not going to happen but if Matt was gone I would definately go with Jack. There is no way Dave A would be let back in the band.

i wonder is pj could pick up a 'free agent drummer'.... perhaps jimmy vivino (the guy who subs for max weinberg when he tours for bruce)
  • Dave Grohl.

No chance in hell Dave A would even be considered.

Dave A.... however... who would I REAAAAALLY want to see play instead?

    Jimmy fuckin' Chamberlin.

He whips every one of 'em.

I would say Matt would be on Drums. They might do some festivals in Europe and North America

Jimmy from smashing pumpkins? or Matt from the recording sessions of Ten?
  • matt isn't gonna leave the band jackasses.
if the reunion of SG happens it'll be one of two things ..

    A.) when pj isn't touring
B.) WITH pj and matt plays both

ed, matt himself, and other members have clarified matt is officially in the band to stay no matter what ... for good. he is never leaving.

I've never heard of an interview where a band member states "Matt will not leave the band for a Soundgarden reunion"

    Jimmy Chamberlin from SP.

Matt Chamberlain was an excellent fit with PJ, and would have been a great drummer for them to continue with, but both Dave Abbruzzese and Matt Cameron have pushed PJ's music to an upper level of intensity, and I think Jimmy Chamberlin is the only single drummer who could capture the essence of Abbruzzese and Cameron. Plus, he's a touring pro, and comes from a similar music background.

What? This can't be real. Not a tour.
Twenty-ten watch it go to fire!!!
  • Everyone else has their "side projects", this could be matts not-so-side-project i guess. but i doubt hed put soundgarden before any pj plans which im sure have been in the works before a soundgarden tour.

Soundgarden at the Commodore Ballroom in 1992 was one of the best shows I've ever been to in my life (and I've been to a lot).

Hopefully Cornell has his ego in check and they can make some awesome music.
  • PJ and Soundgarden on the same bill with Matt playing both sides? Incredible. Temple of the Dog songs as encores? Ridiculous. Will it ever happen? Probably not.

It's looking more and more as if Matt is taking a break for 5 or so months with PJ and working with his old band, followed by the PJ euro-trip and a fall US whatever. Im ok with this.

    Happy New Year everyone!

  • well what the hell else are they gonna do? i cant imagine any of them but Matt being busy at the moment :)
