they are bringing it so far
    another great show on paper
  • I will post a review of Given to Fly, as this was the only song I heard via a cross country phone call waking me up at 1:30am.

It was so fucking fantastic, absolutely great!!! you fuckers who actually were there I'm so jealous. I've seen em 12 including last vancouver show and my friend who I sat with last time was kind enough to call me from GM Place because I was pretty jealous of him last night. The crowd was super loud and the band was killin GTF. God what a great song. I hope you realise how amazing this band is.....!

I await his details when he gets outta bed.

Great set list! I'm happy to see them pull out Breath ... wish they'd do it more often.

In My Tree must have been such a pleasant surprise as an opener!

All set to get a boot for this show....In My Tree as opener meant I had to.

    Then...

    Oh....

    No....

Last Kiss. Last....bloody....kiss!!!!! Why? Why in the name of all that's good do they play this utterly tiresome dirge. Truly, truly awful.

One day I'll be subjected to this live. I've got away with 8 shows without it....can my good fortune last? I doubt it.
Am I the only person who can't stand this song and knows the world would be a better place for PJ not playing it? Surely not!

    shakes his head at Tom
  • Are they still playing old-school "In My Tree"?

  • I go to the ticket booth and no lie Front Row too! Beside Jay and Sara, Center!!! What an amazing coincidence...We were freaking out!

    It gets better...

I just have to say Sara and Jay are the classiest PJ fans... they donated their 3rd row tickets to Wishlist at the Pre-party and it raised a ton of cash!

This is a great story. I'm sure that whatever I was doing at that moment was probably waaaay less exciting then what you were up to.

You are very lucky, but unfortunatley you have hit a ceiling. You'll never see a better show.
    90 shows and counting...some of my favs: Randall's Island night 2, Milwaukee '95 night 2, Hawaii '06, St Johns '05, PJ20!
  • Phenominal setlist!!
  • one note about Last Kiss - they played it just for the folks behind the stage. Everyone except Matt went behind the speakers and played.

they knew they had something cooking, and didnt want to bring it down...no parachutes or the end....
see my friend and DTE also left off....

    wow

boom gave this to the girl beside us.

  • My ears are still ringing and my heart is still pumping from last nights show. A big thankyou to Eddie and the boys.....Probably the best PJ show I've seen. But I say that about every show. Classy act to mention our hometown hero Terry Fox and donate big$$$$. My first PJ show was Lollapalooza 92 and I've been hooked ever since. I took my 17 year old son last night to his first PJ gig and he was blown away.....Long Live Rock and Roll

So jealous! First Vancouver show we've missed since the 90's. :( So happy for everyone there! :)

  • Unbelievable show. When they busted out Breath, I was in total disbelief I think it took the crowd about 5 seconds for it to sink in. Magical.

Another great Ed quote (paraphrase): "Being in Seattle means that we're lower and you're always higher." Hilarious. He totally ripped the Seattle crowds. I think it might be another 9 years before they get another show.

yup. they were class all the way. they are coming to portland. Ed handed Jay the wine in the front row too...he was a lucky mofo!!

the auction for the tickets was epic in itself it started at 150 and escalated into an all out bidding war between two pairs of girls. one of which were my friends from vancouver. they ended up winning the tickets for 800$!!!! it was such an intense auction, but im glad they got the tickets.

What specifically did he say about the Seattle crowds? If that is true, that kinda hurts my feelings and is pretty fucked up of him. :(
