No, I thought about going one year (it's a long drive for me - maybe 15 hours), but didn't make it this year. Maybe next? :)

I can't wait to see the film as well. No show near me, but looking forward to a dvd!

Did you catch them in the UK a couple months ago?

I did indeed! Manchester (blew off a friends wedding reception to be there and got Carl Perkins played for me :D) and Birmingham; I was rail for Birmingham :)

    Have you seen them before?

No showing near you? :( That sucks... We have a show and an acoustic set and Q& A session with Cooley and Patterson... i'm getting rather excited

I'd LOVE to see them at the 40 Watt... when my hubby-to-be and I tour the South next year we're including Athens just so that we can catch a show there... hopefully it'll be DBT, Patterson or Isbell :)

I was lucky enough to be at all 3 Athens shows (my 3rd year in a row). They were tremendous shows this year. I was on the rail for nights 2 and 3. My flight (NYC to ATL) was canceled so 2 friends and I took Amtrak from CT to DC, stayed at a motel, then rented a car the next day & drove to Athens. It was absolutely worth it. People came from Scotland, Saskatchewan, Toronto, Nova Scotia, and California among others to be there for the shows. I highly recommend all DBT fans try to make it to Athens at least once...between the shows, the town, and the fans who converge for the weekend, you may like it so much that it becomes an annual thing. :-)

Dude, Amtrak runs from DC to Atlanta  :lol:8-)

Yes I know...but we didn't want to take another train on Wednesday when we could get a rental car & drive the rest of the way to Athens. (We arrived in DC at 1:30 am or later Tuesday night.) We also heard that the roads from ATL to Athens were, shall we say, less than stellar...which was proven correct by stories we heard from friends who drove to Athens from ATL and Mississippi.

Also can't wait to see it, less than a month! Going to catch the in-store performance in London the following night, as well as the first 3 UK shows! With that, and The Black Crowes now doing a European run, it's looking like summer 2011 will be pretty awesome, now just the PJ dates please so I can finalise plans!

Anyone got a copy of the "Your Woman is a Livin' Thing" they had as a free download on facebook? I've heard it at the rock shows, but would love to get a digital copy of it.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

not sure about quality but they started a lot of shows with it in 2010 so maybe there's a better copy on the archive somewhere else

Tickets have gone on sale for shows at Bowery Ballroom in NYC (2/15) and the Troubadour in Los Angeles (3/7). More details at the link below.

    http://www.drivebytruckers.com/news.html#3weeks

I plan to attend the NYC show which should be terrific. I haven't seen them there since January 1, 2005.

I'm so tempted to hit the troubador show, but likely won't. It's a tiny venue. A three hour drive into L.A. traffic on a monday night would be tough, as would the drive home.

It's the only so cal date on the tour thus far though.....

Also - Got the "Your Woman is a Living Thing" mp3. Awesome.

Pulled this shirt out today - Haven't worn it in years:

    drive_by_truckers_vinyl_band_stickers.jpg

Although I'm sure it was a one off. Maybe if they can bury the hatchet, we could get a Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit/DBT Tour, and have Isbell join in the encore.

A man can dream, can't he?
