 Well, I certainly wish the Yanks could make room for him. Dude can hit.

I just hope Gamel turns into our Ryan Howard...he's been stuck in the minors for 3-4 years waiting for a spot on the team.

These Yanks games make me want some Jim Beam black.

This team is in a great spot right now. They have won 13 out of 17 with a scrap heap of starting pitching. Hughes and Colon coming back in the next couple weeks are almost like pretty solid trade deadline moves, if they can come back healthy. The depleted bullpen has been fine. I am liking this teams chances in the AL East. I think Boston is a great team but if the Yanks can add a piece or two, I think they have a shot to make a run at this thing, as long as the big guys stay healthy.

Going to be a fun summer pennant race this year between the Yankees, Boston, and Tampa.

Cliffy, don't forget about Jeter coming back, also.

I hear you. And here's to hoping he doesn't come back until mid next week so I can see 3,000 on Sunday the 10th.

I think today is the day he's off the DL, but I hear they're gonna have him do a couple rehab stints to get loose again. The pre-game show yesterday, I think Jack Curry said he probably won't be available for the Subway Series this weekend.

Yeah, going to be a fun summer. At least it looks like the wild card will once again come out of the east. 3 teams for 2 spots.

Yeah, I don't see him being ready for this weekend. He ran the bases for the first time yesterday and took some ground balls and BP. Would be pretty sweet if it was middle-late next week. I would love to see him hit 3,000 in person.

Right now, it's still relatively close in the division. Baltimore is only 10.5 games out of first place. If they and Toronto heat up and start winning, should be a really exciting summer.

That would be really awesome to witness him be the first Yankee to do it. He might be ready for the series after the Mets.

Yeah, man. Would be great. I am going to be so hungover that day since the night before is my girls 30th birthday part but if he has a shot at 3,000 that day, I will sure as hell be there. I'll take the series after the Mets and hopefully he gets off to a slow start.

this is what a real division looks like....unlike the nl east ....with 1 good team

Atlanta Braves: 46-35, .568, 5th best record in baseball behind Phillies, Yanks, Sox, Giants. I would say 2 good teams. And the Braves are putting a beating on the AL lately.

Edit: they are 7-4 vs. AL.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story though.

Looks like 5 Yankees will be starting in the All Star game and the overall turnout could be pretty outrageous.

    Starters:
    Martin, Cano, Jeter, Arod, Granderson.

I would also imagine that Mo, CC and Tex will be there.

The Braves are a pretty good team, but you really can't try and compare the AL East to the NL East, can you?

I figured Granderson would be a no brainer with the way he's been playing this season.
