agreed on foles though. backup qb's in any town are always the most popular guy on the team. throw in the fact that so many people here hated vick to begin with, and well, you get what we've seen this year.

can't really judge him so far. can't also like much of anything what youv'e seen. but he's a 3rd round pick. being realistic, his likely ceiling is a career similiar to that of trent edwards.

just heard sal pal say the birds 1st choice is go with a coach who has head coaching experience at pro or college level. he mentioned chip kelly and jon gruden.

2nd choice would be an offensive minded assistant like a matt mccoy, greg roman, or josh mcdaniels (guy with previous hc stint/but could work out better in 2nd go around)....

he said lurie believes there is talent and team needs a few tweaks and new direction...not a total rebuild.

unfortunately he also said howie roseman will be playing a role in this decision.

Eagles' secondary could be worst in NFL history:

    http://www.csnphilly.com/football-phila ... feedID=692

right now they have a 23% shot at a top 3 pick per football outsiders. i will never root for them to lose, but it's a pretty nice consolation prize.

other than the end of the Mike McMahon year this has to be the least interesting game in a long long time. Two biggest stories tonight will be how bad the Eagles fans embarrass themselves and how bad the announcers and media criticize the eagles fans.

and the longest story will be nick foles windup...I will buy Fixer a bottle of champaign if you give up on Foles for Geno Smith next year. Please let this happen.

peter king's list of 15 eligable coaches. dave toub is another interesting one. i brought his name up last year. bears special teams coach, drafted by the birds and coached here a while back:

    The college names:

    1. Chip Kelly, Oregon
    2. David Shaw, Stanford
    3. Brian Kelly, Notre Dame
    4. Kirk Ferentz, Iowa
    5. Doug Marrone, Syracuse

Here are the 10 NFL assistants King mentions:

    1. Mike McCoy, Broncos offensive coordinator
    2. Mike Zimmer, Bengals defensive coordinator
    3. Vic Fangio, 49ers defensive coordinator
    4. Perry Fewell, Giants defensive coordinator
    5. Dirk Koetter, Falcons offensive coordinator
    6. Dave Toub, Bears special-teams coordinator
    7. Bruce Arians, Colts interim head coach/offensive coordinator
    8. Ray Horton, Cardinals defensive coordinator
    9. Kyle Shanahan, Redskins offensive coordinator
    10. Clyde Christensen, Colts quarterbacks coach

sparkling candidates on that list

eagles fan hate andy's negative pass-run ratio and no championships...and the top candidate is a guy in college who runs a spread offense and whose team has choked two years in a row just shy of getting to the title game :fp:

david shaw is interesting due to having NFL assistant experience.

i'd rather have Tom O'Brien than any of those other college coaches.

it's peter king's list, not mine. you dope.

and just because you don't recognize 90% of the people he listed, doesn't mean they aren't decent choices either.

nobody here thinks you knew who andy reid was prior to 1999 and he worked out pretty well for about 10 years. this league is full of little known assistants having success as head coaches.

Bryce looked good. Boykin fumbles his longest return of the year. Babin and Dunlap still suck. Vick looked like a dwarf next to Newton at the end of the game. Mike Patterson a DT in his second game back from brain surgery is the only guy that could sack Newton? Good for him but what the fuck. Cam Newton is one of the worst QB's I've ever seen. He kind of reminds me of a guy that played for the Falcons before he got in some trouble with dogs.

Did anyone notice a play in which Newton ran for a couple yards and dove head first to the ground with Coleman very close. When Vick does it a defender drives his helmet into his back. When the opposing QB does it, we tap his shoulder. What the fuck?

Our climb to the bottom is working. What team do we have to pass next for a better pick?

it has about a hundred times more to do with that fact that his qb can't play. some fans thought he was the savior including some on here who said he can't be any worse than vick. those fans were wrong.

and i know i say it every week, but these safeties are the worst i've ever seen for this franchise. never seen two guys out of position so many times.
