they also have 12 picks next april.

Never heard of a franchise with about 2 picks per round in the draft every year.

doesn't mean they won't be super competitive for the next few years. but all of the moves they've made (going after older players as opposed to their old philosophy of staying under the age of 30), and the way theyv'e structured these contracts certainly tells you they are all in. absolutely. no doubt about it.

this is the year. hop on board.

yes, they always speak the truth

Love the moves they have made. When I hear 'all in' I interpret that to mean they only have 1 year to win it all. That isn't the case with this team

they are always conservative with what they say to the media/fans. that's why it's a bit surprising/encouraging to see how open roseman and banner were over the weekend about going all out this year. they're looking at this year the same way they looked at 2004. there is no doubt about it.

when i say "all in" i'm not meaning they only have one year to win it at all. i'm just saying they are loading up for a run this season because they definitely think they can win it this year. every guy they signed last week, they can cut in the offseason without it having a big affect on their cap. they know what they're doing.

they also have 12 picks next april.

all in, this year....hopefully sustained super bowl level competitiveness for the next few years. it's go time fixer.

I'm with you man. Love the moves. All I was saying is that it's not all or nothing this year

Love the way this team is run. Peter kings's article today has a cool story abotu how roseman locked up asomgha

    Tulloch is still available right?

not all or nothing this year...but i do agree with the people who say there is pressure on andy to at least get back there this year. once the dust settles in these next couple weeks, i'd suspect the birds will be one of the odds on favorites in the nfc.

tulloch signed with the lions. that defense is stacked. i wish the birds kept bradley. wouldn't be surprised to see them keep what they have....unless some team overwhelms them with an asante trade. gonna see a lot of chaney (who i like) and mathews out there with these 3 corners. not thrilled with that, but it could work. definitely feel better about the saftey situation with nnamdi and drc out on there with asante so much though.

Once upon a time we owned the TB Bucs too.
That's true but Atl dosen't scare me at all, huge diff TB had a great defensive. Atl has weapons on the off but def has the corners to shut down any one now.

So, is there anyone to shut down TE's? Are there any good LB's? What about shutting down the running game? Sorry, I don't follow football in the offseason that much and I'm skeptical of all the excitement around here.

lb is still a concern at this point. chaney and clay mathews' brother figure to get a lot of the snaps with the birds lining up 3 cb's so often (assuming they keep all 3).....

d line should be good against the run. cullen jenkins is a beast who can get to the qb. can also stuff the line. him and dixon will probably be our starting tackles, i would assume. patterson and laws will work in. i like the line a lot.

the eagles are thinking with these 3 super corners and this high powered offense that they will jump ahead early a lot forcing teams to abandon the run....then they can tee off on the qb's the rest of the game knowing they have 3 of the best cover corner's in the game.

    should be fun man.

didn't see that tulloch signed with detroit. if they can keep stafford on the field they could be a playoff team. I like schwartz a lot.

    bunkley to denver now

I saw tatupu was cut. not sure how much he's got left, but that could be a nice addition. I was at the MNF game when he abused mike mcmahon. not good times

yeah he also abused garcia in a game a couple years later if i remember correctly. it was either garcia or feeley....he's gone downhill a lot over the last couple years though. still woudn't be surprised if they brought him in.

someone should tell juan castillo that nnambi asomuguha is the best shut down corner in the league and probably is used best...umm, you know, covering receivers than playing the nickel and blitzing and so forth. :?

damn it. i was just remineded that our offensive line coach is now our defensive coordinator :x

apparently that was all nnamdi's idea.

I'm gonna give castillo a shot before I pass judgement. The concern is justified though

i would prefer my defensive coordinator not to defer to a player like that though. that's why players play and coaches coach.

like i said last year, getting healthy and plugging a few holes will make the d a lot better. didn't realize they would completely revamp it. hope it works out...i have concerns about him getting confused about stuff during the games. he can know all the ins and outs of this defense....but calling plays on the fly during an nfl game for the first time since doing it at some high school 20 years ago is a completely different animal.

yeah apparently maclin had/has mono. I have never had it, but apparently it takes forever to recover from. my brohter had his relapse on him. He was a mess for a while. I'm guessing maclin will get better care than he did

i had it...for me it was basically an awful case of strep throat and weakness for a week to 10 days. it sucked.

I had mono about a year ago and it was pretty terrible. I was bed-ridden for two solid weeks never felt worse in my life and I didn't feel right for about 2 months following. Like anything there are varying degrees of mono. I don't know when he got it but yeah it can definitely stick with you for months and months. Hope he feels better soon.

 Guess that would be a victory for the Eagles anyway. Probably as close as they will ever get.

How does The Fixer become the voice of reason over the last few pages? I still wonder about your QB situation and offense. Never have been convinced Vick is the right guy at QB. Is Young a leftie too? Maybe they could invent the dual shotgun formation with both Young and Vick split in the backfield. Defense would be falling over themselves trying to figure out where the ball is going.

Vegas odds for the Birds went from 20-1 to 6-1 after all the moves.

i'm not hating them, although i won't be rooting for them unless they play the stealers/pats/packers in the playoffs.

You guys did make a bunch of good solid moves (at least on paper). took a couple of players i was hoping the bears would land.

I used to like them as PAs NFC team but thier fans are such (explicative deleted) I just can't find it anywhere in me to support them anymore.

Paper champions is all they are and I'll wager they don't even make the SB. Probably end with another playoff choke. It's in thier DNA.

rob ryan called us the "all hype team"

birds still have holes to fill...and they have an offensive line coach coaching defense for the first time in 20 years...last time being at a high school. so there's no sure thing here.

How about this jeags? If you're paying so much attention to my avatar changes then you know I'm a Steelers fan, $20 staight up that Pittsburgh has a better record than Philly this year? In case of a tie whoever advances farther in the playoffs. Certainly going out on a limb there because Philly looks great on paper.

Must be f-up to only be able to pick on my spelling. I'm actually in the NW so I've heard all the crying about that SB many times over. Not really even fair to compare Pittsburgh sports teams with Phillies. Even the lowly Pirates have more WS than the Phillies.

Really...do you have any idea how fun it is to HATE the cubs? And don't go around "being phiwwy" puking on kids, tipping shit over, slashing tires, throwing hot dogs at other team's fans, and being general menaces, and also start bitching that no one likes you. That's exactly why no one likes you.
