Bryson talking to the crowd during a major will bring more viewers to golf. The talking heads at NLU and Fried Egg think NBC and CBS can just magically make golf more interesting. The networks are stuck with the players. So putting a microphone on Colin Morikawa ain’t going to be interesting. Need Bryson, Spieth, JT and others to make it interesting to listen to. Spieth and JT are relics though. First of the young phenoms and now old and washed up.

I had forgotten why I started hating Bryson to begin with, and then they keep showing the pics with him wearing the Payne hat and I remembered pretty quickly. He looked like such a douche when he went pro.

Him not wearing that hat anymore has made him much more likable. Still a douche but not as bad as he used to be.

He'll never do it. And even if Rory went, people still won't watch LIV. Rahm going didn't seem to make much of a difference. I've tried several times to watch it but I just can't get into it. It goes against everything golf used to be. At worst they're bringing back the headaches of guaranteed contracts the other major sports have but without the team loyalties that we enjoy in the major American sports. You just can't recreate that team magic like Liv is trying to do.

Without the team magic and without the drama of having to win to earn money, the week to week excitement of the tour is drastically diminished, thanks to the Saudis and thanks to the liv golfers

And any of these liv Saudi defectors realize that they benefited enormously by the PGA keeping so many open slots for young unproven golfers?

I wish Bryson and McIlroy were playing together. How exactly is that determined because Rory and Pavon were tied for second? I’ve always figured it’s because Pavon finished his third round first, but I’m not sure. Either way, they should do away with whatever sort of arbitrary way they determine it and give the fans what they want.

Thankfully my Bryson bet was betting without Rory, Scottie, Xander, and Morikawa because I think Rory may overtake him.
