Being home fuckin' blows.
I miss the touring crew already.
Cheers to all who came up to say hi to this weird idiot with a wig from Australia/London.
See yis in Philly.115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!0 -
Overall, a great show- haven't said much that hasn't been said already. Great crowd, utterly KO'd Seattle.
Spent the morning trekking up Grouse Mountain, lost a bit of time staying up on the mountain due to a bit of confusion with the rest of the touring van crew, but that's ok. Thought all that climbing might take away from my energy level during the show, but that was never gonna be an issue once adrenaline hit.
Said hi to the fellas at the pre-party, picked up the tickets, met more people, and it's off to the show after a solid feed at Dix.
When I walked in with 12th row tickets and saw that it was the front row of the 2nd block of seats on the floor, Stone side, I was overjoyed. Finally, some space to move around in. Not that the seats in the Seattle shows kept me (and Steph) from rocking out, but just looking at all that empty space in passage way made me salivate.
Went through my pre-show ritual of spotting and running up to all these new and old friends on the floor- haven't done this since Australia 06- being stuck in the 2nd row in Europe doesn't really allow for this. Had more than a few photo ops with some nice locals, too. Love it- back in Australia the security might tell me to shoo, but the nice people of Vancouver seemed to have no problems with me climbing over row after row to catch up with the mates.
Time passes, and it's closer to starting time. I know I'm rough. It makes sense to step a bit forward from the seat so I don't pogo on the neigbouring girl's sandals (sandals?!). So I did. And rock we did, with Stian, the best hard rocking ticket buddy I've ever had.
So it was a bit of a downer when one security guy (just one in particular, the others had no problems whatsoever) kept coming around to harass me to stay behind that silly little line. It's not like I didn't keep an eye around to make way for people coming down the passage way. And it's not like I didn't want to go back to my space- people from other spots had made their way to take over a coupla seats in the row, more or less making me step out front (more than happy to comply).
So I was given my last warning, told that once more over the line and I'm outta there. Oh please, there's at least 20 others smoking weed in my immediate vicinity without any hassle, and I'm being targeted for being exuberant? If I'm to be targeted for getting high on the music, what about this other lot?
So that wasn't so cool. Good thing that was after the main set. Tell ya what, it's bloody hard trying to hold it in for the Breath-SOLAT double hit.
That one security guy aside (like I said, the others were all fine), the one thing Vancouver needs to pick up its act on is the post-show action. Friday night and the drinking dens still close at midnight, 1am? Boo to that. Just as well the others needed to prepare for the Clark country trip while the remaining few were all pretty spent and weren't up for another all-nighter.
Can't wait till Philly. 4 shows and no inter-city travel required, meaning bender after bender. Brilliant.115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!0 -

Ty Pearl Jam. Best show of my life.
The Terry Fox recognition/dedication was awesome. Ty for that.
And to hell with Seattle, they have had it too good for too long. I have a small apartment, but I am sure I can fit you all in here. Vancouver would love to have you. And for the love of god, please come back soon, there seemed to be a little gap since the last time you all were here.
Highlight of the night... Elderly Woman... everybody singing at the top of their lungs in unison. I look to the people to my left, and they are just nodding their heads. Guess they didn't know the words. But then again, what do you expect from someone who wears a shawl to a Pearl Jam concert.
You guys rock, please don't stop.
p.s. Ty for playing Yellow Ledbetter. It was the cherry on the top.Too important to me and too important to us...
We'd be lost without you!0 -

The words are slowly starting to come to me... but I only have a few...
This crowd was unfuckingbelievable... there wasn't even alot of Ten Club members there... this crowd just likes rock and roll. I've never seen people with such shitty seats (at the top and behind the stage) rock out so hard. The set list was amazing.. and the band was so energetic and into every song.
Love, Reign O'er Me was, and i'm not joking, as good as the version at the Rock Honors in LA. That is what sealed the deal for me. Ed was just wailing and the look in his eyes was possessed.
I hope more than anything that some kind of videos pop up from this show. I can't wait to re-live it!Writing checks that others pay.....0 -
I've been to quite a few shows in Portland, Seattle and the Gorge, but Vancouver 05 was the best crowd I have ever seen.0

To get this thread back on track, it's great to see the crowd interaction. I loved how Eddie gave the wine out and also grabbed that Who cloth from the 10C'ers on here. My fave was when he picked out the youngster with the headphones and had the crowd pass her a pick. She had a permasmile on leaving the concert with her mom and will be a fan for life.
It's true! I'll be a fan forever! PJ will forever rock! Molly, headphone girl, age 90 -
Hey. I'm Molly, a.k.a Headphone Girl.I was the kid who got the pick from Eddie. I was fifth row standing on my seat. Earlier my Mom had said to me "If at any time Eddie is looking at you and you feel like it, wave.' Fine, like there's any chance of him seeing me. Near the start, I thought he was looking at me, so I waved. Sure enough, his beautiful blue eyes went all crazy and wild, and he waved! People all around me started to say stuff like,"He looked right at you!' and things like that. All I could say in response was' I know! Isn't that awesome!?! This was my third Pearl Jam show, and it rocked! I thought that moment with Eddie was special, but I had no idea what was coming to me! At the end of the Show, when they were playing their closing song, Eddie started to throw picks into the crowed, that's when I started to get exited. Suddenly, he was looking at me doing the headphone motion. I pointed at myself, not belving my eyes. He nodded, smiled, and got the crowed to pass it back to me. Suddenly I was famous. I got my picture taken about eight times.I couldn't belive it! I pinched myself about ten times to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I wasn't .I'll that night as long as I live! Molly, 9.0

This was the best show ever, I had good seats......I can't get over how good the show was. Ed and the band rocked! There was just a feeling, an energy there, I can't explain it and I still can't believe the feeling. I wanted to cry, scream, and smile so big all at once. It's like you stepped off a roller coaster and you now you wanna get back on again.0

Will never know, but pretty sure the little nod and smile at :30 was to me, after Ed caught me also singing along to the melody line.
Or it was just gas. But I'm pretty sure! There's a lot to be said for nowhere...0 -
