Happy we got Indifference w/out Ben in Seattle :)

    So was I :)

But i'm a very bummed that in the first Vancouver show I missed in 10 years they played Breath! I've always wanted to hear that live.

Probably would of made the vancouver show if they hadn't staggered out the tour info/dates/tickets :(
  • Nice set list! That first encore sounds incredible.

Did they have a Pearl Jam Canucks shirt at the show?
  • Happy we got Indifference w/out Ben in Seattle :)

Must have been awesome - can't wait to read fanviews!

Yep, the skate logo circa 1994 with Pearl Jam instead of Canucks.

  • What a f******* show !!!

It was my 2nd PJ live experience after the one last tuesday in Seattle.
That one was IMO far above, maybe because better tickets (floor), I dont' know but it was so powerful, waouhhhhhh !

All the songs were great, special mention on Rearviewmirror and to the Encore 1. It was incredible !
Great Ed, Gread Band, Great Music, Great Crowd, Fantastic Night

Thanks PJ !!! See you again soon !
  • haven't seen comments about the relentless 7, are there posts somewhere else? i totally love ben, and am curious how others are digging him? did "happy no ben in seattle" mean that you were happy he was in vancouver cuz you missed him in seattle or you really preferred not having him...? love breath too, you luckies!! wish i were there... my 16 year old son will be there tomorrow, representing!! love to you all from across the pacific... i'm appreciating the 'views...
  • Nice set list! That first encore sounds incredible.

Did they have a Pearl Jam Canucks shirt at the show?

yes. really bummed I didn't get one but didn't see it until after I had already left. do they only sell them there?

amazing show. awesome energy from the band and the crowd. killer setlist. figured they would play one Who song and stoked it was Love Reign Over Me.

Eddie told how Terry Fox inspired him as kid growing up and to do good things. The band then donated 20 grand to the Terry Fox foundation.

i gotta say, out of 26 shows, gorge, MSG, boston, seattle,

This was the best pearl jam show I have ever been to.

i won front row in the lottery, i held up a 1982 Who Hankerchief during Reign, Ed saw it and liked it. Gave me a nod. During YL while mike was soloing and ed was resting, i threw it up to Ed. he didn't even have to move to catch it. Just hit him, he used it stuck it in his back pocket and ran and got me a pick, handed it to me personally and we shook hands.

This interaction had nothing to do with this being the best show I've ever been to. i was thinking that LONG before this happened. Terry Fox song - Light Years. HUGE ovation for this. The crowd was unreal, the setlist was off the charts. Just look at it. The band knew they had something special going. The first encore was just blistering, i mean listen to the boot.. In seattle, we got sit down slow songs BOTH nights, on this night? FUCKIN i got shit, Regin, BREATH, SOLAT, ALIVE. MY GOD....No way was wicked tonight too, nasty jam at the end. officially dissed the seattle crowds. said he wanted to move to vancouver, but then the downside, after five years, we would turn into a SHIT CROWD TOO.!!!! hahahhahah

unreal, epic, mind blowing. best concert ever for myself. Absolutely stunning.

Im too tired to give a full review. Gotta sleep. portland drive starts in 7 hours. ouch

pre Party = massive success. THANK YOU ALL.

  • That show was awesome. I have a 41X,XXX number and managed to pull floor seats row 18. Ben Harper and Relentless 7 were on fire, that drummer of theirs sure can play. Pearl Jam played played an incredible set and dedicated Light Years to Terry Fox. Also, on my way home I saw a group of hookers down the street from my place.

I guess the only way I could truly sum tonight up with is a quote, so hear I go. "Compare your lives to mine and then kill yourselves". Thank you Pearl Jam for what will be the best night of my life, or at least the best night until the next time I see you guys.
  • i will also add this before bed.

I am gonna say that the band, at no point in their career, have EVER been having as much fun as they are right now on stage playing together. its absolutely beautiful to see.

Congrats B! Can't wait to hear more about it tomorrow!
    NERDS!
  • I've been to 5 shows this tour (Chicago X 2, Seattle X 2 and Vancouver) and am from the states. All I have to say that Vancouver killed Seattle and Chicago. The Vancouver crowd was fucking into it, enormous energy and hanging onto every word. It was a special night. Looking forward to Portland and hoping they can bring it like the Canucks!!!
  • Good to see Light Years and I Got Shit in there! 8-)
  • Portland will be lucky today because the band is coming off a great high from last night.

I've been to many shows and until tonight, the best show I have ever seen was by Pearl Jam in 1998 (Barrie). This was the best show I've ever been to. The band was absolutely on fire tonight. The band and crowd totally fed off each other.

In My Tree was a great opener and Johnny Guitar just rocked out. Clearly my fave tune off the new album.

Eddie was very "local" referencing the crowd in front of him cheering and feeling like he won the Stanley Cup and he referred to the crowd in the seats behind the stage as feeling like the local Commodore Ballroom. He threw in a Chelios reference too. The Terry Fox "light years" dedication and $$ donation was great. Ed's story of how inspiring his story was considering Fox trekked across Canada on a wooden leg compared to them flying across Canada for the coast to coast tour and tiring them out in 2005 was great. Also mentioned how he knew the Terry Fox story when he was a teen in California.

Ed flubbed a verse in MFC, but that was a great song to hear. Before "Small Town", Ed told a story about flying over Canada and how Stone pointed out the window and saw a small town and he went into the "1,2,3,4..." before the song and started laughing. They had to redo it.

Stone was rocking out and gave proverbial head to Mike's guitar at one point when they were jamming.

The Seattle story was mentioned already and I have to agree, this crowd kicked the ass of the crowd at the Monday show I saw.

Last Kiss was dedicated to the crowd behind the stage.

Ben Harper was wonderful, I selfishly wish they played Under Pressure with him though instead.

Amongst the Waves was described as a song about "Love being good for a change" or something to that extent after saying most love songs were about when things went wrong.

Thanks 10C for great seats by the way. I had 9th row centre (200xxx) and based on the conversations around me, that might not have even been a lottery ticket even though it was clearly the best seats I've ever had. Could have been the lack of Seattle crowd that didn't show up b/c of shows there that bumped a bunch of us up so far.

So much more I forgot, but I'll have to listen again on the bootleg to forever remember.

    Let me first say:

    THANK YOU TEN CLUB!!!!

Here's a crazy story: At 3:00 I went to pick up my tickets. I see my new friends from Calgary, Supersara and Jay123123 who I met at the Chicago shows... Sara tells me she has 3rd row and her touring mate Jay is in line to get his. (His friends had bailed and couldn't make it) He comes over and he gets the lottery Row 1!!!! I say hey can I buy your 3rd row tickets? Its pretty much a done deal I just had to get my 358XXX tickets. I go to the ticket booth and no lie Front Row too! Beside Jay and Sara, Center!!! What an amazing coincidence...We were freaking out!

    It gets better...

I just have to say Sara and Jay are the classiest PJ fans... they donated their 3rd row tickets to Wishlist at the Pre-party and it raised a ton of cash!

The show itself was the best of my 12 shows and I have been to some Epic shows. Personally for me hearing Breath for the first time was an outer body experience! I cried!!! That song has meant so much to me for so long.

Another hi-light was Ed pointing at me and throwing me his pic early in the show! Amazing!

There are just too many moments to put in to words!

Thank you Pearl Jam for such an incredible experience. The best concert night of my life!!!

All set to get a boot for this show....In My Tree as opener meant I had to.

    Then...

    Oh....

    No....

Last Kiss. Last....bloody....kiss!!!!! Why? Why in the name of all that's good do they play this utterly tiresome dirge. Truly, truly awful.

One day I'll be subjected to this live. I've got away with 8 shows without it....can my good fortune last? I doubt it.
Am I the only person who can't stand this song and knows the world would be a better place for PJ not playing it? Surely not!
