    Godfather.

FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY

In Florida , an atheist created a case against the upcoming Easter and Passover Holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians and Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.

The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring,"Case dismissed!"

The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, "Your honor, How can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays.."

The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant."

The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists."

The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that, if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned.

  • I don’t believe that you are spiritually non existent.

    This is what I said.

"I've ultimately come to Johnny and Gern's viewpoint. "I once had faith that you people were real to me. I saw your words and trusted that what you said was from your heart so I took them to heart. Now I can see that you really don’t exist to me."

That meaning that they once believed the words of the bible and followed Jesus and God because they told me they did. Just as I had listened and taken heart to what they were saying in their posts.

    I went on with

"I don’t like what you teach and honestly , besides the words you type, I have no proof of your existence."

By this I meant they saw and studied the bible but then began to doubt that God existed as I began to doubt what they were saying because I didn’t like what they were teaching just as they doubted what the Bible taught.

Saying this: "By your beliefs you are just a result of chum-goo spat out by material and random chance and I know I possess a spirit which isn’t bound to the earthly because my creator told me so. Why chat with someone I don’t believe exists spiritually?'

They believe evolution to be fact. That they came via the goo to the zoo to you by random chance and that "they" think they dont possess a spirit. You cant believe in evolution and believe in possession of a spirit by the way. So if they dont believe they have a spirit or even believe in spirits plus I dont believe what they preach so I shouldnt I believe in them. They dont believe in God, I dont believe in them. This is what I meant by I have come to their viewpoint. I was satirically speaking like I had given in to their line of thinking.... disbelief. This was all. I cant see that I wasnt too clear.

Gern did I make any spelling errors?

Why not? There are many christians who do believe they are not mutually exclusive...

My version of what my spirit is and your version are, I'm guessing, very different. Please don't tell me that I can't have one thing and believe in another, thank you very much.

Secondly, I preach nothing. You do enough of that here for everyone.

Thirdly, I believe evolution to be an extremely viable theory. All the evidence supports it so far. Anyone who rejects that as probable truth is blind.

As for the catchy "goo to the zoo", I would like to direct the attention that we all literally come from goo. That's how life starts, with female and male goo reacting and ending up as a creature.

    Just saying.

PS: It's quite possible for the guy(s) talking back to a preachy christian to get a bit prechy themselves. Again, just saying.

    Thanx.
And something else I think about... which I may have already touched on in this thread...
If Jesus comes back... isn't He going to continue His quest to sheppard in the lost flocks of Israel... and bring the Jews back towards the basics of Judaism? After all, that was what He was doing 2,000 years ago, right? Doesn't that mean all of the Christians would have to convert to Judaism in order to follow Christ?
And the guy was Middle Eastern, wasn't He? When Jesus does come back... He probably shares more physical characteristics with people of that region and will probably look more like Usama Bin Laden, than Pat Robertson or George W. Bush. He will also be a radical and denounce the militaristic, materialistic capitalists of the West (a.k.a. Modern Day Rome), and will more than likely not be chanting 'U! S! A!' when the bombs drop from the wings of the F-16s.
If Jesus saves... He should not be here to save well fed, comfortably living 9 to 5ers whose biggest complaint in life is taxes... He needs to save the poverty stricken, sick who haven't had a meal in 5 days and is being chased by some asshole with a machete because he belongs to the wrong religion.
    ...
Just some random thoughts... the result of my simple logic.

did the goo bang out of no where or was there a first action that cause that goo to come forth? A purpose if you will.

How do you know I don’t know truth? You would have to know everything to know that. We are both the same just on 2 different sides of the fence. I know my beliefs to be true just like you do. I've looked on your side of the fence and have seen what you follow. I wasn’t always a super believer. I searched everything, religions, substances, science, and spirituality and what I found to be the truest is in God. Lots of people wont even consider delving into the things on my side of the fence because some hypocritical Christian, like I probably have been on here, has turned you off. I admit I'm a sinner, I'm not perfect. Its really hard to not let emotion get in the way of conveying a message especially when under attack. I came to know these things by searching. Everyone is capable of coming to this revelation you just have to search for it with an open mind. I didn’t search for it in Christianity for a long time because I thought like you did. I thought "how could it be true its all so far fetched and there is room for so much flaw". When you really get into the truth of it, minus all the religious dogmas and crap that sinful men plague the modern day church with you can see. You see the lies that the world bombards us with to cover up this truth of God. I know there is a God that created all this. I know this by looking into the evidence on both sides and making a logical decision that this must be. Now whether Jesus is who he says he is and brought the story that he said he did of his father, which is a different story. I have faith in it but yes I don’t have evidence that I can pull out of my back pocket. I do have faith in people and eyewitness testimony though. If you look into that and the lives of these people that started the original movement of the first Christian church then you can come to understand. That’s what leads me to have faith in Jesus.

He exposed Judisim for its flaws so no thats not what he was doing 2000 years ago.

Christians shouldnt care about looks or race. In the world there is suffering finding Jesus already fills that suffering. You have God, he takes care of you. He may not give you what you want but always what you need. America was founded on the Christian God and did we not prosper? Now we are called to be in an idle tolerant state. We're going to get what what we deserve.
