Maybe NY will be the warm up shows to the European tour! Probably wishful thinking on my part... :(

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just outside 24 hours away. Picked up a 4 pack for the show in Indy as well. Loved the venue when I caught the Black Keys there. MMJ has to make up for BK's very average show.
  • Have fun Dewie.

Cheers to the Euro folks. Get on those tickets kids!

We got about 2 weeks until the circus comes to town.

Hmmmm...more shows, but I promised myself no more tickets!

2 weeks from yesterday, and I could not be more excited. Any thoughts on where people are pre-gaming? I know people on the MMJ board are all hitting up Remy's bar.

Sadly no my dear. PJ20 and Canada tour are not in my plans unfortunately.
Any thoughts on where people are pre-gaming? I know people on the MMJ board are all hitting up Remy's bar.
Well, there has been a resurgence on the Seaport. Many many bars and restaurants to choose from. I was down there last week for the Flaming Lips and the area is jumpin. Lotta businesses have flocked to the waterfront and there's a nice afterwork crowd. That being said, the show is Sunday night, so we should have the run of the place.

I really don't like Jerry Remy's down there. There are way better places right around there (Whiskey Priest, for one). I will be pre-gaming at my friends' place in Southie. There are a lot of us coming, so we're all congregating there before and after the show.

BTW - F Kings of Leon. I hope they retire and never perform again. Do you think Jim, Patrick, Bo, Tom and Carl have ever felt exhausted? Of course they have, but they don't cancel their shows a week beforehand. That's complete bullshit. The only MMJ shows ever cancelled were as a result of Jim's famous fall off the stage and subsequent hospitalization. I hope a whole bunch of pigeons shit on KOL again.

I've had it with those guys. He can't possibly be exhausted from their 85 minute gigs each night. I definitely expect the singer to end up in rehab.

I'll go wherever the crowd is going to be. If that's Whisky Priest, I'm into it. Just hoping for good weather.
  • So who from the boards is hitting up the Alpheretta show on the 20th? For those who have been to Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre are there any good spots nearby to pre-game? Also, does anyone know if the venue will let you bring in a poster tube? There's been a few duds on this tour so far, but a few beauties as well. Hoping for a gem as my only other jacket poster is complete shite (st aug, fl 09 or 10, cant remember). Gettin pumped!

Fuck the Kings is right. Tried to give them fuckers one last chance and they F'd me in the A. Now im really wishing I got tix for Jacket @ Kahbang or MPP :x

So...Fenway...see u at the venue then? Your not gonna be prepartying? I'll probably skip Remy's this time. Went there last month prepartying for APC...need to try something different. Im just hoping its not a million degrees out there on the 14th. Whisky Priest sounds like a good plan tho... We should congregate for at least one pre-show brew...can't come to Bean Town and be in the same vicinity as Fenway Faithful and Unlost Dogs and not kick one back together ;):D

  • I'll definitely hit up Whiskey Priest if that's where others are going. I'm not sure if my wife or buddy will be coming with me (the wife gave my friend first dibs, but as the show gets closer, she's hoping he bails, lol), But either way, I'll be there with bells on. I'm so pumped for this show.

Why do I have the feeling that after seeing them at Kah-Bang I am going to want to turn around and hit up the Boston show.

One of my favorite bands at what could be my favorite venue. Maybe its time to look at what I can sell on ebay.:lol:

  • The selfish prick in me is hoping they stick to a "festival type" set at Kahbang. 1. because I unfortunatley cannot make it up to Bangor, and 2. I want them to be fresh in Boston the next night.

But, the great people in Bangor deserve a great show, and I have no doubt that the boys will deliver, festival setlist or not. I'm bummed I can't make it. Dam pre-school graduation. :D

Yeah, I was told the set would be no shorter than 90 minutes, but mostly likely over 2 hours. I don't think MMJ has ever played a 90 minute set, so I hope they push over 2 hours.

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure, but I do know this: we will get together for a celebratory beer either before or after. I was just down there last week for Flaming Lips and I couldnt be more excited for this show. We'll work out the details next week, but I'll certainly be around. There are probably closer places to the venue we could go to. BTW almost all those bars down there have roof decks and areas right on the harbor. Who's ready for a few cocktails? This guy.

And that Black Metal video is awesome.

I saw this and actually just signed up for roll call in hopes that I could still get in this. Is it your understanding that you had to purchase your tix through roll call or simply have tickets already since they're not included in the $25 sound check party package? Fingers crossed!

oooo. that's a good question. i think you probably had to buy your tickets through the roll call. good luck. maybe this should learn a few people a lesson on why they shouldn't have questioned the roll call to begin with. it's been a great fan club so far. the value has been exceptional +.

Yeah, its my understanding that you need to have purchased tickets through the Roll Call in order to get in for the sound check. Be cool if they opened it up to any Roll Call member though.

Fantastic show. Caught about half of Delta Spirit's set and they were solid, but a little same-y overall. JJ was was having some issues with one of his guitars so we got 1 guitar versions of The Dark and Way That He Sings. Single moment of the night may go to Carl Broemel for that high not he holds during Slow Slow Tune. I've still got goosebumps. Great jams and a great vibe to the whole show. JJ is an amazing front man. Just absolutely loves what he's doin, not afraid of comin off too goofy.

The poster was cool, but they don't stock an infinite supply like PJ so I missed out. Did manage to get a pick from each guitarist so that was some consolation.

  • Glad you had a good time, Dewie. Great looking set.

It looks like they are keeping the same chunk of 20 or songs from the 1st leg of the tour, and stll mixing in a few old ones.

Really hoping to hear at least one of Steam Engine, Bermuda Highway or PWW. BH and PWW are longshots. They were playing Steam Engine pretty regularly on the 1st leg, but stopped towards the end. Oh well. I just can't wait to see them.
  • Here's a great interview with Carl Broemel from the other day
