Epic. Just an amazing main set. "Alone"! "Untitled"! (The "Live On Two Legs" one.) I will write more tomorrow, but had to ring in now to say this was the best of the 4 L.A. shows. 2 hours, 24 minutes of rock bliss. 31 songs!

Oh, and on the way home, 100.3 played "Amongst The Waves." It sounded great on the radio, and it segued nicely into the next song, Springsteen's "I'm On Fire." Try it at home and see for yourself.

Please, for San Diego-- go from "Jazz Odyssey" straight into "Last Exit"!
I gather speed from you fucking with me.
  • quick question, did Cantrell play all of Alive or just the solo again?

quick question, did Cantrell play all of Alive or just the solo again?
He was not on Alive, only on Kick out the jams....

Just got back to hotel with a passed out 9 year old. Greatest experience of my life let alone his. And my request came true for him... Hail, Hail was done! Now on to Brain of J in SD!

    I'll write more tomorrow.

Absolutely incredible. By far the best of the stand. Too many highlights to mention. I was so stunned they were playing All Those Yesterdays, it took me a moment to actually realize what song it was.

Kudos to the band. They deserve it.

Amazing show. I can't even begin to describe how great it was. I had pretty much given up on ever hearing Alone and All Those Yesterdays ... so to hear each of them for the first time in the same show was mind blowing. And then they threw in Crown of Thorns too! Probably the best show I have been to aside from the Vic...

It was weird hearing/seeing "Wishlist" without the Mirrorball/Disco Ball shinning on the crowd :(

ummm, fuck yeah. great mix setlist. Have come to love the familiar first encore. untitled into unthought known was great. Have to mention how amazing unthought known sounds live, really more of a crowd rocker than it appears on a setlist. Crown of thorns... always pleases. Getting a hail hail, force of nature, and all those yesterdays was big for me. Reign O'er Me fukin rocked. Glad they didn't end on Alive and had been waiting each show for indifference w/ ben. 4 great shows, couldn't be happier. Glad I will finally get some time to recover. Enjoy all you San Diego and Philly attendees, your in for a real fukin treat!

  • Fantasic show. FULL of energy, amazing set list... band in op form, 2 big-name guests and the string quartet.

7 songs from the new album... I got some video on my iPod shuffle although he sound quality is pretty distorted so I'll wait until the bootleg comes out and I'll sync them up.

in the meantime, here's some pictures from the show...

    Wow.

They pretty much picked up right where they left off last night after with Hunger Strike and just plain rocked it for 2.5 hours.

Thanks to 10c for the tickets tonight (I think i won the lottery if i counted the rows correctly). 2nd row orchestra 4 on stone's side. A big thanks to the band of continually putting on amazing shows.

Memorable two shows, feel so fortunate to have been able to have been there.

Such a great vibe for this show. Setlist was amazing as you can see. The band was really into it. I have seen a lot of shows and I have never seen Stone so animated. He was just rocking out the whole show like a 20 year old again. Seriously, he was headbanging like crazy. Mike, Ed, Jeff, everyone was having a blast.

the main thing I can say is that tonight's setlist absolutely MURDERED the set from 10/1. after waking up this morning reading the setlist from 10/6 and seeing that I missed out on Hunger Strike with Chris Cornell, how bummed I was.... knowing that it all went down 15 minutes down the road from me. so that alone made me decide to attempt to see the band one more time before they leave town, and man was it worth it. I made myself a little sign saying I needed 1 ticket and drove down to Universal. within an hour or so, someone sold me an extra they had. the seats could have been better, and I regret that I couldn't have at least been a tad closer so I could feel more immersed in what was going on. sitting on pretty much the back row of the mezzanine made me feel pretty distant, like I had to watch the show through glass. if only I could have had my 10C Orchestra AA seats for tonight's show instead of last week.... but the real kicker for me tonight was getting to witness All Those Yesterdays, which I'm sure will be the only time I get to hear that one live. so many other great surprises too. goodnight!

LA 3 was the best night, but LA 4 is a very close second. But for Chris Cornell they were pretty much equally amazing.

For me, Crown of Thorns was a highlight of the 2006 LA Forum show. I didn't expect to hear it this time out. Eddie said he wasn't sure if they'd played it in LA before. They had, and I was very happy to hear it again.

Man, I am emotionally exhaused after these 4 LA shows. I won't make it down to San Diego, so for me, as Ed said tonight, it will be a while before I can see them again. I feel a strong case of post-concert depression when tomorrow rolls around.

Again I want to thank the Ten Club people for the 5th row orchestra seats for LA3. Also I want to say that anyone who nit picks at the band or the Ten Club people should step back and realize how great we have it as fans of Pearl Jam, America's greatest rock and roll band.
  • Sick F*ckin' show! Fantastic set list! I got hooked up by a friend who works at universal so we got to hang backstage prior to the show (got a pic with Mike!!! Super rad! useless tidbit, he's a big fan of ben sherman clothing-made a comment about my jacket) i saw LA2 with fan club tickets and although those seats were better than the ones I got tonight, this set list and the energy of the band was just ON! Loved Long Road and wished I heard Release but with the other gems who the hell cares, This show was pretty epic (except for the chatty group standing next to me-Shut the hell up and listen to the show) Wished I went to LA3 but very satisfied with tonight!!!

On a side note: I was able to pick up 2 White Laker T-shirts (Medium and XLARGE) because they were out of Large shirts. Looks like the X-Large is what i'm going to keep (Medium too tight sadly). PM me if you are interested in buying the Medium.
Wishing I did not let my original fan club membership lapse and lose years and years of seniority!

I know someday you'll be a star in someone else's sky but why, why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine?

Just incredible, had one of the best, if not the best time at a show :D

After hearing songs like Alone, and All Those Yesterdays......then they hit us with Crown of Thorns and Kick out the Jams and so many more...WOW

Ed was spot on tonite, and McCready is a Mad Man

I feel very fortunate to have been there!!!

Thanks 10c for some pretty great seats as well

SD will have a tough time topping this, but thats what I said last night ;)

    Indifference :o
  • I'm bummed I was out of town last week and missed the first two LA shows, but man am I thrilled I was lucky enough to witness the greatness that was the last two nights. Can't wait till San Diego on Friday!

Here's a video I took of "Kick Out The Jams". Loading others now, I'll post links when they're up.

No way that just happened. It was impossible to top last nights set but yeah, I think they did. Did you guys see Mike run around the pit?!
  • Did anyone catch that thing right at the end where some dude in the front grabbed Eddie and pulled him off the stage? Ed was back up in a second and they threw he guy out.. but like.. wtf?
  • Thanks to the Ten Club for the great seats and to the two guys who switched seats with us so they could be close to their buddies. It worked out great for us, hope it was just as good for them.
Unbelievable energy throughout the night starting with Ben Harper and the R7. At one point during Ben Harper's set a fan yelled out "We're here for you Ben!" to which Ben replied something like "that's great but I'm here to see Pear Jam".
You could tell that Eddie and the boys wanted to rock the place from the start. Animal and Hail, Hail got the place pumpin' and it just kept going up from there. I loved Wishlist and Present Tense back to back. It was like having a heart to heart conversation with Eddie about life. Ending the first set with Spin the Black Circle and Porch left everyone in a frenzy. Love, Reign o'er me and Blood to end encore #1 ramped up the energy even more. State of Love and Trust with Crown of Thorns made me feel like it was 1992. Jerry Cantrell shredded on Kick Out the Jams.
I feel incredibly lucky to have made it to this show. It's going to take some time for this energy to wear off. Can't wait for SD.
