Band came on the stage at 8:55 and left around 11:110-11:20pm
Sucks the garden curfew is getting the hammer these days. Maybe pj can work out a deal for todays show or just say fuck it and pay da fine.
Hey over bends nice fanview post. Ya typical fucking new yawker.
Hey Metsy...
I take it ya had a good time????
I saw a guy wearing a Cincy 2006 shirt and immediately thought of you..

Did anyone catch ev say something to the effect - you better bring it tomorrow because you didn't tonight- near the end of the show? PJ was stellar and it was a good concert. Epic? Not by any means. You peeps better rock it out tomorrow or else. And if you did tonight, keep on keepin on!
lol
he said the opposite
"you brought it tonite, bring it tomorrow"
Good show far from epic, crowd was loud.I thought the 08 crowds were louder but this was a good crowd.Loved the sometimes into breakerfall start. Down into I got shit was amazing as well. After the strings went away encore 1 rocked.solat could be played 3 times every show and I'd never get sick of it.This show ranks at about 8-10 of my 15 shows I've been too.can't wait for tomorrow, bring on breathe,no way, tremorchrist, dirtyfrank, and immorality

i actually think tonights crowd was louder then either 08 show but could be just cause of diff seats i think this..and im hoping for those same songs tomorrow
MSG = the spectrum on steroids. I love MSG and the NY crowds.
main set was amazing, especially the first few songs. encores left something to be desired (though Alive, Porch and Indifference were incredible as always). please retire the end and JB at PJ shows...EV save em for your solo gigs
My first floor experience for pj as I sat a few feet over from center ice. I was at the Hartford show and that night may not be touched on this leg, but tonight was a really good show. I thought the band was building to rocking the stage again, but songs like Force of Nature really acted like speed bumps (good song, but look what was played before it). The 2nd set was solid, but the third set really brought the room back up to the top. Ed's dedications tonight (especially for the father whose son posted a moving letter of his struggles on these boards) reminded me how these guys touch our lives. I wish I could be with you for night two!
hard for me to say, as I was in 302, but the crowd seemed lackluster to me. I certainly can't speak for the crowd as a whole, but the folks near me kinda sucked. That said, the show was great. MSG gets so overhyped, so if you go in expecting special guests and super-rarities, you'll be disappointed. if you go in hoping for another great show, you'll leave happy. Love, LOVE, Sometimes to start the show. Very strong/fast 1st set. Lowlight is always a treat, and aside from Elderly Woman...there wasn't much of a "break" if my wife were there tonight, she would have been disappointed. But i loved it. Much like Hartford, i couldn't believe the 1st set ended when it did....it just flew by. SOOOO happy to get Force of Nature. I love the song, but never thought of it as " a song about someone in a bad relationship" as Ed noted. Down/I Got shit/Army reserve....Holy Fuck! amazing! Great show, can't wait to see what tonight has in store. Black? Breath?

agreed
This crowd blew away the 08 crowds by a lot. It just had a different feel then 08. During LROM I couldn't tell if it was the who or pearl jam on stage. Crowd was very into it. Boom nailed the intro much better then 08.
Ok I'm not gonna lie when ed started mentioning pete I really thought pete was gonna come out on stage and play with the band. He just seemed to go on forever bout pete. Lol.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
tonight was just a very FUN feeling show all around; between the band and crowd.
the setlist wasn't as mind blowing as boston and neither was the crowd (though both were verrry good). but STILL it was truly an amazing experience, as it always is.
very cool to see i am mine make it back in the rotation. FINALLY got army reserve after 12 shows! that was huge! it was even better when it was followed by insignificance. grouping the 2 war songs together was sweet! you are and mankind in encores were super cool! LOVED sometimes into breakerfall.
just an all around AWESOME SHOW!!
cannot wait for tomorrow! i really hope it brings the rarities!
so far from what i've been to this tour i have to say:
#1 = boston
#2 = hartford & msg 1 (equal)
all amazing though, as we all know!
2006: Hartford
2008: MSG 1, Hartford, Mansfield 2, Ed Solo NYC 1
2009: London (O2), Philly 1, 2, 3, & 4

2011: Ed Solo Hartford
2012: Philly (MIA Fest)
2013: Worcester 2, Brooklyn 1 & 2, Hartford
Concert was AWESOME!! I stuck around afterwards with a handful of people outside the Garden hoping to catch a glimpse of the band, and got to meet Eddie himself!!! Security wouldn't let us take any pictures, but Eddie was super cool... he shook everyone's hands, chatted with everyone for a few minutes and even gave this girl who told him she a guitarist in a band his last guitar pick... Such a class act!!
The setlist was pretty good with a lot of different songs. The crowd was not all that great and would rate it 3rd behind Hartford and Boston out of my 3 other shows this month. The building gives more than the NY crowd.

I don't care what anyone says about rarities, this is an amazing setlist. I was awake all night with a fever and temp was 39+ at it's peak so all I could do to pass the time was watch the setlist thread on my phone. They seemed to rush through so many songs during that first hour and that's the kind of thing I love when Ed isn't ranting and just lets the songs speak. Great to see the dedications which mean so much aren't getting ignored. A lot of bitching on the setlist thread last night that always gets in the way of what's happening at the show and makes it impossible to try and make your own comments. Sometimes is my favourite PJ song and I really hope to hear it at one of my 4 shows next month, don't know why it has to be reserved as an opener because it really needs to be heard more. Expect to see NAIS, Rats, Breath, Garden, Black, Red & Yellow, RITFW, All Or None and Go amongst many others tonight. Maybe it's different when you're there but the only thing I'd complain about is the frequency on this tour that they play The End and Just Breathe, nice songs that I'd rather hear at home. Hope Drum Machine 89 is enjoying his stay in NY, come back to Scotland mate and share the rain! Last thing, why on earth does everything have to be described as "sick" these days? Silly phrase!!
Like a book among the many on a shelf...
Dublin 02 Arena - 22/6/10. Belfast Odyssey Arena - 23/6/10. London Hyde Park - 25/6/10. Berlin Wuhlheide - 30/6/10.

The lack of rarities doesn't bother me one little bit. Good to see they are sticking to the songs they know they can play the best. Everyone has a good time.
an average setlist at best. mankind is nice, but why everyone is so jacked about this show i dont get it.
very UN-EPIC

The only way not to be jacked about last night's show is if you weren't there. The truth is I think these guys do not put on anything but an amazing concert and whether or not people consider a show great or epic or not great has largely to do with their own frame of reference, ie, where they sat, who they were with, what drugs they took, if their favorite few songs got played, if they need rarities to think a show is good.
Although I will say I enjoyed last night MUCH more than '08. Much higher energy and a much better flow - there really was never a letdown, nobody sat ever (except the Olsen twins, apparently).
PJ was great, as they usually are at the garden. The crowd was really good too! I feel bad for those who missed The Black Keys though. They were great, and brought out Ezra Koenig(Vocals, Guitar) and Rostam Batmanglij(Percussion, Keyboard).
Seems a little like Nijmegen in 2007 - on paper, doesn't look so mindblowing (except the # of songs) but in reality, sounds like it was a great show.
