The sound quality is terrible, but it looks so awesome. This was the one song Im really disappointed I missed.

Now if you find you agree with what I just said, you'd better find a new love, and let 'em into your head.

I've been listening to Carl Broemel's All Birds Say the entire weekend. It's so mellow. I'm hooked. He's the f'n man. On the Case(10), Different People(8), Questions(7) are my current favorites. I also love Enough(5). Great little tune.

He's doing 3 shows in October. Indy, Chicago and NY. :(

Edit: Lemme post those videos one more time.

Just got this yesterday...Everybody in this thread should definitely check it out. Nice little mellow trip, with some cool sounds and harmonies. What a talented mf'er. After listening to it, it's hard to look at MMJ as the "Jim James Show" any more. Just didn't realize how much he brought to the table.

ALSO...Has everybody in this thread checked out the episode of American Dad featuring MMJ??? It's just awesome.

its a Jim James song off his solo record...its not a band song and its also not really a "new" song but still a gem to witness live during an encore of one of those shows (i believe it was N4 or N5 when we heard it...i didnt recognize it either but the guy next to me was belting it out so he obvi knew the record)

ALSO: i'll have pictures and multiple vids from each night (except N1) to post once i figure out my new phone/go to AT&T tho the vid quality may be raspy and distorted

i could be wrong...im just relaying what the fan next to me said...he knew all the words the whole time and said it was a solo track which makes sense

ive read in rolling stone about a month ago and other places that they've nailed down at least 6 songs off the new record; i think if they were going to play new songs they woulda started with those and not a yim yames solo during an encore - but who knows maybe one of the six was Wonderful

either way - new MMJ album out next yr followed by a tour is worth waiting for - glad everybody enjoyed the shows

if you'd like to see my 6LP Picture Disc ebay auction from nights 10/21-23 please don't hesitate to PM me...i dont wanna post in this thread out of respect for Get_Right even tho he doesn't communicate his words very nicely

Thanks I think. What have I said that wasn't nice? Ive always been civil, even when disagreeing with someone.
Im not the only person that frowns upon people promoting auctions on the boards. Is that is what you are referring to?

Wonderful is a song Jim has been kicking around for some time ('07ish). Some believe they attempted to record it for EU (never surfaced). The thought is it will either be on the new album or used for a JJ solo album.

Since they played it at T5 i'm leaning toward it being on the new album. I heard some one mention they have rerecorded it already.
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”
  • there are quite a few decent vids on youtube from Portland...
drop a note here or shoot me a pm if anyone hears of actual boots of Portland or any of the T5 shows

I'm shocked they're not out there

I think we will get an official release at some point. When and how extensive i don't know.

would pay a boatload for a vinyl box set though!

Apparently the band was not allowing taping at the Terminal 5 shows because the band recorded them all. Someone on the MMJ boards talked to Patrick after the shows, and he indicated that the band might put the shows out officially for Record Store Day or some other way.
