I know he’s been a side show for probably 20 years now, but Daly, couples (family represent) and funk were my favorite golfers, pre-tiger. This sucks
What happened? Are they not playing the US Open?
    Bladder cancer

Yeah, doesn’t sound good. Dude earned every bit of it, I am sure. Still sucks.

Awful. I’m more familiar with bladder cancer than I’d like to be. Brutal and unfair disease. I just read his quotes. Seems as if he’s going to keep being John Daly and live his lifestyle. I hope he has a positive outcome.

  • The trees on courses in my area are getting ravaged by disease.  Makes these 80 year old parkland courses look pretty plain now and takes some of the difficulty away.  I don’t think there is a big concern to plant more trees as I think it is easier to maintain the course without trees.  Just read an article about it.

I’m an idiot but what is happening to them? What does disease mean? It does not seem like trees are in US golf’s future
  • Indiana has had issues with Dutch elm disease. Different types of beetles just eat away at them.

IL has problems with emerald ash borers. Had to remove several mature trees at the course I play the most. Changes things dramatically and not in a good way.

Fucking ash borer. We got them out here too, big time. Had an ash tree in my back yard removed earlier this year. Tons of dead ones in my neighborhood. Between that and these damn lantern flies, I can't imagine how many trees we're gonna lose in the next few years.

So I was watching golf channel last night. Just assumed it was a replay from last year but this Champions tour event WITH FANS was happening this weekend. I think it was in South Dakota and they haven't been hit as hard but, still pretty odd seeing so many people not socially distanced at a golf tournament. No masks either. It was a regular Trump rally up there!

Saw some of that on Saturday night....was pretty wild to see the fans there.  A lot of big names on that Champions Tour these days....Couples, Els, Vijay, Jimenez, Furyk, Stricker, etc.  I should check that out more often.

This course is going to be nasty this week.  Can't wait.
  • The rough looks insane,  I would be lucky to advance 40 yards.

He's not the putter he was "a year or two ago" would've been a better quote.

I can’t emphasize enough how bad I think live from is now. Chamblee can’t go unchecked and he is
  • Hopefully it is better when there is actual golf to talk about.

I haven't been watching.  Is it Lerner, Chamblee and Leonard?  If so, that sucks.  I like Duval and Nobilo.

Conditions supposed to worsen into the weekend though.

It's amazing to me how amateurs always look like amateurs in these tournaments. Feel like they always stick out like sore thumbs
