This Chicago show (available on thesteamengine.net) is so awesome. Might be the best recording I've heard in years. Wonderful (The Way I Feel) is so great and I had forgotten how much fun the end of Run Thru is live. There are those that don't like that transition from SFS to the 2nd half of Run Thru. I think it fits perfectly. It takes me back to that glorious night at Mountain Park last summer. I cannot wait for Harborlights in August this year.

edit: True, daddy is singing just for you. Do you hear 'em baby, anymore? Now that you've outgrown this slow, slow tune.

One of the best shows I've ever been too. I was exhausted afterwards. They really gave it all to the fans that night. Jims white boots were awesome!!!!!

Without a doubt. I got 6th row center for the Boston show. Membership paid for itself right there. Not to mention the cool poster and t-shirt.

Why was the Minneapolis show the same length? Only 15 songs.

Anyone know why Minneapolis was just as short?

The show last night was a benefit show for the radio station KCRW (in studio, basically). The Minneapolis show was a festival. Expect tonights show at the Pantages to be a usual full length show.

Man, would kill to hear "I Will Sing You Songs"

note: no Dondante over the past few shows. PLEASE PLAY TONIGHT
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

Ahhh!!!! I was out all day at the Dodger game and then went straight to the show so I didn't see your post. I scored orchestra pit AAA Monday morning that was right in front of Jim. A-MAZING!

You weren't up front toward the end wearing a black shirt with the stickman on the back were you? I was going to say hi but you (or that person) had left up the aisle at the end of the show by the time I turned around.

I was fortunate enough to see both LA shows the past 2 nights and I can't say enough about how incredible they were. While I liked Circuital upon the first few listens, it wasn't an overwhelming favorite. Then, I saw them play it front to back at the Village and fell in love with it. By their standards, a short set but definitely a special evening. Scored an orchestra pit ticket off TM Monday morning and was completely blown away. I had previously seen MMJ prior to this but these two shows just completely blew the previous ones out of the water. Wow. Here are the respective setlists. http://twitpic.com/5fjis5

Amazing show.....2.5 hours went by very quickly! JJ, or YY, seems to have gotten more energetic onstage!

I loved the diversity in my row.....there was the pre-teen Korean boy who was shoved upfront by his dad, the runty kid who looked like he belonged in a 1980s Debbie Gibson video, and the 2 tall douchebags who were reciprocally impressed with each other when they both taunted an usher who was just doing his job.

Could someone tell me approximately what time MMJ takes the stage for a typical show? Ticket says the show is at 7:00, so I was figuring that with an opener they might come on around 8:15 or so. Does that sound about right? Thanks!

It's Cir-cue-ital. Jim even says it that way in the song. He says it slow enough so you can catch it.

    Spinning out, gracefully
    Going nowhere, quickly
    I'm older, day by day
But still going back to my childhood way

    Circuital <---- ;)
    Round and round patiently
    Getting lost by the guide
And I'm all worked up over nothing
