I was gonna say the same thing. Columbia is such a weird place for an outdoor venue

What would you say it is? A Baltimore show since it is a little closer? Jiffy Lube Live is just as far away and is considered the DC stop on a lot of tours. I guess they could have played the Verizon center as a true DC show.

I wish PJ would go back to playing Merriweather.

it's pretty much no man's land

I have seen PJ around 25 times. Verizon center had by far the worst acoustics of anywhere that I have seen them. So yeah, I'd much rather see them at Merriweather...even though it's a pain to get to

Hey all - fairly new fan of MMJ...but their music is quite addicting. Started with the Z album from 2003 and love it...my question is on next purchase - should I go pre-2003 or post-2003 with next album
    Thx in advance.....

They're great live so you can't go wrong with any of their official live stuff, I just think a band is best represented with their studio output.

sometimes yes... but I really think MMJ are so good live that their live output is equal to their studio albums.

Z came out in 2005. It Still Moves came out in 2003.

Get Okonokos next. It's their live album. It's a pretty good survey of their albums before, and up until, Z.

Sound check thing was pretty cool. Played 3 songs for about 20 minutes. chatted with us during songs about Andre Agassi and philly (which made no sense since he never lived here). Also talked about the Mann center in general.

Just occurred to me I think he got Andre Agassi mixed up with Arthur Ashe  . Ashe has a youth tennis league program in philly. I had no clue why he was referencing Agassi to philly since Agassi is from Las Vegas. Just wanted to get that off my chest :)

The altanta show was so good, but all their shows are awesome.
