Actually I think it is. When you go to a show and view/listen by setlist 'flow'? That must be fucking boring for anyone that does that.
One of mmj's strongest attributes is the way they groove. The band can make anyone dance. It's irresistible at an mmj show, and its a big part of what makes their shows so great. So yeah, when they start digging in and then hit you with a wonderful-golden combo its kind of a buzzkill and that happened quite a bit last night. The setlist was head scratching for such a highly anticipated show. Just an honest critique and im entitled to it. I love the band. When i get jaded ill stop going. I saw one of my favorite shows by them less than a year ago at the same venue, so its not a matter of seeing them too much. Last night just didnt work in my opinion. I have high expectations for tonight. Pulling into the lot now and couldnt be more excited.

I totally agree with you. Just got back from the Sunday show. It was solid, but not nearly as good as some of the shows I've seen them play. I will continue to see them again and again as they always deliver.
Tonight's show was an all time great. Perfect setlist and they slayed it. Interesting that Jim didn't address the crowd once (aside from a singalong) until they left the stage.

Really. That's interesting. To me, that sunday show was all encompassing. It offered everything that is great about mmj with zero fat. One of the best sets I've seen them play.
One of my friends (the one in the pic with "McLovin") was blown away by both shows, she had no words as she put it. Would have been awesome to be at.

Shows were great. I liked night 2 better, but had a blast both nights. I liked the setlists from these shows more than the greatest hits setlist from last year. Had front row tickets for night 2 -- chris long of the patriots was a few seats down from us. Apparently he's a big fan.
Red Rocks is an unbelievable venue. Gonna be tough to pass up on seeing MMJ there in the future. Place really is a perfect setting for them.
Their cover of Easy was awesome. They're the best live band on the planet
I've heard that from others too. The setlist never hit a groove with me until the encore.
This. Saturday set list just never flowed. Sunday was spectacular.
"That's part of the curse: If you're gonna play the song, you better play it. I've tried to phone in "Jeremy" a few times, and it's tough. It doesn't work."
I know a setlist for any given night can be great for one fan and poor for another. In my opinion Saturday was far better than Sunday and one of my top two shows by them. Had several deep cuts that have only been played (outside of One Big Holiday or their Terminal 5 shows) only a couple of times in a decade. I have the show downloads and would say that overall Saturday was better. Still hoping a video of Saturday pops up somewhere
Just realized that I let my Roll Call expire and along with it, the live show download. Oops. I'll have to re-join once they come back to the west coast.
Well Red Rocks was flat out amazing. Definitely one of the best stands I've seen by any band. They are in their prime right now and firing on all cylinders. I think there's no more denying that these guys are a top 3 live band right now and possibly can make the case for #1. I just wish PJ would learn to flesh it their songs a little more like MMJ does. Yim is on some next level stuff and Carl murdered Purple Rain along with Yim. That really surprised me actually.
Also, definitely don't need any Quaid... I think he was barely even plugged in just jamming the same chord over and over, ha. Looked a bit absurd but it's cool to come out and play with them for old times sake.

yeah they don't remind you or anything about renewing it. I think i let mine go twice.

I listened to this single, and it's pretty good. Better than anything on his first solo album IMO.
