have the cowboys improved much from last year? :?

and don't just give me the healthy tony romo bs. they were 1-5 with him last year--or close to that.

The biggest improvement was getting a decent d coordinator. Other than that, they are just filling needs positions and not making rash decisions on players they don't need. They still have a ton of talent and will be very competitive this year. All we need now is a safety and we are all set. I'm hoping they resign Sensabaugh and get Elam...

say what you want about wade phillips as a head coach, he's always been a great defensive mind. ryan was a good pickup after he was canned though.

well they needed/wanted a corner back and went after nmandi but he decided to take less money to play in philadelphia.

think the cowboys might need some help on both lines in addition to saftey. don't worry, i'm sure jerry jones won't screw it up!

Have the eagles signed a punter yet?

I don't think alex henry kicked off at nebraska. Hopefully they can grab a punter that can kickoff as well.

yeah they signed an undrafted rookie. think his first name is henry actually

i realize this kicker has been hyped up a lot and nebraska has a good history of producing kickers....still, 2 rookies in these positions is a little scary. hopefully it works out.

yeah, could be an underrated story going into the year for sure.

forgot that kickoffs are moved up this year. another brilliant rule change

NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora floats the idea of free agent Randy Moss landing with the Eagles.
The Eagles missed out on their red-zone specialist when Plaxico Burress signed with the Jets. Moss would presumably fill that role if signed, but he'd have to leave money on the table to do so. That's not usually his M.O

Not sure what i think about this!!!!

Well, we are definitely the 2011 offseason champs no doubt about it. Doesn't mean much come week 1 but I am so excited. Haven't been this excited since 02/03/04 before the start of a season. Kudos to the Eagles front office for being on top of the new cba and getting ALL of this done. Hopefully we can upgrade at linebacker and more importantly right tackle....gotta protect 7's blind side.

i agree goatboy--this does have an '04 feel to it...

desean should be reporting soon. apparently maclin will be back at some point this week. if the rumors are true that he lost 20 pounds, though, i wonder how effective he will be...

danny watkins better get his ass in camp asap. birds are not going to guarantee that 4th year. he needs as many reps as possible. that right side of the line is a glaring weakness right now.

damn i leave to go golfing for one freakin' weekend and I miss all the action...plus it looks like the Eagles winning mentality in the offseason has thrown off our usual calendar:

November: 8-4 Definitely our year lets go Birds!
December: 10-6 Bring on your best we're gonna fuck 'em up cuz that's what phiwwy does
January: FML, fuck everyone in the world, I hate andy reid, I hate this fucking team, Jeffery Lurie is a cheap motherfucker and we'll never win with him...DIE EAGLES DIE
February: Go Phiwwies, at least we have something to be happy about even if it's our 4th favorite sport in this town.
March: Another year, another lost All-Pro player in free agency, and all we got in return was crap
April: We drafted...another 5'2" wideout and a shitfuck QB that is only going to see the field for 4 games lifetime for us? We suck
May: Roy Oswalt has a better arm than Kolb and his is broken.
June: We're the worst franchise but at least we're not FRAUDS and that's all that matters

May, June, and most of July stayed the same, but with this late FA stuff it's changed August into October. If March remained the same we might not be where we are right now. Oh well.

What do you guys think? If they don't at least get to the SB, they will blow this thing up?

It has that feel to it, they are all in.... If they can't do it now heads will roll

Lotta pressure. I think the East is yours, A bye in the 1st round

I don't know if GB can repeat Aarons hot hand of last year.... But they will be there

ATL is better, just missing that killer D..... The Saints will be good(lotta RB) I just think your secondary neutralizes them

It's now...... Or could be never with this core group IMO

Yeah, Moss really went downhill after the Pats lost that superbowl. He has always been a headcase tho. The Birds are better off without a guy like that.

Week 2, Sunday night will be a great game down in Georgia. Wouldn't be surprised if half the stadium was pulling for #7

The Northeast defiantly has the more passionate fans. That shit wouldn't fly up here if the shoe was on the other foot

That's true but Atl dosen't scare me at all, huge diff TB had a great defensive. Atl has weapons on the off but def has the corners to shut down any one now.

So, is there anyone to shut down TE's? Are there any good LB's? What about shutting down the running game? Sorry, I don't follow football in the offseason that much and I'm skeptical of all the excitement around here.

the only reason to be skepitcal is because of the QB situation

I don't know why people are saying the birds are 'all in' either. still have one of the youngest teams in the league. they're set up to be good for a long time.

also, the moss rumors were just to send a message to the idiot WR that's not in camp. don't sleep on riley cooper as the 4th WR. dude can play

anyone who thinks the eagles are not "all in" is fooling themselves.the eagles have said so themselves. they rarely talk like that.

doesn't mean they won't be super competitive for the next few years. but all of the moves they've made (going after older players as opposed to their old philosophy of staying under the age of 30), and the way theyv'e structured these contracts certainly tells you they are all in. absolutely. no doubt about it.

this is the year. hop on board.

    haha....yup.
i'm not saying they will make it to the super bowl or that they will win it. i'm merely saying that is the expecation for this team after the moves they have made over the last couple weeks. they still have holes to fill though...but every team has weaknesses.

also--someone said they are still one of the youngest teams in the league...i don't think that is true anymore. they've just signed 5 significant free agents and all of them, except vince young, are 30 or older (or will be this year). they may actually jump from one of the youngest to top 10 oldest teams in the league in one off season. that is nuts. :o

yes, they always speak the truth

Love the moves they have made. When I hear 'all in' I interpret that to mean they only have 1 year to win it all. That isn't the case with this team

they are always conservative with what they say to the media/fans. that's why it's a bit surprising/encouraging to see how open roseman and banner were over the weekend about going all out this year. they're looking at this year the same way they looked at 2004. there is no doubt about it.

when i say "all in" i'm not meaning they only have one year to win it at all. i'm just saying they are loading up for a run this season because they definitely think they can win it this year. every guy they signed last week, they can cut in the offseason without it having a big affect on their cap. they know what they're doing.

they also have 12 picks next april.

all in, this year....hopefully sustained super bowl level competitiveness for the next few years. it's go time fixer.
