werth's HR was weak. not as bad as texiera's last night, but weak. this park is a fucking joke.

HR's are not being the hit the same as last year since the old stadium went down.

if this was the 1970s or 1980s, Steinbrenner would fume and say Burnett "spit the bit"..

Yeah, at least they brought the tying run to the plate and made lidge throw 30 pitches. Still tied for the best record in the majors.

I had a feeling about that as well. Seems like pitchers who throw slop like that always catch them off guard. Hell of a job by the bullpen

That's funny. About the 6th inning, I thought of your comment when you said this over the weekend.

This is why I really didn't want AJ when we got him. He is bipolar.

Evil AJ showed up tonight. You never know when he is gonna show up. I feel like having him pitch in the playoffs is russian roulette.

lol, what's the over/under on hit batters by aj for the season?

i'm mixed on how i feel about aj. obviously the tv got screamed at in my home last night...but after cooling down a bit, i came to the conclusion that hey, you can't win 'em all. just gotta hope that he bounces back from this in his next start.

and as pissed as i was at aj (the straw that broke the camels back was him not covering first on that grounder to tex), i kinda felt bad for him getting booed when he left the field. sure, he had a shit game, but he didn't do it on purpose. imo, don't boo your own player for having a shitty game...give him the silent treatment when he comes off the field. lol, unless he's reached kyle farnsworthless status. then you can boo the shit out of him. aj hasn't gotten that bad.

Farnsworth is the only Yankee I have ever booed. Agree with everything you said and what neily said below. He is just an inconsistent pitcher with great stuff.

Haha, well I was too young to be booing players in the late 80's, but I am sure I would have it it were a few years later.

Dude, how bad was Burnett when he gives up 6 runs then Loogan and Gaudin no hit the Phillies the rest of the game?

He spit the bit but at least the bullpen is going to be rested for tonight, the Subway Series and six games in NL parks.

Agreed, they did their job, was good to see the guys on the bottom of the totem pole get it done. I liked that they got Lidge up to 30 pitches or so as well.

Any idea why the hell Mitre was taking BP over the weekend?

Yeah, I think i read 7 baserunners over the past 2 games. Thats not going to beat anyone.

Hopefully tonight, he wont be perm DH for a couple years, at least until Jorge is gone.
