Reid didn't cause his QB to grow a vagina in big spots.

It's weird...in the 5 NFC title games mcnabb played in for the birds, his best was the first one. not so coincidentally that was the only one which they weren't favored. the guy just can't handle pressure. some guys can, some guys just can't

and what have we learned, yet again, this evening?
the exact same thing can be said, and is continuing to be said, of andy reid.

about what? the pedro feliz thing from 3 years ago? i was just wrong there (actually preferred chone figgins like others in the phils thread--would have been wrong there too).

i'm wrong every few years.

I don't know man. The Arizona game the eagles left a TON of points on the field. I'd blame jim johnson, mcnabb, and akers for that game.

Jim Johnson got ABUSED by todd haley in that one

like i said before, donovan lead them to a huge come back....just couldn't do it twice. had the d done what they were supposed to have done on that late drive, 5 and reid would be looked at a lot differently today. there was a lot of talk leading up to that game about if they made it to the super bowl, would both of them be considered for the hof....oh well.

that doesn't make any sense. do you want me to bring up all the dumb things you've said about the phillies this year? been boozing quite a bit there, fixer.

yeah but you don't get anywhere close without reid. he really just needs a color coded sheet that tells him when to take time outs, and when not to. i think he's probably on oxycodone during the game and has trouble paying attention. he stays clean for his game plans though.

true.....could be worse. we could have had jason garret, wade phillips, a washed up bill parcels, chan gailey, and a bunch of other dopes patrolling the linc's sidelines over the past 13 years. ZING.

I wouldn't hate on Garrett just yet, give it like 8 weeks. But otherwise check, check, check, check, and check. I still think Parcells, T-Glen, and Jason Witten are more to blame for our woes than Tony Romo. Parcells was an idiot and called the stupid WR screen at our own 5. Witten couldn't gain half a yard at Seattle's 1 even though all he had to do was fall forward instead of sideways. Parcells was a bitch and didn't go for the dagger TD from the 1 on 4th down even though M-Barber was basically undefeated at getting that yard that year, and Kris Brown had tagged something like 6 50-yard field goals to carry the Seahawks that year. Then Romo drops the snap. Otherwise he had a pretty nice game against Seattle, put on the best performance of any QB against the Giants during their run, beat the Eagles, and had a terrible game in Minnesota which happens in the NFL when you get down on the road against a good team and your name isn't Brady or Manning.

edwards was by far my first choice. don't like babin's age...still, he represents a huge upgrade over juqua parker. our ends should definitely be able to get some serious pressure on qb's this year without blitzing.

We have no clue how good Edwards really is. He played on a beast of a line with one of the best DE's and 2 of the best Tackle combo's EVER against the run. I think he's way more of a risk personally. Babin knows this system and also knows Washburns. And with the late start all free agents will get it made more sense imo. Let alone u got him for a hell of alot cheaper. Edwards will be way over paid imo, great signing at 7 mill guaranteed only.

I shit my pants when I heard they gave babin 5 years. then I saw it's only for 28 million, with only 6-7 guaranteed.

shame on me for doubting reid. I would have preferred edwards, but I can live with this

i'm fine with babin...but there's no way edwards is a risk. he'd be playing opposite a pro bowler here too. our tackles, with dixon, are decent. best part is he's only 26. he's the kind of player the eagles of old would have gone after. he's got a lot of quality years ahead of him. babin's got a couple.

the late start doesn't have much effect on linemen in my opinion either. football is football--especially on the lines.

but like i said before, the additions of babin and drc vastly improve this defense.

edit--the one thing about babin is he only plays about 60% of the snaps where edwards would have been an every down guy. he's a pass rush specialist. washburn is a fan of the kind of rotation system the birds have been utilizing for the last few years. he used them at tennessee.

i will also add that going with babin over edwards doesn't shut the door on my boy b graham (whenever he gets healthy). i read before that he might be ready by mid season. so i guess they can rotate him in.

babin's contract seems to make it easy for the birds to cut in a year or two if it appears graham is ready to take over the reigns (which as a first round pick that they traded up to get, i would hope he'd be able to ;) )

now get this kolb deal done already!

Looks like the Kolb deal is done. DRC and a 2nd round pick, think the Eagles came out way on top on this one.

and suddenly a new contender for one of the most overpaid. i think kolb is going to be good but man that seems high for a guy who has never been a starter in the NFL.

I think it's a good trade for both teams. I wish kolb the best in Arizona. Through all the nonsense of the past few years he handled himself admirably. Class act all the way.

Andy Reid is the man. Great work getting a solid return in this deal. Hopefully kolb has a solid year and the cards go 3-13  .

Defense is already much improved from last year. Thank god

wasn't it just yesterday everyone here and on TV was saying how the Eagles had no leverage anymore and were panicking about the situation? funny how the people actually involved seem to know a bit more than sometimes given credit for :D
