I am surprised that NLU is taking the roll back position even though sponsored by Titleist.  JT making the comment about making the 100 yard dash longer when Augusta has to buy property every year to lengthen the holes.   Making himself look as silly as his putting game.
Speaking of him making himself look silly. He pulled out of the WGC Match Play simply because he doesn't play well at the course it's at. Talk about a loser's mentality. I've never heard a golfer or any pro athlete say something of this nature....

“(Innisbrook) is a place I love. I really, really love the golf course,” Thomas said. “I just I feel like I have a really good chance to win there if I go play. I just, I simply don’t feel that way about Austin Country Club. It’s nothing against the course. I’ve just, I’ve played it six times and I’ve played it really bad five of them.”

Translation: "That Austin Country Club course is too hard for me. So I'll pass."

He went on to say he didn't want to have any negative momentum going into Augusta.

His comments about the ball were pretty rich considering the hat he was wearing, but I don’t see a huge issue in his comments on a course. Hatton says he doesn’t like Augusta or Riv, Kisner says he has no shot at Augusta…different courses fit different players.

The NLU interview with Horschel was solid. I’m kinda indifferent on the topic though so think something needs to be done about distance. In that interview, I though Soly (NLU) had better points that horschel.

So this should be fun and looks to be coming together pretty quickly. Not 100% in stone but Looks like a guys trip to St Andrews for the Dunhill links championship. Watch some golf on the old course and carnoustie, play a couple rounds and drink a shit ton of scotch. Pretty pumped.

My stomach is in knots over this Masters Champions dinner.  I sure do hope these entitled, rich folks can get along for 2 hours.  Sorry, just tired of headlines about how the dinner may be awkward.

Great golf this weekend. They need to find a way to not only bring this back but add more match play events.

Was in Cabo last week and got to play at one of the most picturesque courses I've ever seen:

These pros like to reference that the average score is similar to what it was in the past, but fail to mention the course lengths are made longer and longer to do that, along with making the greens a lot harder to counteract the distance off the tee.   So funny that they reference the NBA and NFL aren't making the field bigger, when existing golf courses ARE making their courses longer.

Going with Rory in the 1 and done pool.  It's time for him to complete the grand slam.  One of the best weeks of the year!

It is crazy how Rory has had such a long major drought.

Scottie, to me, should be the biggest favorite since peak Tiger to win this tourney.  Would love for Rory to win, but just don't have faith that he can close out a major.  He will need at least a 3 shot lead coming into Sunday.

Fan Duel has a lot of great new bets. You can now parlay multiple players in finishing position bets. I love it. I have various bets that resemble this one.

The Masters and Augusta has such an odd dichotomy.  On one hand, it is an amazing golf course and the 2nd or 3rd best tourney of the year.    On the other hand, ANGC fits to a T all of the negative connotations of the game (rich people, exclusive, racist history, etc...).  I wonder what the purpose of ANGC really is.

What do you mean by purpose?  It is a status symbol for the "elite" and one of the best golf courses in the world,. Agreed with all the negative connotations and that all goes into it, but they've made some good strides but I am sure have a very long way to go.

What are the two or three better tourneys? Assume it obviously depends on the course of the US and British Opens?

    This is good...

Will check that link out Cliffy on the drive home.

I think The Open is the top tourney.   Depending on US Open it could sneak into the 2 spot.

No better viewing experience though than the Masters.

I generally agree, though in the instance where you have a US Open at Oakmont or Merion or Open at St Andrews, I'd look forward to that more in those particular years.

I also prefer Open's to invitationals, but the Master's is special, though a limited field event

I think part of it depends on where you live when it comes to the best tournament. As a Georgia resident, it's The Masters by a long shot. I've been privileged to work at The Masters and attend as a patron. There's no comparison in the experience that Augusta provides.

My only pre-tournament winner bet is playing well. Might be tough for him to sustain it but so far so good….
