I had a load of fun rooting around the charity shops in a couple of pretty towns today. Got pretty lucky with some great records in excellent condition, mostly at £1 each. It kind of felt like I was going around hoovering up the shavings of gold that people were just discarding! I can't believe some of the records that people are prepared to just give up on, and give away. CD listeners! Anyway, their loss is our gain right?
Also picked up some cool looking 1980s compilation LPs - a Greenpeace charity record with U2, P Gabriel etc on it, and a collection made up of early rock and roll 45s

Love love love Laura Marling - this is on my list of records to get soon. I have Alas I Cannot Swim on vinyl, and it is gorgeous
agree.. and she's only getting better and better!
I've avoided listening to the new album so far, because I'm wanting to hear it on the vinyl. I've heard the single (Sophia??) and thought that was great - especially the way it turns out in the second half of the song. I asked about the vinyl in my local pretty well stocked vinyl store, but they weren't even sure if the vinyl had a UK release. It probably just didn't show up on their system - I might have to get it online. I liked her second album, but for me it didn't quite compete with the debut. That will always have a special place in my heart, that album. What a talent though! Easily one of my favourite female singers and songwriters

Us Europeans will have a fair few weeks to wait I'm sure...
International was shipped first...In theory, everyone should be receiving theirs around the same time...again, in theory.
