I've just never really understood that much...is it really that painful to see a thread that doesn't belong?

- In the month before the election, with then-candidate Obama leading in every poll, the stock market (DOW) plummeted from roughly 11,500 to about 9,000. In the 5 months post Inauguration, the Dow from about 9,000 to 6,500. Since, then of course, the market has recovered to about 10,000.
- The unemployment rate was 6.9% in the November he was elected, it increased to over 7% by January. His campaign ran on the fact that the unemployment rate would not surpass 8.5%. It increased 3 percentage points and went up to 10.1% within his first year,,... and is currently sitting at 9.7%.
- President Obama ran on getting out of the war. He's done very little there.
- President Obama and his die-hard supporters claimed that he was not a socialist, yet in less than two years he has taken over more private enterprise, in dollar value, than any sitting president ever. Not saying he's a socialist, but socialism is defined as an "economic theory based on public ownership of means of production and allocation of resources". There's nothing wrong with being a socialist, mind you. I say, just admit it when you are one.
- People claim that President Obama inherited the recession. In fact, the text-book definition of a recession is 2 quarters of negative GDP growth. Obama was elected in Nov of 2008. The second consectutive quarter of negative GDP growth was in the 4th quarter of 2008. So, did he inherit a recession? Most likely, the truth is yes. But, was it going on for long before he was elected? No... in fact, it began as soon as he was elected.
***P.S. I do not think Obama is the worst President ever. I also don't think Bush was. I think they are/were both middle of the road Presidents, that unfortunately are/were not very lucky... like Clinton for instance, who inherited a booming tech bubble... he was lucky. In my opinion, the FED does more to sway the economy than the President does. Yet, the President gets the blame/praise. The FED should get more attention/blame. In my opinion, Greenspan caused The Great Recession by keeping interest rates too low post-911... that built demand for housing, which caused the housing bubble... when rates reset (on ARMS ect), speculators bailed... and housing crashed... which spilled-over into the housing-related recession we went through and the aftermath we are now in. But, just wait, cause another smaller recession is on its way.

it's not socialism and he did NOT take over those companies and industries, at least i haven't gotten my check for my cut, have you?
also, Bush wasn't factoring in the cost of the war into the deficit, which obama did, so naturally when the trillion+ amount was added the deficit skyrocketed even though it was always that way, just not factored in.
anyone remember when Obama's chief economic policy advisor supposedly said Obama's talk about renegotiating NAFTA was “more reflective of political maneuvering than policy.” and Obama denied it and all his supporters backed it up saying it was a lie and how he'd prove us all wrong? what ever happened with that?
oh, right, after he won the democratic nomination he did a 180 and said:
"Sometimes during campaigns the rhetoric gets overheated and amplified," he conceded, after I reminded him that he had called NAFTA "devastating" and "a big mistake," despite nonpartisan studies concluding that the trade zone has had a mild, positive effect on the U.S. economy.
Does that mean his rhetoric was overheated and amplified? "Politicians are always guilty of that, and I don't exempt myself," he answered.
don't compete; coexist
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
no more forever."
Chief Joseph - Nez Perce

I think the fact that they are ALL attorneys is why none of them should be trusted...
