    nice comeback for cliffy

    1st place :)

Yeah, man. Great comeback and great day. Was fantastic seeing number 6 and 51 in pinstripes again. Just fucking awesome. The Tino homerun during the old timers game was a highlight.

Crowd during the actual game was a bit subdued, probably beacause of the slow start and the long day in gerenal. Great time though and great win.

my gf walked into the room during the old timers game and said " tino ? bernie? cone? ....we are getting old ":lol::lol:

    sad but true :( ;)

I counted 18 old-timers who played in the Joe Torre era. I'd be curious to guess who was at the first old-timers day in 1946.

Just off the top of my head, I'd guess the following might have been there:

Babe Ruth, Tony Lazzeri, Frank Crosetti, Earle Combs, Joe Dugan, Waite Hoyt, Bob Shawkey, Wilcy Moore.

Tino's home run today brought back great memories of Bernie scoring on a Tino home run. Tino was always my second favorite player, behind Jeter when I was growing up.

Just read the yanks are interested in a 15 year old in the mexican league, he has a 5.29 era but is playing against competition between double and triple a, from what am reading. That's pretty insane. Dude could have 4-5 more years of development and be in th big leagues by 20

who is he? how'd you enjoy the oldtimers day ceremonies?

Roberto Osuna, nephew of former Yankee Antonio Osuna. Sounds like he is in line for a seven figure bonus. After a somewhat lackluster draft, it would make it up big time if they could sign this kid. I just can't believe he is playing against that competition at that age.

Old timers day was great. Got in a few minutes late but made it for the 1st base side introductions, the good introductions. Was a long day but a lot of fun. Bernie and Torre got great ovations, was really hoping Bernie would hit a home run but I was happy to settle for Tinos. The Monahan cermony was nice but long. Great day overall though.

The old timers? A couple. I think they try and get 3 in but with all the ceremonies they don't have that much time. Pretty much play until they have to get the field ready for the actual game.

Fuck yeah, with them showing Uecker, I just realized they play at 1 on Thursday so I will be listening to him instead of Sterling while at work. Best news of the day.

That $10 million option for next year is looking pretty good right now. Wasn't so much early this season.

haha, that would be one hell of a lineup but I don't see it. Yankees already have their DH of the future, a few of them.
