I would assume that MMJ will not cater to any curfew, being a NYE show?
Saw them at MSG for NYE 2008...I wouldn't worry about a curfew. They played 10 songs after the ball dropped. Here's how their countdown to midnight went:
Im VERY jealous of the 3 nights no repeats stuff going on right.
The Redmond setlist was a dream for me:
ROLLIN BACK INTRO

THE DARK
CIRCUITAL
XMAS
LAYLOW
STEAM ENGINE
OLD SEPT BLUES
WAR BEGUN
OUTTA MY SYSTEM

GIDEON

what a finish! CANT WAIT to see them again.

Not sure what I'd do this year if I was in your shoes. NYE should be fun, but 3 shows of no repeats in your backyard? MMJ and The Afghan Whigs are doing a fine job filling this year's Pearl Jam void for me.
i need some help quieting the voice of reason in my head.
having second thoughts about NYE due to hotel prices...
One night of bliss vs. one whole winter of warmth as it will cost as much to stay and play as it will to fill my oil tank.
SILENCE!!!
I know I'll be sitting at home on NYE, likely going to bed early kicking myself for staying home, but...

It won't be a popular opinion, but I'm making the drive home that night. I'm about 1.5/2 hours away, and I know that time of year is playing with fire with regards to the weather, but it's a better option for me. Hotels in that area will jack up prices for NYE.
I'll still have a few drinks and some smoke and have a great time before the show. I make sure to eat a bunch before we go in. I usually only sip a beer or 2 during the show. With a 3+ hour show, it gives me plenty of time to sober up and head home. I did it after the BOA show a couple summers ago and I've done it for several of the EV/PJ shows that were Boston proper as well.
Driving on NYE anywhere is a gamble. Cops out everywhere and sober or not, thats a hassle. Add in the 1.5hr drive and hope and pray it doesnt snow... Just can't gamble with all that. My luck sux!
I do however have an awesome boyfriend who has agreed that we are in need of a good fun night out, and we rarely do anything on NYE and so we are there (assuming I can secure tix). Booked the Hotel Commonwealth right up the street, and will have Boston Terrier in tow! Prices actually not as bad as I had thought they would be.
Good luck everyone trying for tix today!

Passed up some primo seats on the floor (3rd row) as the email from Ground CTRL stated this was a GA show and didn't want to have to show up early and the wife certainly didn't want to be fighting a crowd for 3-4 hours. Now it seems like the show isn't GA and I missed out on some great seats. :fp: :fp:
Oh well, will take a look at the pre-sale tomorrow and TM on friday and hopefully grab something good. And at least don't have to worry about eating tickets in th event of bad weather.
that was a gamble i was willing to take - GA/Not GA
Looks like there are still some seats left tho.

I found a seating chart. The floor is divided into 3 sections and lettered starting with A being first row. I'm not sure how many seats are in each row though.
People should keep trying. Red Rocks sold out pre-sale pretty quick, but then a bit later the GAs went up. Hope those that didn't get tix get them through the public sale!!

So Night 1 LA show was insanely good. 2 more nights left with no repeats!
Set - Circuital, It Beats 4 U, You Wanna Freak Out, Lowdown, Im Amazed, Laylow, War Begun, I Will Sing You Songs, Masterplan, Old Sept Blues, Rocket Man, Strangulation, Eveylin Is Not Real, Easy Moring Rebel, Anytime, The Day Is Coming, Touch Me 2., Gideon,
Encore - Butch Cassidy, Wonderful, It Makes No Difference (the Band), I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man (Prince), Phone Went West
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

Makes me even more excited for Capital Theatre (only 3.5 months away )

They are being a bit dodgy with ticket distribution.....if you bought the 3-show package during the band's pre-sale, you have to go to the will-call each night to get your tickets....this hurts those who were planning on selling-off one of the nights, but it helps Live Nation because there aren't as many extra tickets floating in advance of the will-call opening at 6pm each night.
Great show last night. Started off a bit slow, especially with Circuital to open (which I didn't see any requests for really, but you've got to start the 3 night run with something). Also loved Touch Me..Pt2 into Gideon. Awesome set closer and the Phone Went West finale was great.
You were right on the money with that run starting with War Begun. That's where the show really picked up and took off for me. Can't wait to see what's in store for tonight!
Contemplating trying for the NYE gen onsale on friday and maybe trading out my 2nd row tix. They're a little too far to the side for me to be happy with... Anyone interested in my 2nd row seats, PM me. I have 2. I'll know for sure on Friday if I'll be looking to get rid of them...
Wishing I'd done some more research about the seating chart before today's presale... I woulda put them back and tried my luck had I known exactly where they were. Just so excited with second row... Ahh... the presale confusion. :fp:

The L.A. shows aren't well, so I can see why they did it, however, it will probably be totally different in NY. MMJ is a much bigger draw on the east coast.
I went to the Columbus show and didn't get a Spontaneous Curation T-Shirt. If someone is going to an LA show, could you pick one up for me, size large?? I can paypal you funds and shipping. Please help!!!!

You were right on the money with that run starting with War Begun. That's where the show really picked up and took off for me. Can't wait to see what's in store for tonight!
Wishing I'd done some more research about the seating chart before today's presale... I woulda put them back and tried my luck had I known exactly where they were. Just so excited with second row... Ahh... the presale confusion. :fp:
That sucks!!!! I just got the 3 day package for Capital Theatre and was REALLY hoping they would let me take all 3 at once.

The L.A. shows aren't well, so I can see why they did it, however, it will probably be totally different in NY. MMJ is a much bigger draw on the east coast.
