If we sign him we'll be looking at 100+mm for 4 players going into 14. I really don't want the Yankees going more than 7 years and I wouldn't bet against Boras getting more. Cano's not going to take a hometown discount and if i was to bet he's a goner after this year anyway.I rather get a few young mlb ready prospects than a few draft picks who wont help us for 4-5 years if they actually pan out.

This is going to be a tough call for the yanks but the way this team is built you pretty much have to hold onto him unless someone blows us away. If the boss was still around this wouldnt be an issue and we certainly wouldn't be hamstring by the upcoming 189mm cap.

I don't like it but if you can get some young stud players for him. You have to try.

Not sure what this team is trying to do. Part of me says save the money because I honestly don';t think it's going anywhere soon but the other part of me says they already have so much invsted they should be making a push for next year. Cano I'm really up in the air about. Can a team be built around him as he's moving into his 30's? Not really sure.

75 percent chance that Cano tests positive for PEDs this year

It doesn't hurt to dangle him out there but that doesn't mean they are looking to trade him. Cashman has always said he'll listen on anyone. The only way they trade one of the best players in the game is if they get someone kershaw or Felix and with only one year left on his contract that's not happening.

I really can't see them trading him for straight prospects.

This better be just idiotic speculation but Bowden is saying the yanks are looking to trade Mason Williams, Sanchez and Bichette for Upton. Now if you add Nova and substitute Stanton for Upton now we're talking.

Hope that's not true. That means they're going to trade their good hitting catching prospects in 2 years.

I'd trade Williams, Nova and Bichette in a heartbeat for Upton, that wouldn't get it done though. No shot I would include Sanchez.

Oh well. Some great memories from last year, but no need to get into a bidding war for a 40 year old part time player. Would like to see him back, but no need to get crazy.

I'd like to see Dickerson get a shot at the 4th spot
