you need to more specific...which year are you talking about him sucking in playoffs?

you could argue that he's cost them games in 2 of the last 3 playoff appearances

i'm glad nobody brought up banner's remarks comparing the birds success to the steelers' over the last decade. what a bunch of horseshit.

    in other news:

Eagles downplay severity of Winston Justice’s injury
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on February 21, 2011, 2:19 PM EST
This much the Eagles admit: Tackle Winston Justice will undergo knee surgery on Tuesday.

A “high-ranking team source” tells Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com, however, that Justice will only undergo arthroscopic surgery. The source said there is “absolutely no reason” to believe Justice’s season or career could be threatened as a previous report Monday indicated.

So I'm watching BBC America and they're televising the 6 Nations - it's a rugby tournament in Europe. Well, that's not what is weird. Hugh Douglass is on the post-game. Weird.

Don't know actually. Either there or walking around his house naked. A girl I know used to babysit his kids. Dude would walk around the house stark naked.

when's the date that this lockout starts? friday right?

Just read that the owners can sustain a 2 year lockout. the players are fucked...their union just isn't strong enough

    tomorrow at midnight?

i heard that too. no way it will last nearly that long. i've read stories about some lower tier players asking some of the well paid guys for 6 figure loans. once this gets into the summer, the players will cave. they have way too much at stake.

did you see that thing about celek's wife?

I agree that the players will cave. I do think the season is getting delayed though (mostly because I think gooddell will find a way to fuck this up)

didn't see anything about celek's wife. isn't she in the women's football league or something?

Hope they get it done without a delay. Hate to see them end up like baseball. Goodell seems like a tool to me as well.

What's the difference? He won't get any carries(nor will the other rb's) when it counts in the playoffs! ;)

    Love reading this...

Mikell hasn’t missed a start due to injury since 2007. He’s led the Eagles in tackles in three straight seasons. And he’s one of the true bona fide leaders on defense. But he hit the dreaded 3-0 in September and his contract is up. He’s also had less of a big-play impact with each passing season. I spoke to Mikell two weeks ago and was under the impression that he didn’t believe the Eagles were bringing him back. He hadn’t been to the NovaCare Complex since the end of the season and hadn’t spoken to any of the coaches, even new defensive coordinator Juan Castillo.

Even though the NFL keeps getting worse thanks to the turd commish, I still love the draft (even though the new 3 day format sucks balls). It's about time to start guessing who the birds will be taking. Looks like Gabe Camiri is the favorite in most mocks. I wouldn't be surprised to see an O-lineman, DB, or DT in round 1. I know they never take LBs in round 1, but even that wouldn't shock me this year.

Last year I was hoping for earl thomas. Not sure I have a guy I want them to take this year. The o-line and defense are the obvious weak spots, so I would like to see those areas addressed early.

birds thread...rising from the dead. haven't even thought much about the draft.

hated the new format at first until it actually happened. night 2 was a helluva time last year. they should just put rounds 1 and 2 friday night instead of thursday and it would be absolutely perfect.

I'd be fine with that. The Saturday the draft started used to be one of the best days of the year. Happened a few times where all 4 philly teams were in action on the same day...eagles draft, flyers/sixers playoffs, phils. The Fixer used to live for days like that. Start drinking at noon and spend the next 12 hours being hammered and disappointed. Good times :D

    definitely.

my buddy who usually has the draft party just moved into a sweet house with an even sweeter basement. walks out to a padio...he's got a garage that has "beer pong" written all over it, despite what his wife says...got a toilet down there which is key (though i'd be pissing just outside the sliding glass door if it werent there), well stocked bar......and a brand new 65 inch lcd tv.

i cannot wait to utlize this place to the fullest extent

that's awesome. I have a buddy that has the 6 direct TV feeds in his basement. Beer pong table. Casino Table. Hot tub on hs deck. The whole nine yards. Dude is still single so there are always a bunch of guys there hanging out and getting fucked up.

Best part is that my wife despises the place. won't set foot in his house (most girls hate it there). It's a sanctuary
