How do you know I don’t know truth? You would have to know everything to know that. We are both the same just on 2 different sides of the fence. I know my beliefs to be true just like you do. I've looked on your side of the fence and have seen what you follow. I wasn’t always a super believer. I searched everything, religions, substances, science, and spirituality and what I found to be the truest is in God. Lots of people wont even consider delving into the things on my side of the fence because some hypocritical Christian, like I probably have been on here, has turned you off. I admit I'm a sinner, I'm not perfect. Its really hard to not let emotion get in the way of conveying a message especially when under attack. I came to know these things by searching. Everyone is capable of coming to this revelation you just have to search for it with an open mind. I didn’t search for it in Christianity for a long time because I thought like you did. I thought "how could it be true its all so far fetched and there is room for so much flaw". When you really get into the truth of it, minus all the religious dogmas and crap that sinful men plague the modern day church with you can see. You see the lies that the world bombards us with to cover up this truth of God. I know there is a God that created all this. I know this by looking into the evidence on both sides and making a logical decision that this must be. Now whether Jesus is who he says he is and brought the story that he said he did of his father, which is a different story. I have faith in it but yes I don’t have evidence that I can pull out of my back pocket. I do have faith in people and eyewitness testimony though. If you look into that and the lives of these people that started the original movement of the first Christian church then you can come to understand. That’s what leads me to have faith in Jesus.
ONE LAST TIME: YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. You have FAITH in something, you don't KNOW it to be true. "Knowing it in your heart" does not make it so.
We also don't claim to KNOW it all. The fact you have said Darwin's Theory of Evolution is a "stupid theory" (direct quote) means you came to the conclusion you personally needed to come to, and have ignored all the facts before you to suit your own purpose.
FACTS. Scientific evidence.
Faith is nothing without the need for it.Gimli 1993

Regarding your first question..
'Where did the goo come from?'
Answer: "We don't know".
But, just because we don't know, does not prove God created it.
...
As for the rest of it...
I know my beliefs to be true just like you do.
I never claim that my beliefs are the absolute truth. They are my beliefs and relative to my being... and I do not try to apply them to anyone else. This is my journey... my quest to find the abosloute truth to the question... 'Is God out there?'
You... on the other hand... proclaim your beliefs to be true... not just to you, but to everyone. I know that what you may truely believe... is not the absolute truth. The only way I would know your beliefs are the truth would only come once you have passed through death's portal... something i know you have not done, yet. As you have stated... it is your faith. That is how we differ.
...
Again... I am not trying to shatter you of your faith... i am truely glad you have found what you are looking for. We are on different roads through this life... I wish you well on yours and only ask of you... that you do the same for me.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

Let me say this for myself as a Christian and I'm not directing this solely toward you cosmo but everyone on here. What we believe states that if you don’t find what we've found your soul cant be with God after this life or during. Regardless if you believe that or not we only witness our faith to people to try and help them accomplish this or at least open their mind to the concept. I get that most people believe that they don’t need the help God offers. If there is truth in our beliefs one should consider it a gift. Please receive what we offer as a gift without an angry disposition towards it. Just as one on my side should welcome science as a tool toward understanding without negative dispositions, so should you welcome these teachings because they both offer truths and lies. Some people on here, you can tell their stomach just churns at the sight of the word Christ or God. With an attitude like that towards anything you are only cheating yourself out of gaining wisdom whether where you are seeking it holds truth or not. We only offer what we believe out of love for your soul. Some how the way it’s been presented down through the ages and the hostility that has arisen from it have caused a misunderstanding in the translation of things Christ taught. I assume both sides of men are to blame for this. I've definitely learned from this how not to witness to people my beliefs. Just as you would ask that I don’t mindlessly spout out what I believe but search for truth everywhere I would ask that you would legitimately do the same with Christ's teachings. If one would really look with an open heart and mind they would see why I follow so strongly and passionately. Don’t just buy into what this evil world has to offer about Jesus or all the negative things that have come from Christianity because of mans mistakes. Really search past all those mistakes that men have made in conveying and if you do that and still don’t believe then I am great with that. I definitely wish you all well in whatever journey you are on.0 -
I'd recommend stop believing in anything... except for gravity, up is up, etc.
Belief is the birth of ignorance. Once you start believing in something you tend to stop thinking about it.
Then again, ignorance is bliss. My mind won't ever shut the fuck up.Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. You are free... free to do what the government says you can do.0 -

I disagree once I started believing in something I listened to the teachings and began to renew my mind. I don’t plan on ever stopping.
You believe science to be true? Do you stop studying and looking into new research?0 -

ok that is fine, I guess I'm talking more in general about politics, philosophy, culture, morality, class relations, etc etc. I can see that you're an exception and that you think about religion extensively, which is great. However, it seems that you are a minority among the western religious folk.
Think about all the other things that you believe and how you consider all other possibilities as delusional. We all do it... we are all robots.Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. You are free... free to do what the government says you can do.0 -

This is the issue. We don't have an angry disposition towards god or christ. We have an annoyed disposition at people who tell us how to live, that we are going to hell, that they know something we don't, that we don't have open minds, etc. Any way you slice it, those are judgmental sentiments. It doesn't matter if this comes from a helpful place in your heart or not, it's still a negative sentiment.
You say we are buying into something. We say we bought into it once, and have achieved greater enlightenment through actually researching it instead of buying into it.
You deny science. We say you need to open your mind to it. You don't need to have faith to see the fossil record.
I know what christ supposedly taught. I agree with all that he taught. I don't agree with how it's been presented down through the ages by the church (christ was inclusive, the church is exclusive), through you here specifically. I harbour no ill will towards you, as I do believe you think you are doing god's work here and really believe you are helping us. But we don't need help. At least I don't.
I have an open mind. That's what agnostic is. I am truly happy on my journey so far. And I wish you well on yours.Gimli 1993

I don’t give the judgment. God does. No he wasn’t inclusive he said through ME is the only way to the father. Forget the church. Forget the sinners in the church. Find HIM as your savior. That’s the only way to God. If you believe what he taught you have to believe this.
I dont deny science, just crappy scientific theory that could one day be proved wrong when you are dead and gone. By then it will be too late. The message is still the same coming from where I put my faith. Science is constantly changing and it just isnt something I'm willing to lay my eternal soul down on to gamble with.0 -
