I'll chime in on the announcers. My favorite is Singleton. I really miss Bobby Murcer doing the games. He was my favorite growing up.

Who remembers Al Trautwig(spelling?) doing the games?

    Look Out!

    Love Singleton and Cone.
I love when Kenny says that. Al Leiter is also really good. I love when he has a ball with him and showing the different ways pitchers hold the ball for pitches.

Yeah, Leiter is pretty good. I love Cone in general, that dude parties. Love how he references Fan Graphs all the time. He knows what he's talking about.

Yes. Early 90's when the Yankees were on the MSG Network. But do you remember Bill White and the Scooter on WPIX?
I remember Scooter a little bit. He was just about retiring when I started watching. Did he retire in '96 or '97?

I don't remember. I do remember, I think, he stopped going on the road his final few years though.

Combined no-hitter for the Mariners behind the catching of Montero

Doesn't look like they think Montero is a catcher long term with their recent draft pick and all.

Probably, but having a lot of good catchers in the system is not bad also.

I think Scooter retired in 1996. If I remember correctly, he was upset that he wasn't allowed to have the day off the day of Mickey Mantle's funeral and he decided that it wasn't worth working anymore. Scooter/White and Scooter/Seaver were both great announce teams. It still doesn't seem right that the games aren't on PIX anymore.

I grew up with the Yanks on WPIX. It was the game at night and then followed up by The Honeymooners reruns. Makes me think of my grnadmother who was old school Italian. Nobody in her world was a greater baseball player than the Scooter. I remember as a kid my Dad bought me a Red Sox hat and she chased him around the kitchen with a wooden spoon. What makes it funny is she wasn't joking. I'm pretty sure if she caught him she would have beat the fuck out of him.

Man i hope Pettitte's hand is alright. :fp: It's pretty obvious this team is considerably better with him.

Shit. Nothing Granderson could have done with that.

Soriano looked pissed. I've never seen a closer pulled in a tie game. I still think ROberston will reclaim the job at some point this year.

I don't think. This was his first blown save this year and overall with the Yankees. Plus we're going to need Robertson in the 8th. Possibly 7th to get out of jams.

I'm just saying with how quick Joe pulled the plug I don't think he has a lot of confidence in him. IDK

I think he was more pissed at himself for not having any command of his pitches. I think the job will remain Soriano's and that he'll do what he had done before Sunday in nine out of 10 instances.

That sucks. I'm sure they'll get games in though. They pretty much have to. Enjoy. Should be a good series between two good teams.

Awesome time at the stadium yesterday. Always a good time when there is about 10-15% knucklehead Mets fans in attendance. Good win. Frustrating start to the game. Was awesome to see Pettitte pitch in person again. Didn't think that would ever happen outside of old timers day. Good times.

I don't think the Soriano situation is a lack of confidence. He was bad and there was a lefty up so I think it was more a combination of those two. Soriano is going to be the closer, they already said it. I think it should be that way too. Robertson has been awesome as a setup man and fireman and Soriano has done a really good job closing. If it's not broke, don't fix it.

Was supposed to hit up Dinosaur BBQ after the game but I am a dumbass and didn't make reservations. Went to a place called Southern Hospatility in Hell's Kitchen instead. Not too bad at all.

WTF is wrong with Brett Gardner? I need him on the field stealing bases for my fantasy team. He must be hanging out with Crawford and Ellsbury, taking tips on how to suffer rehab setbacks yet still cashing checks.

Yeah, it's rough. I'm getting to the point where I think it may be a lost season for him. I think he's seeing Dr. Andrews now.

Tell me about it. I had to drop him to another starting pitcher. I'm taking a chance that nobody will claim him and then I plan on re-claiming him when he finally returns.

This team just isn't hitting with runners on. If they return to just the mean, they will be scoring 8 runs a game. It has to happen eventually.
