Not a thing. He actually hit 94, 95 a few times. He seems to go through this every year almost around the same time. Like last year he gave up a bunch of runs in a tie game to Tampa Bay and the whole world wondered what's wrong with him and nothing was.
he is behind every batter lately...control isn't mo like at the moment
i post on the board of a band that doesn't exsist anymore .......i need my head examined.......
and your definition of falling behind is 1-0, 2-1? A lot of closers get behind, his high-wire rate is probably among the lowest in the league and certainly much better than some of the closers they've had across the Whitestone Bridge with the Mets. I think you're reading too much into it.

Harsh words on the pick. I understand they took the kid way too early but I like everything I have read on this kid. Seems like he has the tools you can't teach and the Yankees hope to develop him as a hitter.
Calling Out Yankees Scouting Director Damon Oppenheimer (& His Bosses)
Posted by Steve Lombardi on June 7th, 2010 · Comments (15)
In the current print edition of Baseball America, John Manuel looked at their the grades for every major league team’s draft over the last ten years. And, along with that, Jim Callis went back and graded each draft for the last decade and ranked teams by their overall grade-point averages.
In this analysis, the Red Sox (3.40 GPA), Diamondbacks (3.20), A’s (3.10), Phillies (3.05), Rays (2.90) and Twins (2.90) were the top five teams in baseball in terms of drafting well over the last ten years. (Rays and Twins were tied for fifth.) And, the Yankees ranked 26th overall – with a GPA of 1.95 – only bettering the Mets (1.90), White Sox (1.75), Astros (1.55) and Mariners (1.45). Clearly, this is not pretty news for the Yankees front office in terms of grading out well in the draft.
In the same edition of Baseball America, Jim Callis had a feature on the best scouting directors (current and former) in the last few years. Among those listed were David Chadd, Mike Rizzo, Logan White, R.J. Harrison, and Jason McLeod. Note there’s no mention of Damon Oppenheimer, the man in charge of the Yankees amateur scouting and draft, or anyone else within the Yankees front office here.
And, today, with their first pick in the 2010 draft, the 32nd overall pick, the Yankees selected Cito Culver - probably two or three (or maybe four?) rounds earlier than he should have been selected – passing on talent like Anthony Ranaudo, Bryce Brentz, Ryan LaMarre and Seth Blair (just to name a few).
Considering all this, and then factoring in that the Yankees had screwed up their first three picks in the draft just about every year from 1998 through 2008, I have to wonder about what’s going on in the Yankees front office with respect to handling the draft? (“What about 2009?” some may say? Well, the jury is still out on that one.)
At some point, Damon Oppenheimer – and his bosses, Mark Newman and Brian Cashman – have to be held accountable for the way they’ve been wasting the Yankees “prime” picks, draft after draft, no?
The New York Yankees also drew some surprised reactions by taking prep shortstop Cito Culver in the first round -- I was doubly confused when he was listed on MLB.com as a right-handed pitcher -- when the Northeast area scouts were telling me all spring he was a third-or fourth-rounder. The Yankees see Culver as a shortstop with a chance to hit for average and some power, and he has a plus arm, but there are mixed opinions on whether or not he's going to stay at short. On the flip side, the Yankees had Culver on their Area Code Games team last summer and probably knew him as a player and as a person better than any other team could have.
Thanks man. KLaw is always on point. This is what Oppenheimner had to say...
Amateur scouting director Damon Oppenheimer is starting a beat writer conference call in about two minutes. I’ll have some updates as we go.
UPDATE, 11:35 p.m.: “I had basically over 100 years of scouting experience go in and see this kid.”
UPDATE, 11:36 p.m.: “We’ve been able to see him play for a long time. We’ve probably got a couple of hundred at-bats from him… We were ahead of the game because we knew so much about him.”
UPDATE, 11:37 p.m.: “We project him to be a shortstop.”
UPDATE, 11:38 p.m.: On the idea of waiting for him to fall into the second round: “The thought crossed my mind and I’m glad I didn’t, because after we did pick him I got a call from one of our competitors who’s very successful, saying he would not have gotten to us.”
UPDATE, 11:40 p.m.: “He really wants to be a Yankee. I think that we’re going to get him. We should get him signed and get him out playing really soon.”
UPDATE, 11:44 p.m.: Conference call is over. We’ll talk to Culver this afternoon.
The basic feeling from Oppenheimer was this: The Yankees saw Culver play a lot. Damon was talking about a couple of hundred at-bats, and that’s a ton to see from a high school kid. Despite speculation to the contrary, the Yankees don’t believe he would have fallen to them in the second round, and it’s hard to imagine anyone had a better feel for this kid than the Yankees. Oppenheimer expects him to sign quickly, and the team plans to keep him at shortstop.
I don't know how I feel about this. Don't really see a need to move Nunez or Romine with Lee being a FA this year. Their pitching staff is pretty stocked. Would they then try to trade Vazquez to make room?

Most likely as a free agent. There's no space for him in our rotation. Unless you're trading Javy Vasquez.
A-Rod out with a groin injury. Hopefully it's not too serious. He says he feels no pain only stiffness.
