is the Douglas-fir, which is also Oregon's state tree. 80% of all trees West of the Cascades are Douglas-firs.
One of the largest wildfires in Oregon was the Tillamook Burn that occurred between 1933 and 1951. The combination of the four fires in this time destroyed 360,882 acres.
Despite the rapid growth of agriculture, the development of cities, highways, industrial areas and electric transmission lines there is nearly the same amount of Forestland today as there was 300 years ago.
Oregon sells its wood and paper products in all 50 states and approximately 40 countries. This includes lumber, panels and engineered wood products, millwork, household, pulp and paper products.
Stats and Figures
28 million out of Oregon’s 62 million-acre land base is forestland, or about 46% of the state’s total landmass.
The forestry products industry is the second largest industry in Oregon generating sales of approximately 13 billion dollars and employing 75,000 Oregonians. This includes, but not limited to, logging and trucking companies, sawmills and pulp and paper manufacturing operations.
About 57% of all forestland in Oregon are owned by the federal government. In 2005, more than 2.5 million tree seedlings were planted on federal government lands.
In Oregon growth rates exceed harvest rates by a wide margin. The long-term sustainable timber harvest is approximately 7.5 billion board feet a year, according to a study by Oregon State University.
Every timber harvest in Oregon generates funds to be used by local, county and state governments. Currently, 60% of revenues from state timber sales go to local counties and schools.
Laws and Regulations
Reforestation is required to start within 1 year after every harvest and it must be completed within 2 years.
Within a single ownership clearcuts are limited to 120 acres. Clearcuts also cannot take place within 300 feet of another clearcut under the same ownership until the area is successfully reforested.
Oregon Forest Practices Act (1971) - Regulates forest operations to protect a wide range of resources, including water quality, fish and other wildlife. Oregon practices this regulation by performing the following:
Provide comprehensive riparian area protection
Assure water quality, fish habitat and wetlands are guarded
Protect wildlife habitat and diversity by retaining sensitive sites, snags and down-wood
Promote landscape structure and aesthetics by limiting regeneration harvest unit size
Reforest within two years after harvest with a mix of native tree species
Maintain forest productivity by minimizing soil disturbance and promote growth
Minimize resource impact of road by applying strict construction and maintenance standards
Requiring permits before harvesting
Common School Lands – When Oregon became a state in 1859 the federal government granted 124,000 acres (16%) of forestland located primarily in the Elliott State Forest. The Oregon Department of Forestry manages the forests through an agreement with the Department of State Lands. Revenue generated from these lands goes to the Common School Fund, which goes towards public education in Oregon.

Who are you to say what is good for the earth. You have no shread of evidence that the earth is being destroyed by anything thing that we do. News flash - You can't save the world, you don't know what it takes to save the world, nor do you knwo if the world needs saving. There isn't a shred of evidence that the health of our planet is in big trouble? Really? That has to be the most ignorant thing I have ever heard. Just about every eco-system you can point out is in a dramatic state of decline. The oceans are in huge trouble. The reefs are in huge trouble. The air is in trouble. Water samples from the highest mountains are now showing levels of toxicity, which means the cycle is threatened from the top down; it can longer keep up with the filtering of all our poison. Natural resources are not infinite, and coupled with human population still growing at alarming and exponential rates, what do you think is going to happen? The health of this big blue ball is far more important to me than anyone's job.
I eat human babies. So should everyone.

I could post a thousand links clearly outlining the concerns of biologists and other scientists, (you know the people who actually study this stuff and know how to spell) but I'm sure it would fall on deaf ears, or blind eyes, as the case may be. You want to believe it isn't a problem, fine, good luck with that.

Oh, good fucking god. You don't know how to use google? Go do a search on overpopulation, go do a search on overfishing, go to a search on water quality studies, go do a search on deforestation, go do a search on the environmental aftermath of mining operations, go do a search on the health of our planet's reefs. Do your own fucking homework, if you really care. But you don't. I know that.
I mostly eat local organic foods. Here is the farm I shop from. http://ngorganics.com/
All life competes for resources. However, we as humans are smart enough to do it right. We could embrace all renewable energy sources. We just don't want to make any kind of sacrifice to make that happen. Mostly because of people like you.

Because I'd much rather "off" the motherfuckers destroying this planet, not the ones trying to save it.

Good point but come on...
They are peaceful people and all but the person screaming at the end looked like a total attention/look at me person.

Who are you to say what is good for the earth. You have no shread of evidence that the earth is being destroyed by anything thing that we do. News flash - You can't save the world, you don't know what it takes to save the world, nor do you knwo if the world needs saving. It is pathetic that you want to kill Loggers (Fathers, mothers, contributers to society) because they are cutting down trees. Let me ask you a question... What do you eat?[/quote]

Was that man made? NO. the eco system changes. Its been here for a long time and has endured much more eco-system trouble than today.
There is also no proof that overpopulation is a problem, and that the earth can't hold it. I asked what you ate because yoru a hypocrite, If you eat anything from the earth yoru a hypocrite because you are messing up nature.
who cares what they look like!?? ... they are doing there thing ... most people don't understand what kind of ceremony this is ... so, all some people here are doing are making fun of things they know nothing about ...

You also didn't answer my question on what you eat.
Are you seriously using the argument that because he eats - he is destroying nature? :(
Oh, good fucking god.

All life competes for resources. However, we as humans are smart enough to do it right. We could embrace all renewable energy sources. We just don't want to make any kind of sacrifice to make that happen. Mostly because of people like you.
