The artist is Randy Fung. He did the MMJ poster back in 2008 Seattle also. Really nice guy.

    Thanks guys.

And to answer the question previously. Run Thru last night was only partial. I have a vid of it uploading now.

It almost looks like the artists could have been Trey Parker and Matt Stone ;)

It was an epic show last night. Love the Paramount!

Classic jab at KOL right there. Just the other day I was talking about why/how MMJ hasn't managed to get popular like KOL. And it all boils down to not selling out, and not singing about flaming genitals

5 or 6 years ago when every article compared MMJ and KOL Jim would always make a point to say they weren't anything alike and he wasn't a fan. When they opened for PJ I always wondered if it came up since Ed is such a KOL fan.

I think that's kinduva douche move on his part. Makes him sound like he's jealous. I think MMJ has tried as hard as they feel like tryin to become popular and it didn't stick.

It really comes down to MMJ not really having nearly as mainstream of a sound as KoL. They're too all over the place for people to latch onto a tune and then another tune. They're not nearly as pretty either.

I would not be surprised at all if Ed is no longer a KoL fan. My friends and I loved that band from like 04-08. Then.... well, you know what happened.

Well, if you read the article, he touches on that point. He said that he felt Evil Urges was their attempt at commercial acceptability. They worked in a fancy studio with a big time prodcuer. But, at the end of the day, they felt like they didn't get anything from the studio or the producer that was helpful, so they went back to doing what they were comfortable doing.

It was a really great article. Also interesting to hear about Jim and his girlfriend being part time vegetarians. He said that every now and then, they'll eat a good piece of meat, but will make sure to take the time to thank the animal and let it know that it didn't die in vain.

Also, interestingly enough, the organizers of the webcast they did on 5/31 for the Circuital release wanted either Neil Young or Eddie Vedder as a special guest. The band immediately asked for Erykah Badu. There's also a cool pic of Eddie and Jim talking backstage in Italy in 2006/

the only time it could be okay to use the word "douche" when referring to Jim James is if we were speculating about the type of body wash he uses.

...and to suggest that he might be jealous of kings of leon is pretty hilarious. that man has more heart and soul in a lock of his hair than that entire band put together.

No, it's ok here too. I just think it's really beneath him and against everything he seems to be about.

I'm sure there was a little shot to his ego when KoL started headlining arenas.

Where did I say he couldn't have an opinion?

He could've just as easily said "I don't wanna change the way I make music to become popular". Wasn't it just pointed out that they tried to change things up with Evil Urges and it didn't work?

His LSD was flaring up that day. I haven't lost any respect for him and I still think what he does kicks ass.

I agree. But he get's asked about KOL, Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses, etc.. in every interview and probably doesn't like being compared to bands he's not a fan of.
