Solid win, wasn't pretty but got it done. Winning record on this road trip.

My cousin told me the Yankees are looking at Matt Garza.

Saw this. Garza is a doucebag but a good pitcher. I think Theo would ask for way too much though. Sounds like the Yanks are pretty intent on making a trade though, sounds like they were fairly close to getting Edwin Jackson earlier this month

Not an easy 6-2 record. But a win's a win.

    5.60 era.

no not easy....pretty fucking incredible is more like it.

When your offense averages 6 runs a game and the bullpen pitches to just an under 1.00 era in your starts. The chances of winning are good. Defense has been decent. But he has the stuff to pitch better.

    i hear you.

certain people would just crucify you in the phils thread for talking about wins when referring to how good a pitcher is though. there is a more congenial vibe in this thread than what our's has turned into over the last couple years...

I think everyone here would agree that Nova has been pretty terrible so far this year, he's gotten really lucky with his record and the offense. Our biggest arguments are over Hughes and everyone but me dislikes Girardi, I think.

I don't dislike Giradi I just think he tends to over think and over manage some situations.

He definitely does, but his biggest job is to manage the bullpen and I think he does a really good job of that.

Agreed, tough when you're an aggressive hitter like he is, but dude wasn't coming close.
  • Cliffy6745Cliffy6745 Posts: 33,717
Dammit, that should have been a win. I have said that too many times this year.
  • Newch91Newch91 Posts: 17,560
They deserved to lose this game. 12 men left on base. Are you fucking kidding me??

He had a good day. Did you see the curveball that Verlander threw to strikeout ARod in the 4th or 5th?
  • Cliffy6745Cliffy6745 Posts: 33,717
Ha yeah. When arod swung when it was pretty much in the catchers glove. That was crazy.

Arods home run was a shot too.
