Back to a friend's place where I can get an internet connection after Manchester and London gigs.
Manchester show was really good despite a few technical problems for Eddie.
Highlights for me were Not For You, Present Tense, Smile and Indifference.
A bit disappointed they didn't open with Release but ... I finally got it at London the next day :D
I was something like 10 to 15 meters from the stage in front of Jeff and it was quite a safe point during the whole show. On top of that, I was standing next to a cute girl during half the show. I don't know her name, she didn't wear any 10c wristband, I'll probably never see her again but I'll remember her ;)

long way to home after manchester and london gigs. i come directly from airport to computer.
happy to see same feelings about this amazing setlist. it was something like i was choosing the songs. Nearly every song i wish to see live was shown on that nite. i was in the front, third or fourth in the raw, being that near to eddie makes me feel alive...
This is an incredible band, i love them more everyday.

thank you pearl jam, world is a better place with you!

Hard to Imagine ,no pun intended, that anything could be as hot as Pearl Jam or the reaction of the fans in Manchester , but I had Thunder Bay( 2005 and Ed wonders aloud how ICE hockey can be played at the Fort William Gardens in TB) flashbacks at the M.E.N. That said, Long Road, Last Exit, Low Light, In Hiding, Sleight of Hand, The Real Me, Leash, and Indifference made this an amazing , amazing show .

  • AWESOME!! gig as usual so a massive thanx to the band. It was hot in there but that,s insignificant in regards to my plight. Me and my girlfriend Lisa were travelling back home to the West Midlands on the m62 about 80 miles from home when the clutch exploded on my car had to get towed by the aa back home ,cost me an extra £500 to get stuff sorted but worth every penny. Could,ve been a lot worse if we,d broken down on the way thr tho. Thanx again to Eddie & co hope to see you again very soon

Yeah same for me.....I was so close to the front at Manchester but couldn't get any decent photographs. In the end I just gave up and decided to enjoy the gig rather than get frustrated every time I tried to take a photo :( Still got post-gig blues three days later. Saw them in Berlin last Saturday as well. Two shows are not enough!

  • The Fixer is amazing live - really comes into its own when everyone sings along. Behind the back solo on Even Flow very impressive, being subjective though did anyone else think Stone played by the numbers ?

I'm suffering the blues...I keep looking at clips on youtube and then I just feel down because I won't get to see them again for ages...I do have the Kings of Leon to look forward to at Reading festival though...but as much as I love them it's just not the same :(

  • yay i have just become a Ten Club Member!!!! :):)
Flew up over from Ireland for the manchester gig.. well worth the 5+ hour journey (both ways!). Eddie was great as was the whole band.. almost every song was one i would have picked out to get played. Could've cried when The Long Road opened, had been hoping for that but thought it would be unlikely!
We were standing fairly close to the stage, started off about 4 or 5 rows back but ended up maybe 6 or 7 rows back, all the time i was wishing we had managed to get up right to the front!! .. my only complaint was that i unfortunately ended up behind some rather tall guys and at 5ft 2 i ended up standing on tip toes most of the night to be able to see the stage at all! the heat was intense, esp for us going crazy at the front!!
anyone know when the bootleg will become available? i am still having serious post-gig blues .. wishing i could have made it to london but wasnt possible.. hoping we wont have to wait years for another UK/Ireland tour - and guys PLEASE come to Ireland again soon!! x

Judging by his Manchester t-shirt, at least you know that Ed Ved will approve of your choice of Kings of Leon :)

In case it hasn't been seen, this youtube vid of Alive at Manchester is awesome - in HD.

  • That was my second gig and best gig.I have to say that topped London two years ago.A lot of noise been made about the pit and I have to agree. It may be a bit naive to say it wasn't expected but London 2007 certainly was nothing like that.I remember a bit of pushing for Comatose and Grievance but nothing to the extent of Manchester. You get the impression that there are certain people who are there just to got mental and not for the music.I hope the Norweigan guy who had not long ago been in a bike accident got out unscathed and the small Italian guy who snuck his bag in.I was with my friend who was enjoying her first Pearl Jam experience and in the end I had to drag her out as she got winded by an elbow in the gut and looked a little shocked. We ended up further back and had a great time dancing round and with me singing along to every song and getting a few strange looks but I don't care! So many highlights but I rememer the clap along at the end of Black and Eddie looking really choked.Surveying the crowd during Alive with everyone on their feet is something I won't forget. On a personal level hearing Black and RVM after a particularly difficult beggining to the year including a relationship breakdown and getting out of a job that was driving me insane was special. My friend is already saying she must see them again and is refusing to remove her wristband! I really hope Eddie isn't so serious when he says it will be a while before there back.I can certainly see them going back to Italy at some point as there seems to be a connection there and I know I will be trying to get to Milan!

    A fantastic evening!

I think Wembley has a much wider stage so the crowd isn't squeezed in as tight. Also, and this may not be the case but, Wembley 2007 was only 10c members in the standing area which may have meant there were less looneys. i do hasten to add that being a member of 10c doesn't mean you aren't a looney  but by the fact you have joined you've at least got some sense ;)

does anyone know why MEN employ such morons for security? man they were fucking idiots.

whats with the making everyone sit down like naughty school children for 2 hours.

'hey you get off your knees and sit on your bum please!!'...

The higher up you get in the nosebleeds the less standing room there is.

We were at that MEN on 15th July to see Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction and we were right up near the ceiling...standing on those steps was like balancing on the edge of a razor blade...I suppose it's to stop people falling forward and setting off a domino type effect as everyone else starts falling forward...they are the same at football grounds...like political correctness health and safety is going OTT as well...it's like you can't decide for yourself how dangerous something is and you need someone to tell you

Ummmm perhaps some people do need it pointed out to them – whilst dancing enthusiastically I managed to go over the seats in front of me 3 times at the MEN on Monday. So if the poor guy who had me fall into his lap 3 times throughout is reading this I really am very very very sorry.

i should have been more clear here, I mean they were telling us to sit down after entering the standing area. sitting on the arena floor, legs crossed from 5pm to 7.30. wierd as hell

I know it was a bit like being treated as naughty school kids but I really thought it was a good idea. It meant that 10C members who had early entry could go in and sit comfortably instead of having for stand from 5.45pm just to get front row. When they opened the doors to the general public people rushed in to try and get down the front and the 'bums on floor' policy meant that they had not chance to get there and no chance to just crush people from behind. I know it seemed a bit silly but as a safety measure and a way of ensuring that 10C early entry ticket holders got what they 'deserved / paid for' it was excellent.

On reflection I tend to agree with what you said. My first reaction was, what the fuck you can't make me sit down, but it did have a calming effect on the crowd. I was knackered enough as it was at the end, another hour or two on my feet would not have been welcome.

I still dont get it one bit, this wasnt necessary at any other dates, and there was no issues whatsoever.

Some people chose to sit at SBE, so to have some halfwit shouting through his fucking broken skew wiff teeth, to sit on my bum and not on my knees was a joke. They also seemed to have the worst attitudes of all security I have come across. Compare them to the 02 people who were great, or even Berlin, who were just awesome, and the Manchester guys were an embarrassment.

as soon as the band comes on - people surge all at once, which for me exasberates the problem.

Maybe you are right, I just thought it meant people who were going to be right at the front got to sit for a while longer before the gig.

As for London, I had the complete opposite experience of one security guy. After being in the front three rows at SBE and MEN we decided to hang back and were unfortunate enough to be in the viscinity of the most power hungry man in a dayglo jacket I have ever met.

i was at the nin/ja show at the men a month back and just on the walk down to the standing area i fell down some steps  and i had friends at both that gig and pj that fell over in the seating areas.
alot of people seem to spill there beer on the walk down which just makes everywhere really slippy.
on a plus point tho i didnt fall over in front of thousands of people this time and i also got mikes plec :D
