My sister and I snuck into section 47 and wanted to say thanks to those who harbored us from security. I moved from NY to Cali 2 years ago and was at LA 2. Good show, but please, nothing compares to the Garden. It was an honor to come home and be a part of this crowd. This is a must own boot. Breathe, slow Lukin and Hunger Strike are definitely life long memories. My favorite opener is Release, favorite cover is Needle and the Damage Done, favorite show... this one. Thank you to all the out of towners and native New Yorkers for showing no quit and for getting stronger as the show went on. Most of all, thanks to the band for enhancing our lives.
As others have said, an amazing show tonight. Not only did they play great songs, but they were simply the best live versions of many I've heard - I don't even like Betterman any more, but I won't ever forget the sign-along tonight. The real me - are you kidding me - absolutely nailed it. Hungerstrike with Ben was awesome - he was so pumped to be up there with PJ. And many many more. This will be an instant boot purchase. Love you PJ. Goodnight and thank you.
I think somebody around here said it the other day, but these guys really our my generations The Who...The Rolling Stones....[insert whatever you'd like] - they are putting on some of the best concerts of their lives right now, just happy to be a part of it.
ok, i probably say that after every show, because of how AMAZING and inventive and continuously surpising this band is, but seriously, i think this topped philly 3 for me, well it's no use comparing. Simply put it was a very special night. THe CROWD was amazing - what wonderful vibes all around.
Eddie talked to the crowd a bit more than last night - one of those nights when if feels like the connection is just really THERE.
nothingman, breath, the incredibly slow lukin!, BRY, first time i ever heard better man live - finally - what a crowd moment.
will be riding this high for a while!
So this was one of those shows. No doubt about it. Was there last night, and walked away feeling it was good but close enough to ordinary. But MSG II, damnit. Lets' journey through here
* I think you get the sense something is up when the band casually tosses out "Breath" as the 6th song like it was Corduroy. Then into a great version of Nothingman and a chilling version of I'm Open. Thats a hell of a 6-7-8 on the playlist.
* Push Me, Pull Me & Rats round out the first set mysteries. By the way, Not For You and Daughter are tagged... the first of FIVE tagged songs on the night. When's the last time that happened??
* If I had to pick one highlight: Slow Lukin'. That was insane. And it barely gave us time to appreciate Black,Red,Yellow. [Funny aside. Someone in front of my had a BRY sign hoping for a rarity. But they didnt realize it was being played until it was half over LOL. Then they ripped the sign out of their pocket and were excited] Great song live and this thing was crazy at this point.
* Sweet Lew... lets be honest here: its a horrible song lol. Fun rarity. The crowd was really juiced up for Given to Fly/Spin/ and especially an awwwwwesome version of RVM to end encore #1.
* Black and Better Man... both tagged. The pause in Better Man was loud as HELL. Probably not as long as that one in Boston1 from 2008 but pretty damn good. The tag on Black was heart-wrenching.
* Hunger Strike was cool. The moments were better than the set indicates IMO.
* One of my favorite parts: Eddie is chattering after Alive and all of a sudden screams "Lets KICK OUT THE JAAAAAAAAAAMS" lol. That was better even than the song to me. Then YL to close it out and a fairly good Star-Spangled Banner tag on it as well.
When you rank the best shows of all time... this one gets to be in the conversation.

I'm wondering this myself. Maybe it's the hometown bias and that it just happened, but I think this was my favorite show I've been to even going to all 4 Phillies.
OHHHHH. And I was very surprised at how good Ben sounded on Hunger Strike. Granted the crowd was very loud at that point where I couldn't really tell if he was hitting the high high notes, but from what I could tell he did a really great job with Chris's parts.
First show I've ever been to at MSG, not just pearl jam and i couldnt believe how incredible it was. The sound quality was TOP FUCKING NOTCH. The crowd was also insane!!!! This was my 5th PJ show and it was by far the best.
Highlights:
every song! So much TBH
but I will say that u normally don't care for Betterman, but it totally blew my mind tonight with that crowd. The intro was just the entire crowd singing, and the floor shook for the rest of it.
Oh and Lukin was incredible. Whoever wasn't there needs to hear it. The slowed down version was just something where you had to be there. totally beats normal lukin honestly
If you were there than you understand - what happened between us the crowd and them the band made something called Pearl Jam Live
That show will go down in History as one of the best shows to ever have been played on the planet ever!
If Pearl Jam never played again that was the Rock Concert to go out on.
I was kind of bummed because the songs I wanted most out of this tour (sad, crown of thorns, release) were played in Boston and i was at Hartford and both MSGs, but tonight was perfect. Exactily what I need and my favorite of the 4 garden shows I've ween.
I wasn't impressed with last night because it basically felt like Hartford & Newark in one show (wayy too many repeats. You Are, Insignificance and once 2 shows in a row? Indifference 3 shows in a row?) but I have a smile on my face that nothing can take off after tonight
The classics were performed in top form, the rarities were placed perfectly and played well, the band was firing on all cylanders and the crowd 100% matched the bands intensity.
Have fun in Europe, boys (I wish i could go so bad..)
under your tongue, im like a tab.. i will give you what your not supposed to have
in wide open spaces we sing, with strings.. launch a full on musical cannonball.. guided by bells that we bring, they ring.. sound for the sky and the sun, our own waterfall...
one with the raging wind, alive on the highest tides, my ship at sail can climb a mountain.. ride it to the sky
A HUGE fan from Puerto Rico...just got i was waiting for!!!!!!!!!!!!! Liked MSG 1 a bit more- maybe it was cause i had first row @ end stage. Highlights were Hunger strike..Lukin, Given to fly (lot of energy). Will be taking my flight back hoping for an MSG 3! See you soon!!!! and please play Footsteps and Man of the Hour!
Tampa 08, MSG 5/20/2010, MSG 5/21/2010, Wrigley 2013
There is one word to describe this show. EPIC. I brought a friend who never saw them. He said it was the best concert he has ever seen. He knew none of the songs. This show was amazing from the start. They came out firing on all cylinders. I couldnt even hear eddie singing in some songs the crowd was so loud. The set list was awesome. The crowd was godly. This band is so good becuase they go all out every show. The connection with the band and the crowd is amazing. During betterman i think ed started to tear up. The crowd was singing so loud. Just an amazing show. I was at philly 4. This show def had more juice and energy. I think this show was better than philly 4 and philly 4 was a fucking great concert.

I have seen at least ten shows, and I have never heard anything as wonderful as tonight. The crowd was one with the band, the setlist was perfect, the vibe was amazing, Hunger Strike was special. New York fans should be way proud of tonight. Eddy and the band had to appreciate the love they received and most deserving I must say. Crowd at Garden is best in the world period. Cannot be topped.

Yeah, maybe I'm wrong but Eddie seemed really emotional during the 2nd encore.
I guess this isn't really a fan view, technically, because I got scammed and bought a counterfeit ticket. Never made it in. My unlucky 13th show, apparently. Happy for everyone who was there to see this amazing set.
Fuck. Never been so disappointed. Hope to catch them later this year to make up for it. Maybe I will finally hear Breath.
Meh.

I wore my "OOPS! You ripped our face off! We'll be right back." T-shirt and wound up with winning the 10c. lotto. 10th row aisle seats, Mikes side. My wife smiled all night...at Mike. Good Times
2010 MSG1, while very good, did not do the Big Apple justice. No offense, but no one expects to hear that the crowd in Columbus was the loudest ever. Certain things are expected of MSG and of New Yorker’s in general. The crowd for night one was dead until they starting playing songs from Ten. Night two was AMAZING! The energy of this show was almost on a Philly 10/31/09 level, and I was stuck in the 400s with a bunch of people that didn’t know Rats. I can only imagine what it was like to have a good seat for this show. It is hard to please the newbie and the diehard, but that is exactly what they did this weekend. It was a great mix (17 shows and that was my first Hunger Strike). We can all hope for another 3:40+ show, but it’s not coming anytime soon. This is one very happy fan. Tomorrow I go back to hoping for the next one.
