God created life, man flourished.
The evil in man made Osama what he is not God.
no man you said he was born with a purpose....his purpose is apparent (unfortunately)
PRAISE!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!
and he strayed from his purpose and chose evil or the world.
but i thought god had a plan for us and knew everything we would ever do before we were conceived, at least that's what i was lead to believe in sunday school....
so god not only knew these things would happen but he CREATED it.

i was thinkin 'death before dishonor'
He created life not evil. Evil is a result of man and the world. He knew it would occur and is using it to influence his plan just as the devil is using it to influence you into thinking God is evil and created evil.

i don't think god created evil because i don't believe in your concept of god. for one thing if god is everything how can it be a he? where did 'he' come from?

This belief is probably what leads most people away from christianity and religion in general. It doesn't make sense.
If true I would refuse to follow any god who would be satisfied with his/her action. The result is suffering and for you to suggest that god allows this when he could certainly avoid it is outrageous.

I didnt say I didnt believe in the book. I said I test it. We are allowed to question and test God.
A desire to share what they've attained isnt such a bad thing. I agree many christian believers views or methods screw up the true message.
If there is no purpose to life, meaning we are just here by random chance with no purpose, then why is evil such a bad thing? Why cant we have wars? Why cant I kill my neighbor for strealing something from me or have sex with his wife because I want to? Why cant I kill millions of animals to help my race survive? Why cant I just live and be a drug addict and have fun without any consequence? A purposeless life is more silly to me than the one I've been presented.
Why do people that dont believe in God hate him so much? Why does it offend one in such a way that they think me to be silly?
I'm pretty sure what I was taught was that you don't question god. Since when are you allowed to test him? I thought it was the general belief that god tested you?
Are you tempted to kill your neighbour and sleep with his wife? Is the belief in god all that is keeping you from doing so?
I don't hate god. I'd have to believe something exists to hate it. What bothers me is when theists mistake not believing for some sort of misguided anger.
I love life. I don't give a shit if I have a purpose or not. I'm enjoying it. So your god has spoken to you, and told you your purpose?

They take the bible to literally or take certain instances and only give those reverance.
this is what I find so hypocritical. how can you possibly, not only believe "the book", but also purport to know which passages are to be taken literally and which ones are mere metaphor? you can't have your cake and eat it too. either you believe it, or you don't.
And to answer your initial question "Why is it so unbelievable?", it is unbelieveable that we, as a species are so ignorant, arrogant, and weak, yes, I said weak, that we basically take everything that was "learned" and thought to be known as recently as 50 or 60 years ago, and called it false. Yet, we take this book, which was written 2000 years ago, by several different people, has evolved several different times, in a time where they thought any number of laughable beliefs, and say "yeah, but this book is good".
Why do we hold up the Bible as still believable? Because we NEED to. People need faith to get by. If they don't think there's an afterlife, they see no point in this life. And on and on we could go.
And a 100 years from now things we now know will beconsidered false. Even Darwin said it himself that if he evolved from this simplistic life form why should he believe the thoughts that he is having about his origination.
No one needs faith to get by. You dont do you? So everyone isnt as smart as you then is what you are saying? The bible teaches that all men have sinned which separates them from God. So you're saying you have no sin in your life and the line between good and evil starts and stops with you? Its a much easier life to live withouth believing. Why do so many choose to believe if its much easier on the side of the opposition?
please, save the "everyone can't be as smart as you" sarcastic card. What you fail to see is that I don't think I see anything that everyone else fails to see. the ironic part is that you are telling everyone else here that you see something we don't.
I wouldn't call it sin, by your definition, no, but of course I'm not perfect. I make mistakes, of course.
And I call bullshit on it being much easier to live without believing. I don't have the mental backup to fall on every time somethign shitty happens. you know, the "well, dear, it's god's plan" stuff. Makes you feel better doesn't it? I don't have that. I don't believe I'll see my dearly departed when I die. So when someone I love dies, I don't have that comfort. So how is my life easier to live without a god?

God allows suffering to teach lessons. Read previous pages.
What makes sense about other theories of existance? In other models something comes from nothing.
Being called by God my purpose is to bring light into the world. Light to the lie that so many have bought into.
Why do you people think evil exists?
Why do you think good exists?
I did read previous pages. Just because you say it don't make it so.
Well, for one thing, the Big Bang theory actually has some scientific probability behind it, whereas yours has none. And never has. Science evolves. Religion is stagnant. There's a reason for that.
I think good and evil exist because we are not perfect. If there is a perfect god, why not create us perfect? Why create a world that is evil all around? That's garbage. If he has the power to create all of this and create our paths, then he would have the power to create us how he wanted.
If your purpose is exactly the same as 4 billion other people, that makes you kind of insignificant in the world, doesn't it?
So let me get this straight: god created man so that man could spread the word of himself and make all things bright and flowery. so was god lonely or something? bored? all his other deity friends ditched him? what is the point of creating something just so it can worhip you? sounds pretty pathetic.
I have kids, and I love them dearly. but I did NOT create them so they can tell people about me and serve me. I created them because they bring joy to me and my wife, creating life is beautiful. I knew the world was a beautiful place before I had kids, hence the reason I had them. It's not a mental backup to cause some feeling it's faith in knowing that there is a devout plan if you submit your will to God. Those truths begin to manifest in your life when you do open yourself to the concept.
Personally I try not to go on feelings because emotions are bodily, I focus on the spiritual.
I can't see my families spirits so no I don't believe I will see them when I die. That's not what comforts the saved.
The only thing I claim to see that you can't is the truth to the lie that the devil birthed at the fall of man. The existance of God and his plan. Evil existed in the world before the fall of man. Why do you think god had his creation in a garden? What would be the purpose of secluding his creation in a garden?

The big bang is not "something coming from nothing". It's the universe expanding from some initial atomic condition. so it's something getting bigger. infinitely bigger. And it is supported by the most comprehensive and accurate explanations from current scientific evidence and observation.
Yes, current scientific evidence. Of course science is flawed. The thing is, science is an institution where we know we don't know it all. The opposite of which is your belief system. Based SOLELY on a book written thousands of years ago.
Dying for a cause? What does that mean exactly? How does dying for a cause give credence to your belief system? Eyewitness account of what? out of body experiences? Jesus' image on a grilled cheese sandwich? Be more specific.

that's funny. I used that near death experience example in my last post before even seeing this. I explain that as being some phenomena, some chemical reaction of the body and the brain where it nears death. but I can also recognize there is no scientific explanation for it. so it really is open to interpretation.
but you say god's plan governs you, and you have a purpose. do you believe in free will, or that all things are decided by god?

we are in a garden time out right now. Death is the crossover. God looking for those that want to be with him in eternity. The beginning of time was the fall. We experience pain and suffering to learn from it. Do you not learn something when your parents punish you?
You asked the world and got your answer. I get my answers from reading christs word, the bible. The questioning god on how it applies to my life. Spending time in meditation on those principles. You have to open yourself by complete humility to see god. He's not going to just give you what you don't deserve.
Man sinned and started a fire. You can't just put a fire out and not expect another one to start. God allows and uses evil to back burn the original sin. He nips the problem in the bud. He found a way to forever cancel out the spirits that sin without repentance or reverence for their creator.

No man could endure that pain without breaking or admitting to lying... unless of course that man was part God who stepped down from his perfect thrown to endure pain and suffering because he loved his creation.

If we are to believe that god is some being or figure of creation, and created the world and everything in it, where did god come from? Seems like a rather arbitrary question, yet very overlooked. Any answer?

but i thought god had a plan for us and knew everything we would ever do before we were conceived, at least that's what i was lead to believe in sunday school....
so god not only knew these things would happen but he CREATED it.
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?
"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama
when you told me 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'
i was thinkin 'death before dishonor'
i don't think god created evil because i don't believe in your concept of god. for one thing if god is everything how can it be a he? where did 'he' come from?

This belief is probably what leads most people away from christianity and religion in general. It doesn't make sense.
If true I would refuse to follow any god who would be satisfied with his/her action. The result is suffering and for you to suggest that god allows this when he could certainly avoid it is outrageous.

What makes sense about other theories of existance? In other models something comes from nothing.
Being called by God my purpose is to bring light into the world. Light to the lie that so many have bought into.
Why do you people think evil exists?
Why do you think good exists?
please, save the "everyone can't be as smart as you" sarcastic card.

You said you didn't know of god's existence before you had kids? why did you have them, if you thought they would have no purpose on arrival?

Personally I try not to go on feelings because emotions are bodily, I focus on the spiritual.
I can't see my families spirits so no I don't believe I will see them when I die. That's not what comforts the saved.
The only thing I claim to see that you can't is the truth to the lie that the devil birthed at the fall of man. The existance of God and his plan. Evil existed in the world before the fall of man. Why do you think god had his creation in a garden? What would be the purpose of secluding his creation in a garden?
You answered your own question on why god created us. Brings him joy.
So the big bang has some validity of something coming from nothing because of scientific probability but human testimony , eyewitness account and and dying for a cause doesn't hold any calidity with you?
and who the heck needs Noah to do all the dirty work. build the damn arc yourself, you lazy god. gather up all your own animals, dammit, you made them! poor noah.
look, I'm not trying to make fun of you or anything, I'm just pointing out how absurd this can look, and you are trying to paint us as angry and disrespectful towards your point of view. However, you sit there and tell us that you KNOW this and that, your "eyes are now open", etc. That's insulting. My eyes are open, wide open. They have been since I was 12. I went to church since I was born up until then. Only when I started to question all this stuff myself, and decide to ask instead of just blindly believe, that my eyes opened.
You say you question god? I see no evidence of that in this discussion. How exactly do you question or test god? send him a d-mail? (deity mail)

Your denying yourself the right to know you posess a spirit by buying into the worldly. That this is all you have. How do you explain people that have had near death experiences. Some experience an emmence peace and calm while others experience a great tourment with no quiet moment?
as soon as I wrote that, I was going to edit it because I knew that would be your rebuttal. So I decided to leave it in just to see how predictable you are.

Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me
I asked the world.....? what? what did I ask? and what is the world in this context?
Yes, of course I learned when my parents punished me. But my parents do not have the power that you believe your god has. if he is a supreme being, why did he create imperfect beings, especially if they were in his image? so his image is imperfect?

dying for a cause speaking soley of Jesus an the apostles who were crucifiied and beheaded in such. Seemed like a certian father of lies was doing his best to snuff out christianity
now we're getting to the heart of the matter. you somehow believe that you are better than others and you deserve something and they don't.
how very un-christian. this is what bothers me. most christians have no freaking clue what Christ was even about.
I believe he existed. I believe he had a message. I don't care where he believed he got his message from. that's irrelevant. The message was pure. He, in my opinion, would be ashamed of most christians in this age. he never judged. Most of you, however, can't say the same.

not what I ment at all in "you" I ment the perverbial we, you I. We don't deserve to be in his presence because of our sinful nature.
I didn't choose anything. Period.
A guy who ate an apple in a garden, in a fictional story nonetheless, did not doom humanity to a life of pain and suffering.
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"
True you didnt choose. You were born into it as your nature. Pretty powerful fiction if you ask me. As a child you couldn't choose not to be jealous when another child took your toy, you just were.
No man could endure that pain without breaking or admitting to lying... unless of course that man was part God who stepped down from his perfect thrown to endure pain and suffering because he loved his creation.
ridiculous....he's god...waves his big god hand and everything is perfect
no suffering, no Jesus in his underwear on the cross

"With our thoughts we make the world"
Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis
