    Great job Swish!

Reminds me of Murcer when Thurman died:

Murcer tied the game with a home run and then won it in the bottom of the 9th, I believe.

Swisher did the same thing tonight.

    Gotta love Yankee Classics!

Xavier, rival, how was it tonight? Looked like one incredible game to be at.

Man, jeter has got to get his shit together. He did have some good hacks tonight but nothing to show for it.

It was insane. upon the urging of a close friend, I've begun blogging on the yes network website strictly for fun, here's my take on it:

    http://www.myyesnetwork.com/15882/blog/ ... keye_magic

It's actually funny. I think the whole world expected Jeter to get that hit and nobody thought of the Ohio State connection until the end when Girardi mentioned it.

It's also a weird coincidence that they won by the same score as the game right after Thurman Munson's funeral in 1979.

incredible game to be at indeed. not sure what the YES broadcast looked like, but they kept showing mariano on the big screen and he seemed to be the most emotional out of everyone. nice touch to not announce any of the player's name through out, but i was looking forward to hearing sheppard's voice calling jeter up to the plate. the bleacher creatures even silenced their roll call out of respect for sheppard.

the game itself was just incredible. of course everyone was expecting jeter to get that hit in the 9th, but glad to see swisher do it. he just had a monster game. awesome to see the place go nuts and a fitting end to the night.

on the way out, i saw the side walk memorial that i didnt see on my way in. i tried taking pictures on my cell phone, but i do not have flash, so they didnt come out great. candles, hats, jerseys, even a blue jacket with a turtle neck was laid out. pretty special to see.

with everything going on the past couple of days... it got me thinking about bernie williams.

can anyone give me one good reason as to why the yankees have not retired his #? he is easily one of my all time favorite yankees, and i do have slight bitterness towards them for not retiring him proper. i was convinced they were going to do it during the final season in the old stadium, and that obviously never happened. and just thinking about it... there is a chance they never will. what gives? this guy was an elite yankee for over a decade. where is the respect?

Rival, I don't think he is officially retired still. I heard an interview on Francesca a while back and mike was asking him when he was officially going to retire so they can retire his number
