either way, fox thinks its viewers are stupid and will believe anything they say or present as news, and most of the viewers fell for the altered videotape, which proves them right.

Why is it good when Obama did it (without the transparency he promised!) But wrong when Bush did it? I am saying they are both wrong.
Who said Fox thinks there veiwers are stupid except for you people om this site? How do you know who fell for it?

i said it was necessary. where did i say it was good or not???? sometimes you have to make decisions and try to do things to try to fix the problems facing the country, which is what bush and obama did. why can you not see that?? if you think it was a dumb move, imagine if it hadn't been done. i do not think you are capable of imagining how bad it would have been, which is why you see it as bad.

if people believe that hannity did not have that footage doctored then they are stupid. by doing things like that, fox news is assuming that its viewers will not notice it, and are thus stupid.....propaganda relies on a willfully ignorant and indifferent population, which is what we are fast becoming.

the first one was in october 2008. smack dab in the middle of the campaign, so i am fairly certain that obama had nothing to do with the first one....such a damning piece of info that aerial can not dispute...

Any company that can pay out million dollar bonuses do not deserve a bail out with tax payer money. I believe people have to learn to live thru hard times. No one is owed a cash bail out. The only reason they get these bail outs is because the Administration that is in the house at the time is only worried about their reputation and legacy. They do not care about this country.

The ignorant statement was a generalization to put down all people that watch Fox, which is propaganda in it’s self. That’s all I’m saying.

I did not even know about the Moving Train till recently so my outrage was not posted.
I am not disputing the Bush bail out, as I said earlier both Presidents were wrong. How do I know? Because it is not working ( reported by ABC ). There is no justification for handing over American tax dollars to companies that pay out millions of dollars in bonuses...... especially! after they take the tax money. It’s a smack in the face to those that have hundreds of dollars for taxes taken out of there pay checks weekly.
Back to the subject. Who did not believe the Hannity story? After I heard it, I believed it and Hannity apologized. So no one was in denial that I know of. If you don’t like Fox News, that’s one thing. But don’t generalize its audience as if everyone is ignorant. Because the same generalization could be made for those that actually watch South Park.

OH WAIT, so you WERE outraged back then...i see it now.

i am not generalizing the audience, FOX NEWS IS.... nobody on the right would have said anything even if they noticed it. it took a comedian to point it out to the world that hannity and fox are a joke.

so i am ignorant because i watched south park. HAHA thats very funny. south park is not calling itself a news organization like fox does. south park has no duty to report news and does not bastardize the art of journalism like fox does. it is satire just like the daily show and the colbert report. that episode was pointing out how ridiculous beck and the fox viewers can be. if you had watched my link you would have known that.

Fox News again accused of airing misleading video

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts988

For the second time in just over a week, Fox News is coming under fire for misusing old news footage. The latest flap is leading some people to charge that the cable news network is intentionally misleading its audience, while Fox claims a "production error."

Wednesday's incident occurred when Fox News host Gregg Jarrett mentioned that a Sarah Palin appearance and book signing in Grand Rapids, Michigan had a massive turnout. As footage rolled of a smiling and waving Palin amidst a throng of fans, Jarrett noted that the former Republican vice-presidential candidate is "continuing to draw huge crowds while she's promoting her brand-new book,'' adding that the images being shown were "some of the pictures just coming in to us.... The lines earlier had formed this morning."

However, the video used in the segment was from a 2008 McCain/Palin campaign rally. In response to the minor uproar that arose after clips of Jarrett's report hit the Internet, Fox senior vice-president of news Michael Clemente issued an initial statement saying, "This was a production error in which the copy editor changed a script and didn't alert the control room to update the video."

On Thursday afternoon, Fox News issued an on-air apology delivered by host Jane Skinner:

Yesterday we told you about Sarah Palin kicking off her book tour and then we spoke to Sean Hannity about an interview that he did with former Governor Palin. When introducing the segment we showed you footage of people lining up in Michigan for a book signing that evening. In the tease before the segment, the tease to commercial, we told you how those people were already lining up to meet Palin. The problem is we didn't show you the video we were actually referencing. Instead we mistakenly aired what's called "file tape" of Sarah Palin. We didn't mean to mislead anybody in that tease. It was a mistake, and for that we apologize.

The current mishap comes on the heels of a controversy sparked last week when footage from a conservative rally held over the summer was played on "Hannity" during a segment on a more recent rally. During the clip, host Sean Hannity marveled over the large turnout for a Washington, DC protest. The Daily Show later pointed out that there seemed to be some inconsistencies with the video shown on Hannity's show, namely that the atmospheric conditions seemed to vary from shot to shot. Hannity later apologized on the air for what he called "an inadvertent mistake."

Barely a week into Palin’s blitz to promote “Going Rogue,” media coverage is becoming its own story. Fox News rival MSNBC caught heat last week for using altered images of Sarah Palin on the air, for which they later apologized. On Wednesday, Yahoo! News reported Newsweek’s defense of their latest controversial cover, which Palin herself blasted as “sexist.”

morons travel in packs becos they need the validation of someone always telling them what they want to hear rather than what's really happening in the world?

:lol: So true! Oh, how this comment made me laugh...

And to comment on the topic. I personally think that there are many a "news" station that present "facts" that aren't quite true (i.e. embellished like the particular footage and stories mentioned in this thread), or that are presented with a particular slant or spin. I don't believe that it's only Faux News. These big news stations are owned by big money. Big money usually has it's own political agenda and that tends to trickle down. Journalistic integrity has been going into the toilet because these big money stations hand down the do's and don'ts to thier journalistis and expect them to print the story the way they want it told. So I suppose many journalists choose, or feel they have no other option other than to do what the poeple who pay them tell them to do. Plus, look what can be done to photos/video footage in order to bend and shape them into whatever they are required to be...

All in all, it's up the the viewer to be smart enough to not take everything the TV/internet news tells them at face value. News is a business after all, and business is all about the bottom line--the almighty dollar.

Nope. Medicare is a social program that is run by the government. No matter how you attempt to explain it away... MediCare is Government run Health Care.
Is it good or bad? Is this Government run Health Care program good or bad?

i think we need single payor across the board, but people like you refuse to let it happen. why is it ok for you to deny the 47 million people access to health care? sounds VERY selfish to me. you seem to be ok with wasting trillions of dollars so that we can go play in the sand in the middle east, yet you are against giving health care for everyone? please give me your idea for a solution to the problem. i don' know why i even bother because every time i ask you a direct question you ignore me.

Why do you keep saying I am against healthcare and for war? Once again I am not for war....and I feel the health care system needs some tweaking....like go ahead and cover those that don’t have healthcare. I much rather pay for that than giving millions out to companies that failed or to create jobs that never happened. Just don’t screw up the whole system. I do not feel like paying for illegal aliens health among other things this bill purposes.

were you not the one who just last week called obama your "enemy" because of his name and for what he was trying to do to give healthcare to the uninsured??? or was that some other aerial posting under your screen name?

also both bills in congress specifically prevent coverage of illegal immigrants, so you can mark that off of your list of this week's outrages.

you're priorites are all twisted .

this is how fucked up you are,

you're ok with murder and rape and pillage and misery and brutality and oppression, but when it comes to me seeing a doctor you're against it.

the selfish they're all standing in line....

    you're right there with them

the wealthy are wealthy because of the working class. there is no country to run if the working class stops working, the USA ceases to exist. all the positions of privilege and luxury mean shit without the working class. its an easy concept but i doubt you'll understand... so if some of their taxes go into a fund that allows us access to healthcare, its not even half of what is due.

you realize we could have 20 hour workweeks, 6 weeks paid vacation, unlimited unempoloyment benefits, job security, helathcare etc.....all of that, AND make more per week than we are now.

but its because of the selfish and the greedy, people just like you, that don't mind spending so much on weapons and murder, and get up in arms when any of our taxes are to be spent on the people. you are perpetuating a system that caters to the elite, leaves the majority to rot, and is only getting more extreme.

us 47 million without insurance pay taxes too. i'd rather the money was spent saving lives, not taking them. that's the difference between us.

What situation would that be? Or maybe you could get a J.O.B that offers insurance or buy it your self.....anyone think of that yet?
Why would you expect someone else to buy it for you?

situation?? ummmmmmm......uninsured.....how about reading the posts instead of comng up with more hypotheticals?

maybe he does have a job that does not offer benefits. maye he got downsized and laid off. you do know that has been happening for 2 years now right? you do know that unemployment is over 10% right? there are not jobs to be had, if there were the unemployment rate wouldbe lower and more people would be insured. get it?

how would other people be buying it for him if we had a universal plan or public option? it's ok to take the money commy is taxed from his job and purchases to use towards blowing people up and occupying their land but to give him health care instead is seen as some horrible thing? shouldn't we be asking why do they expect us to pay for their wars, instead?

get a job with insurance....yeah, that is the magic answer and everyone knows how remarkably easy that is in these current times, eh?

    to quote charlie kelly
"Oh, get a job? Just get a job? Why don't I strap on my job helmet, and squeeze down into a job cannon and fire off into job land, where jobs grow on jobbies!"
