I don't post often but like so many I feel the need to share my thoughts. Last week was amazing as I attended 4 shows (Hartford, Newark, MSG1 & MSG2). They were all great for various reasons but MSG2 just took it to another level. I think so many elements came together a Friday night show in NYC at the "Worlds most famous arena" with the most amazing crowd I have ever been a part of. I believe PJ fed off the energy that we all brought and as they kicked it up notch we did as well. They gave us a great mix of songs from from the rarities that so many of us hope we get at shows like Push me Pull me, Black Red Yellow. They also gave plenty for the average fan to be excited about opening with Corduroy and blasting through some great versions of Evolution, Not for You, Present Tense and Why Go all in the main set. When they played Breath in the main set I new we were in for a special show. Lukin II was amazing a complete shock, this is why I try and make as many shows as possible. I heard 3 different versions of this song at last weeks show from the normal punk version to one with the string quartet and now a beautiful slow acoustic version that left me in awe. Given to Fly, STBC and Rearviewmirror to close out the fist encore was truly amazing to witness. The crowd was ready to explode at that point and it finally happened during Betterman. To hear the crowd sing that loud but more importantly cheer for what had to be a minute after the first verse was the best thank you we could have given them. It was one of those special moments that I will never forget. It just continued with a great version of Black but when I thought I have seen it all in my 30+ PJ shows they played Hunger Strike. I actually heard them play this once before in 2003 at Holmdel, NJ but like so many songs this night they just seemed to be played better then they ever have that night. Closing the show with Yellow ledbetter always seems to be the best way to close out a PJ show and this was so fitting to end a great night and a great 4 shows for me. After attending the Spectrum shows I can't believe this band could still leave me leaving a show in amazement but they some how still do. We are so lucky to have this band giving us everything they have everytime they take the stage.

5/21 was an emotional show. I felt a something like a trance come over me as the crowd and the band were just feeding each other. My friend, and future Principle, felt the same way. Just amazing. My girlfriend, who isn't a huge fan of PJ, said that this show was like nothing she ever experienced before. It was a beautiful thing. Thanks to the fans, and the greatest band in the world.

Been reading these posts for the past few days and its great to hear so many different
takes on one thing we pretty much agree on......PEARL JAM IS ONE FRIGGIN AMAZING BAND!
From start to finish it was perfect.I took my 20 year old daughter to her first PJ show and I
must say I think she gets it why me and a few of my friends try to see these guys as many times as our wallets allow.I took my 15 year old to Philly 4 and it was a very emotional night saying goodbye to that relic of a venue.
Growing up in Central Jersey I pretty much always went to NYC all the time,But we never passed an opportunity
to head to Philly for a show... I kind of lost my train of thought and I am just trying to say how great it was to rock out for 2 !/2 hours with my daughter next to me having a good ole time I dont view her Facebook page but I
am sure there are some unflattering pics of her old mans head a bobbing and arms a flailing
I never complain after any shows because I really dont give a rats ass what they play. Its their
band! MSG2 was my 28th and every time I have heard at least 1 song for the first time....
These guys bring it every time.Friday was the about the best crowd I have ever seen.
We were on the floor in the front of sect 5 and It was amazing looking around the garden seeing everyone on their feet singing, clapping, rocking.......Priceless
After The 4 Incredible Spectrum Shows and The Garden 2 I really am trying to Justify an
Atlantic Crossing this summer. The Biggest Problem is I have 2 Daughters and can only get 2 Ten Club
Tickets For each show! Thanks Pearl Jam and Thanks To all my fellow JamHeads out there!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off - been a fan of the band since '92 - passing the cassette back and forth to my buddy on the beach at Cape Cod for 2 weeks that summer. For one reason or another (at times a kid w/no car, hottest band on the planet, war with ticketmaster, shunning fame, being an idiot and not joining the 10c, etc) I was never able to see them until 2000 when I finally signed up for the 10c. Seen them 4 more times since then and never thought that show @ SPAC could be topped for me personally. 8+ years is a long time to wait to finally experience a band that forever changed the way you listened to music back when you were 16 years old.

As for Friday, having never been to the Garden, just knowing the history of acts to play there is enough to know that any band worth a damn is going to give EVERYTHING on that stage. I knew Pearl Jam wouldn't disappoint. The layout of the building, the energy of the crowd and the band made 19,000+ seem intimate. I can't say anything here about the setlist and performances that haven't already been said. What I can say is that the experience made me write an account of the night to that friend I shared Ten with many summers ago. He simply said "Talk about passion. It sure poured out in your writing. Good stuff. I wished I was there, but now I am ready to pay to go fly and see the next show." I think that pretty well summed it up. I almost don't want to see them again... how can that pent up first verse of Betterman when Ed FINALLY turn the mic over to the crowd, all the emotion, the shared respect between fan and band be topped? Its a place that I don't want to leave.

Thanks to the 10c for nice seats on the floor, the band and the fans for an amazing 1st experience in MSG. It only took 10 years of keeping up the membership to feel the energy on floor!

Its been quite a while since I've written a review about a show. Everyone that knows me KNOWS that i am not the type to go to shows to compare or complain or even brag. However.......I've been to some of the best shows including Philly last year. Everyone hyped them up and said Philly would be the best of all time. While I am not a big fan of the city itself, the shows were GREAT. I always tell people that Boston shows are the ones you NEVER want to miss. The Newark SETLIST (not the crowd)was AMAZING!!! I got my Immortality that I requested!!! :D Hartford was unbelievable. I felt like I was home during the show because there was so much energy and comfort and FUN going on. Plus, Pearl Jam shows are the only place you feel normal for speaking in lyrics or being hyper over music!!! :D

Now MSG.........WOOOOOOOOOO!!! THAT PLACE is where the boys should ALWAYS only play. Keep in mind that I am from California so this is not an east coast pride thing. Somehow all the east coast always thinks they are better-Boston is better than New York, New York is better than everywhere else and on and on. The thing is? EVERYONE came from different states, countries, coasts, to make up the MSG crowd. That place, that crowd, that ENERGY is the best I have ever seen!!! I dont EVER complain about crowds cuz who the eff cares! But when ure at Newark and the ENTIRE section is sitting, its noticeable! MSG, EVERYONE was up on their feet! The people nexxxt to me were standing and jumping and fist pumping (not like champs) :D and when they sat out a song or two, they were still singing!!! People at MSG were effin EXXXCITED!!!! I heard some of the "locals" say the crowd wasnt that good. Thats SNOBVILLE speak!!!! I took time to look around and view the crowd because its as if everyone was in love with the band. I stopped to get video footage on friday night because i effin LOVED that everyone was dancing, jumping, singing at the top of their lungs. MSG definitely knows how to party. I feel very fortunate to have been a part of these shows and I will ALWAYS see a show there. Great crowd great energy great performance by the boys. The crowd participation for Betterman was INSANE. THAT is the way to do shows baby! The only thing that pissed me off beyond belief was that there was no EVENFLOW friday night. ON FLOWIN FRIDAY!!!!! WTF!!!!!!

Thanks to EVERYONE that was there for making up the best crowd ever during my first MSG exxxperience. Vinn, you were missed for sure! Sweet Slu....i LOVE you and LOVE being EXXXCITED with you!!!! Thanks ten club for not letting me win the lottery because our seats were FANTASTIC and allowed us to make the show even more special by sharing seats with family. Another time another place. And the east coast exxxperience would be like plain and bland dumpy pea soup without "Spicy Special Sauce" that makes EVERYTHING fabulous!!! ;) Thank You!

This post needs to be centered
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?

I FINALLY FOUND THE WORDS TO DESCRIBE THIS

So it's 4 days later and I am sitting at the pool in Vegas and a book lent to me by the great CDP has the perfect description..

From Paul Feig's Superstud... (Great BTW)

"There was something about the all-encompassing power and volume of the music and otherworldliness of the flashing lights and being surrounded by people who were talented and creative and not the kind of people who were mean to you or wanted to beat you up that all combined to make one of those magical moments that sometimes occur in your life-where you feel transported out of your body, away from all your earthy cares; in which you see the world in a different light, as a collection of people and energy, and you suddenly love it all and want to experience it all."

Glad I could share it with all of you and my kid...
Yeah....I told you it was a great book. I had forgotten that passage....says it way better than I ever could. I still haven't found the words to describe my time at both shows. Maybe I'm just still drunk. That could be it.

I have nothing to add to the fanviews. It’s all been said. The set, the crowd, the atmosphere…unreal. I've been hoping for Tremor Christ forever, and didn't get it at either show....but...getting Push Me Pull Me made up for it a million times over. I love that song and never dreamed I'd hear it live. Slukin ruled.

Thanks to everyone who was there for their part in making this show the best I’ve ever seen. That’s saying a LOT. The band was on top of their game and gave it their all. The fans were everything I had hoped. Seeing friends I’ve made on previous tours, from all over the continent, was as great as I knew it would be.
The city was amazing. Don’t know where the rude NY’er rap comes from, everyone I met was beyond friendly. It was just a perfect trip altogether….without Pearl Jam it never would have happened, and I’d never have met any of the great people I keep meeting thru our common love for PJ’s music.
    THANK YOU!

If they stuck with an end stage seating chart and didn't sell behind the stage they could probably sell out 4 with no trouble at all. I would go as far to say 5 if it was on a holiday weekend. Like a Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat, Mon

most amazing show!! band, crowd, venue....amazingly absurd!! i went to hartford, boston, msg1 and msg2 and left every nite wondering how it could get better, yet somehow it did!! i hit 6 shows on the west coast last year, and though those were all solid performances, all 4 in the northeast were where it was at!!!.....my only regret is my dumb ass losing my camera drunk in a taxi after msg1, with 3 shows of pearl jam pictures as well as my whole east coast trip i traveled a great distance and spent a ton of cash doing. i even had a great photo of eddie in hartford making direct eye contact with my camera while pointing into it, awesome...so basically this a pitch to get msg2 or something of this tour on dvd to go along with the bootlegs, since i don't have my pics.....done!

I am so freakin lucky to have seen so many epic PJ shows through the years, but this one rocked my face off. It was if the band was just relentlessly playing their asses off on every song, nonstop. They left nothing on that stage. All has been said, but the crowd singing Better Man without Eddie was incredibly powerful. I've been to shows where Eddie stops singing or lets the crowd take over (a few times on Elderly Woman), but this time it was almost as if the crowd was so loud that Eddie was awed and taking it in - like he didn't even plan to do it, but the crowd was so energetic he felt he had to step back.

And the Given to Fly, Spin the Black Circle, Rearviewmirror combo ending Encore 1 was the single best three song ending to a set I have or will ever see.
